I was in the midst of planning a bathroom renovation and realized I needed help pulling the whole design plan together. As a busy professional, I wanted someone who could take my vision and help me narrow down the options so that my contractor had direction on finishes and planning. Jodi at the Decor Coach was a great resource for me! In only 2 hours, she not only helped me choose light fixtures, shower design, cabinets, tile, counters, etc., she also gave me some cost saving suggestions. Her knowledge in design enabled us to cover details that I hadn't even thought of yet. She took my preferences into account to have choice, but not too many choices, and used her expertise to narrow it down and give me options. It was a relief to have someone assist me in these decisions and Jodi was also not afraid to tell me when she really felt something would not work, or was a waste of money. She also took into account the age and style of the home and the resale values in the neighborhood as well as how long I plan to remain in the house as part of the plan. It was a great experience and I highly recommend the Decor Coach!

We found The Decor Coach while searching for an interior designer in Apex. Dozens of 5 star reviews caught our eye, but the coaching service and flat rate pricing on the website got us to reach out. Just one coaching session saved us hours of frustration and potentially thousands of dollars in well-intentioned mistakes… Within 3 hours we had selected a luxury vinyl plank floor, a color palate for the entire house and next steps for our kitchen and 3 bathrooms (oh, and how to bring our floor-to-ceiling brick fireplace into this century) . She gave us tips on how to properly use paint samples to verify our color choices, select light fixtures, areas rugs, and other accessories. The final thing she provided, though, is worth her consulting price just on its own: contact information for skilled craftsmen of all trades that she has worked with and trusts. She takes no commissions or kick-backs for these referrals because she wants them to be the highest quality at the best price with no bias. Jodi is professional, approachable, experienced, and passionate about helping people. She put our family first, identified our style and provided a holistic strategy for focusing our budget on the highest impact improvements. It has been an empowering experience and we will use Decor Coach at every phase of our home improvements from now on.

Jodi was friendly, professional, and offered more in knowledge and service than I could ever have hoped for. We were looking for guidance on kitchen cabinet paint colors for our 107 year old farm house. What Jodi provided was so much more! Jodi of Decor Coach was able to walk us through the process of remodeling our kitchen by providing ideas that not only look good but fall within our budget. Jodi also provided us with references for contractors that will perform the scope of work we are having done. We began this project by looking on the internet trying to determine the look of what we wanted to achieve. Next we visited our local big box hardware store where we purchased multiple paint samples which we applied trying to match pictures we found on the internet. Overall the process we were using prior to Decor Coach was time consuming and sometimes overwhelming. After 2-3 hours of talking with Jodi in our home we have a step by step "game plan" of what we want to do and how to go about doing it. We will be utilizing her knowledge in future home renovation projects.

I was extremely pleased! The colors that we agreed upon were really "my" style which is what pleased me most. As a real estate agent, I see a lot of beautiful homes, and I know the value of a good interior designer. So, when we purchased a new house, I knew I'd need helping making the house a home. Jodi showed up on time and was very pleasant and personable. She took the time to get to know me and my style. We went through pictures online to see what I did and didn't like. Then, Jodi looked at my artwork and accessories to get a feel for what we had to work with. Ultimately, she helped me choose an area rug, gave me some paint colors to try, and explained how to arrange my furniture. We also came up with some long-range decorating plans to work toward in increments. Overall, I was extremely pleased with Jodi's work. She really took my likes and dislikes into account and clearly explained why something would or wouldn't work. Jodi was also mindful of my budget when making recommendations. I will definitely use her services again, and I will recommend her to my real estate clients!

Jodi was at my house for 2 hours. She gave advice on furniture replacement, lighting options, paint colors, and lots of other interior decorating advice. She was very good. She made suggestions on most rooms in my house. She advised me where to buy furniture and lights fixtures both on the internet and locally. She helped me select possible items on the internet and took pictures with my IPAD, so I would have a convenient record. I also took copious notes. She provided advice about every room in my house. I was impressed with her knowledge and her ability to help. I would highly recommend Décor Coach to anyone for interior decorating advi0ce.

Jodi was amazing! I was so intimidated to have an interior designer come to my home. She was so helpful and very well prepared. I really enjoyed working with her and we came up a few different options on updating my kitchen. She also provided referrals for contractors that have worked out well.

I really enjoyed working with Jodi. This is a great less expensive alternative for those who want to decorate their own homes but need some advice from design professionals. Jodi came in and immediately made great suggestions that made a big impact in my home. I'm enjoying having edited bookshelves and have since purchased several of the items that Jodi recommended. From the moment Jodi entered my house I knew it was the right choice. We went room to room and selected paint colors I would never have chosen on my own. My new color pallet is colorful, soothing, and the right match for my traditional home.

Jodi and I spent 3 hours walking through my town home and discussing the direction I wanted to go with the décor. Though I wanted to keep to a traditional coastal colonial look, I also wanted to make it feel fresh and up to date. Jodi provided ideas I never thought of (such as recessed lighting in the kitchen), to how to coordinate with separate service providers, to considerations on resale value and shopping with a budget. Since this will be an extended timeline for completion, she offered additional help on tile and countertop feedback as I start to shop for those. I'm thrilled to start on this creative design process and can't wait to see each piece come together. I know it'll be just right with her input.

