Steven came out to the house and met with me to discuss the work we wanted done, he came back to the house when we changed the scope of the job so he could re-evaluate. It was great to have a certified arborist helping us evaluate the project and make suggestions. Steven took measurements, drew up plans and sent them along with his quote and a copy of his insurance certificate before we even asked. We had gotten 4 other quotes and while CS Tree Service was in the ballpark they were not the cheapest. We chose CS Tree Service because we wanted professionals to handle removing an extremely large oak tree that was leaning over our house. Getting to the oak was tricky since there was not much space between our house, the tree and our neighbor's house. We had other companies refuse to do the work because the didn't have the equipment or experience. CS put the safety of their crew first. They showed up on time, the crane was there and they got right to work. They put down boards to distribute the weight of the crane so it would not damage our driveway or yard. It was an all day job with their entire crew on site. Everyone was polite, they kept us updated of the progress and they left the yard looking better than it did when they first showed up. They removed all debris. I couldn't believe they were able to lift a section of our neighbor's sidewalk that the tree roots had pushed up and replaced the section of sidewalk flat after they ground down the stump/roots. Before they left one of the workers saw a tree next to the one they had just trimmed with low hanging branches over our house, he asked if we wanted it trimmed and once we said yes he was right back in the tree trimming it up. CS Tree Service really went above and beyond, I can't say enough good things about them and I have been handing their business cards out to whoever asks in the neighborhood.

I used an Angie's List big deal for this project and they were great. They are excellent and are very nice people. They came when they said they would and cleaned everything up. It did not take them very long and they were very outgoing and friendly.

I contacted the owner of CS Tree Service via email to get an estimate for some pruning as well as removal of 2 large trees. We scheduled a time for the estimate, and I arranged my schedule around the appointment. He never showed up. I emailed him to remind him that we had had an appointment and to ask if something had happened. He never replied to my email.

We found CS Tree Services through Angies List. We called to get an estimate for removing a large sweet gum from our front yard. Within a few days, Steve stopped by the house and gave us a fair estimate. He stated that he was backed up and it would be a few weeks before he could do the job. Within a week or two, his crew showed up, cut and ground the tree, cleaned up all the debris and was finished within an hour and a half. There was no sign whatsoever that a large tree had just been removed. We also requested stump grinding but their stump removal equipment was in for repair. Within two or three days, they were back to finish the job. They were very efficient and professional. We would definitely recommend CS Tree Services.

These were very pleasant and capable people to have working on my property. They are very skilled in the service they performed and I would use the again. I am pleased with the results.

A redbud tree that I enjoyed was hit and split, apparently while cutting down the pine trees. I was told this tree was diseased, but it certainly was blooming until cut almost in half. The tree was removed, but I was not pleased and don't plan to hire them again. I believe I was given a fairly low estimate for their services and appreciate that.

They did a good job. They are very friendly and easy to work with. They have well laid out proposals and a clear indication on what the costs are.

I needed some tree work done at my home and purchased a coupon on Angies List/Big Deal for CS Tree Services. While there was some initial delay in their response to my request to come out and evaluate the work I needed, I was impressed that Steve from the company did call to let me know they had experienced delays due to the popularity of the coupon offer and would be in touch soon to schedule a visit. Soon thereafter Steve was able to quickly arrange a visit and despite being delayed by a traffic accident on I-40, arrived to check on the amount of tree work needed. This turned out to be the removal of 3 trees and some major pruning of a fourth. His recommendations were clear and the quote reasonable. The CS Tree Services crew arrived a week or 10 days later to do the work. I was very impressed with the professionalism of the crew and how quickly the work was completed. They even removed some unrelated "hangers" that might have been just out of my reach if I were motivated to do it on my own. They finished the work and cleanup in just over an hour. So, I will certainly contact them again for work in future.

His crew came out when scheduled, ground up several old stumps, cleared out old dead debris and cleaned up after themselves. While working they checked with us to make sure we were happy with the job they had done. I would highly recommend CS Tree Services to anyone in need of tree services. Without a doubt, I would use his company again when the need arises. Steven Kurtz is a Certified Arborist and his company earned Angies List Super Service Award in 2011.

I cannot comment on their service, but I was disappointed by their lack of response. I contacted them twice, once leaving a message on their phone service and once leaving a request for quote through their web site. In both cases, I never received any reply, not even a courtesy call declining to quote.