We used Jodi to help us gather some ideas for our home decor. She was truly amazing. She arrived on time and jumped right into the job. She was thoughtful and creative in her suggestions and always asked our input as well. Jodi allowed my husband and I to see our home in a new light. We have been stumped for months with what direction to go. Her advice was more than just advice, we needed examples! Rather than just saying, you'll want window treatments there or a lamp here, she pulled up actual examples so I could see what her vision was. That is exactly what we needed. She showed us different paint colors and explained why they would be nice in the various rooms. Jodi was easy to work with and had a positive attitude the whole time. She worked right up until the time was up. Additionally, she provided detailed follow up when we had a few more questions. Jodi was a joy to work with and I would highly recommend her.

It went really well. Jodi, with amazing speed, helped my husband and me reach many joint decisions. Our contractor was thrilled that by the time he showed up so many decisions had been made. His work was easier and our anxiety was lower.

Jodi is awesome. My boyfriend and I have been struggling with some areas in our new house in terms of furniture placement, lighting, accessories, etc... while we tried for 6 months to decorate our new home on our own, we knew it was time for some help to work through some of our issues and just to confirm we were headed in the right direction - that's exactly what Jodi provided for us and we were extremely happy with her 3 hour visit. We were worried that if we hired a professional they might not have our same sense of style and try to do things they like vs. what we like, etc... Our worries were completely unfounded with Jodi! She understood our style from the start and every suggestion she had really fit into our preferences. My boyfriend and I were both there and she helped us to pick paint colors for our entire downstairs - this process of picking paint has taken us days/weeks in the past doing it on our own, but Jodi has every paint sample you can imagine (plus larger swatches which is helpful) and she was able to hone in on just the right colors for us and let us choose from a few choices instead of 1000's that we get overwhelmed with at the paint store! While the paint selection took up a good portion of our appointment, we also had time to work through some furniture placement issues we were having in our media room - Jodi's suggestions were really unique and not something we would have thought to do on our own. She was also really helpful in giving us some guidance on where to put artwork/accessories, lighting, etc... in our main living areas and pointing out things that we had already done that were working and others that we needed to adjust. We are going to work on putting her suggestions in place over the next few months with our family room and media room and I imagine when it comes time to focus on our other living spaces that we haven't gotten to yet, we'll be contacting Jodi again for help!

Jodi went to work immediately with a tour of my house to get a feel for our tastes & lifestyle. We talked about furniture and rug placements and she explained the pros and cons of different arrangements. As we worked through each area, she measured the spaces and the furniture, which helped a great deal with scale. We discussed different light fixtures, (size, shape, light output, etc.), so I will be able to narrow my selections to those which make sense in the spaces. We also worked on several problem areas. I was accustomed to seeing certain pieces of furniture where they had always been, but they did not really work where they were situated. Jodi showed me that some of the pieces actually needed to be placed elsewhere. When she finished our first session, I came away with a million new ideas. I will be calling her again to help me make future selections.

Jodi was able to merge two of the floor plan options our contractor had come up with to really capture what we want/need our new space to be. The new floor plan expands our master bath and closet while still providing adequate storage space. Jodi really helped us weigh the costs and benefits of moving walls by visualizing the finished space. Jodi was fantastic about guiding us to make cost effective choices that preserve the overall style we wanted for our master bath - i.e. splurging on the quartz/granite vanity and shower bench and pocket door while selecting a stock tile floor and drop in tub. I was amazed how much we accomplished in 2 hours. We will definitely be working with Jodi again :-)

We recently moved to the area and although I have some design sense, I really needed a professional to help with picking out paint colors, arranging the artwork and furniture we brought with us, and deciding what to buy new. Along with all the details needed to make good purchases (measurements, styles, fabrics, colors, etc) she also pointed us to the best stores to find the items needed while keeping in mind our budget. My wife and I purchased a beautiful home in Lochmere (Cary, NC) that needed a complete renovation to both modernize it (it was built in 1989), and to make it our own. We knew what our style was and knew what we wanted, but we didn?t know how to quite get there. That was only $650 (including removing and re-installing the shower door) and that saved us thousands. She?s recommended cabinet refinishing and rebuilding people and others and they have saved us time and money and done amazing jobs for us. The other thing about Jodi?s referrals is that she is constantly updating them based on their recent performance. She withdrew several referrals once her other clients had unsatisfactory experiences with them and then was able to provide us with new ones based on recent experiences with other clients. If you are looking to do any decorating and don?t know where to start ? or simply want a second opinion ? don?t hesitate to call Jodi. I made a two-hour appointment for help choosing interior paint colors and kitchen cabinet hardware. I already had an idea of the colors I wanted but was becoming overwhelmed with all the hundreds of colors to choose from. Jodi showed up right on time and made me feel comfortable and confident about my ideas and wants for paint colors. She listened to my ideas and then gave me specific suggestions which were really helpful. I definitely plan to hire her again for my next project!

My wife and I are preparing to install new hardwood floors throughout our living room, foyer, and hall. We quickly realized that we needed some assistance in colors choices not only for the floor but the wall color and wanted some advice on choosing the correct style for our home. Jodi came in and first listened to our plans and assessed what we had. She toured the home to get a feel for our style before offering her advice. She showed us many things that we had over looked that are going to make a huge difference in the remodel such as door and window trim, redoing the architectural ceiling beams, changing the paint color in our kitchen to compliment the new color in the living room and foyer, etc. At the end of our time with her, we had paint colors, trim ideas, and a floor stain color. She also sent several web pages for us to look at for curtain and throw rugs and pillows to compliment the new color scheme.