I had purchased the Big Deal ($199 for $400 in Service). I decided to expand the scope of the job. Steven (co-owner) came over for an estimate which was very fair. More so then quote I had received from Leaf and Limb Tree Service who I have used before. The Crew was on time. They were sensitive to tredding lightly on the grass, no bob cats were used, just foot traffic. They worked through a decent downpour. They were on th ejob for approximately ~1/2 day and took the trees down, grinded the stumps, cleaned up. The lead took a walk thru (before and after) thaking care of what was needed (and then some). The overall exprience was excellant and professional.

I responded to an Angie's List Big Deal and appreciated the savings. Response to my initial call for an estimate was quite timely, especially given the increased volume of calls they were experiencing. I was content to wait for 11 days before being put on their schedule. They arrived at the appointed time with an experienced crew of 5, a large truck w/ a 60 ft. boom, and (almost) every bit of equipment they would need to complete the job. The maple to be removed was in our fenced backyard (against the fence) and was tall enough to fall on the house if not taken down properly. They were able to park the truck in the driveway (where the weight of it would not damage soft ground) and use the boom to reach the maple. In combination, the guy in the bucket up top and a very good spotter on the ground dropped the tree exactly where they intended, with no harm to themselves or property. It was rather thrilling to watch! The crew was conscious of 'safety first', they were obviously very well trained, and they were efficient. Amazingly, they completed everything in 2 1/4 hours! I was so pleased with the thoroughness of the job, including clean up, that I happily added a small bonus. And now for the one downside. Apparently their stump grinder was in use elsewhere, because they promised to return to remove the stump of the large Leland when they were out in the area again. After a week, I called and was told they had not forgotten and they'd be out 'soon'. Tomorrow it will have been three weeks since the work was done....the stump is now getting on my nerves and I decided it was time to do this report.

Steven came out to do the estimate and advised that the tree in the back was a safety hazard. He gave me a very reasonable estimate for the removal along with the small trees in front. He was very knowledgable regarding trees to be removed and what could be saved. Just 2 days later his crew was here promptly at the time given. They were polite, personable and VERY efficient. The trees were down in just over an hour and they cleaned up all debri and left the yard looking better than before they came! I would highly recommend them to anyone needing tree work or pruning.

The roots had been pretty much demolished when someone else came in to fix our septic tank. So the tree had to come down because I was worried of it falling due to hurricane or something. They did a really good job. I rate them highly because I had got several different bids and they were reasonable and came highly recommended. I would use them in the future.

I called CS Tree Services mid-morning on 2/23. The owner was nearby and said he could stop by for an evaluatioin in 15 min. He promptly showed up and I explained what I wanted done. He made very good suggestions that saved $$. He told me they could be here the next day at 8:30 am to do the job which would take approximately 1 hour. They showed up on time, did their work, cleaned up and were gone within an hour. My two trees are gone and my Crepe Myrtle trees look good. I definitely will call them again.

When I was given an estimate about 10 days earlier, the tree expert and I together examined the trees in the front yard. He said CS's minimum charge was $300, so he wanted to make sure I got my money's worth. He suggested trims that I hadn't considered. On my estimate, he made a detailed sketch of the yard and of the trees that needed to be trimmed. Five employees in three trucks showed up right on time, trimmed the trees that were described in the estimate, and the two others that we decided to add. They did the work quickly, cleaned up every scrap of debris in the yard, and were gone in under one hour. They did a superb job.

Just fine. Good job at a reasonable price.

I left a message at the office and Steven contacted me that day to set up an appointment for an estimate. When he came out we discussed our options, he even offered to try to trim those hanging over the roof so that we could keep some shade. We wanted to keep the chippings to use as mulch and fill and to try to keep some costs down. I discussed concerns we had about the weight of equipment on our water lines and talked about the different types of equipment he could use. I had contacted three companies for estimates, Steven was not the cheapest but I was impressed with his promptness in getting back to me and with his professionalism. I wasn't able to be home the day the work was done but Steven called when they were half way done and to make sure I wanted them to leave all the chippings (there was alot more than I imagined). My yard and driveway were raked and swept clean when I got home. The only evidence that they were here was in the sand dune size pile of chippings! :)

The first date had to be postponed due to inclement weather, but the next week the work crew showed up on time and got to work. They finished by 3:00 in the afternoon, having taken down a large branch off another tree (not included in the original contract) and cleaned up the yard. Very professional job, and we are happy with their work.

Overall service was excellent. They came out ahead of schedule to grind one stump so that I could spend the weekend landscaping in that area. The two trees to be removed were close to other trees and close to our neighbor's property. They expertly removed both trees without damaging the other trees or the neighbor's property. Afterwards they ground the two stumps just low enough not to be an eyesore but not too deep as to risk damaging the roots of the other trees. I have used three other tree service companies, and they are the best of all I have used.

Have used before as well. Always do a great job.
