Carolina Exteriors Plus

Wesley was very efficient in his contacts with us and stayed on top of the work. The crew was very accommodating and responsive to our questions and requests. They worked quickly and did a thorough and quality job. We had one hiccup in which the plan of work had an incorrect direction which neither I nor the contractor noticed until after the work was done. Clifton, the owner, was willing to pay for the work entirely, but I did not feel that was quite fair since the work done benefitted me so we split the cost, which I felt was fair. Prior to the work being done I had my lawn reseeded. The construction work trampled my new grass. Without my asking, Wesley offered to have the lawn reseeded and aerated which was done at their expense. All in all, this was a positive experience for us and I will call Clifton again for additional estimates for other work.

Overall, my wife and I are very pleased with the finished product. Our house looks brand new from the outside. I liked Clifton, the owner, from the start. We walked around the house and talked about what I had in mind. He told me about the residing process and how different aspects of the job like electrical meters, faucets, etc. would be handled. He pointed out some things where a slight change would be necessary (like a piece of trim that wouldn't be as wide) because of what was available in the Hardie catalog of products. I didn't feel a high pressure sales pitch that I felt from some of the other siding people I talked to. He even offered some suggestions that I could use no matter who I decided to go with. They started the work earlier than scheduled and completed on time. The crew respected the time I requested that they work during the day. The job site was clean at the end of each day, with no debris laying around. Everything was put in the dumpster. While the crew was good, they did miss a couple of items which were addressed to my satisfaction once I submitted the punch list. There was one item that gave me some concern while dealing with CEP and that had to do with the communication up front. I met Clifton on Wednesday. He told me I would have an estimate by Thursday or Friday of that week. It wasn't until the Thursday following that I actually received that bid. Then I made some revisions, and that took about a week as well for the updated bid. Then when I sent in the deposit, I saw that they cashed the check, but I didn't hear from them for a couple of days. I would have like to have received some acknowledgement that they had the check and would get me in the schedule. Fortunately, the communication was good once the project started.

We have lived in North Carolina for nearly 16 years, and I can honestly say that Carolina Exteriors Plus was by far the most professional, customer service driven company that we've worked with. Originally, the job was planned to take one day, but required more time than that. Rather than rush to try and finish in one day, they took the necessary time to do the job right. We are so pleased with the work that was done. We were kept informed at all steps along the way while the work progressed. Wesley was absolutely wonderful. He supervised the work and made sure that we were happy with the results. While CEP wasn't the cheapest estimate that we had, we felt comfortable with our choice of companies. We certainly were right. They will definitely be at the top of our list for any additional work that we may need.

We were very satisfied with everything from the get go. The cost estimate that was provided was considering all the work that had to be done. The quality of work performed was excellent. It was done thoroughly. Wesley, who coordinated all the work, was very pleasant and professional. He explained the entire scope of the work very clearly and made sure on each day that the work had to be done that he came and discussed what was done and if were satiisfied. The two people who did all the work did a high quality job. The dormers that had to replaced looked very good after the work that was done and the paint chosen there as well as for the repairs on the side-garage door matched very well. If I had a similar wood working type project, I would have no hesitation using Caroline Exterior again.

I contacted Carolina Exteriors Plus during a very busy summer and Wesley made time to come out to quote the quick job to do. I had been away on vacation while the work was done, but got home and siding was replaced. Great job done, I could barely tell anyone was there, and the fact that I could trust them while no one was home, speaks highly of Carolina Exteriors Plus.

Carolina Exteriors Plus did a wonderful job and were a pleasure to work with from the initial estimate to the final walkthrough. Clifton walked through the estimate with me, explaining which pieces needed to be replaced and why. Wesley kept me informed along the way and was always fast to answer any questions I had. During the work they kept the area tidy and also completely cleaned up behind themselves when the job was done. We had a gutter guard break upon removal and Wesley was fast to replace it at no cost to me. Wesley did a final walkthrough with me and wow, did our house look amazing! I will being using Carolina Exteriors Plus for all my future needs :)

Clifton responded back promptly to our request for a quote and we arranged for a time for him to come and take measurements and for us to review the options available. Clifton was very knowledgeable about the HardiPlank product line, and provided us with samples of the product, as well as examples of homes in our area that he had recently re-sided with the products we were considering. Being able to see the product and the quality of their work on other homes helped tremendously in our decision-making process. We had obtained 2 other quotes which were both slightly higher. Price was definitely a factor, but since the quotes were close our final decision on which company to hire came down to a matter of the rapport and trust we had with Carolina Exteriors Plus, and in Clifton. After more measurements and final color decisions, we provided a deposit and Clifton ordered our materials and provided us with an estimated start date about 3 weeks out. The windows and siding arrived as Clifton had approximated, but we had to wait about 1 additional week to get the projects started (partially because of our schedule). The 13 old windows were removed and new ones installed in less than a day. The very qualified crew (led by Gorge) started on the siding the next day and the work lasted approximately 2 weeks.... they ran out of siding just before completing, and because we had ordered a custom color it took about 1 week to receive the last bit needed to complete the project. Clifton checked (on site) on the progress nearly every day, and was very helpful with on-the-fly adjustments. We are very pleased with the final results....the attentiveness, the quality, and the personal-touches that Clifton and his crew provided.

In short, I would hire them again in a minute. They were the best company I quoted in terms of communication by far and their pricing was competitive, especially for an Angie's List A-rated supplier. I am very satisfied with the work that was performed and even more satisfied with the quick responses to all of my questions throughout the job. The crew was fantastic and easy to work with. They knew what they were doing and did not need a lot of direction. They did not try to unduly influence the design but made their suggestions for my consideration and implemented the plan perfectly. Clifton took copious notes in the beginning and actually remembered the design discussions better than I did! They did have a little bad luck with the shutters, receiving the non-louvred ones instead of louvred. But, that was fixed within about a week and could have happened to any company. I would , without reservation, highly recommend this company for your siding needs.

The job went extremely well. Clifton communicated the work to be performed, timeframe, and costs. The estimated costs turned out to be exactly what was charged. The work was very high quality. The old siding, shingles, and window frames were cleaned up properly. Once the work was started, it was completed within 3 days. I would recommend Carolina Exteriors Plus to other prospective customers. I will be using them down the road when I need my roof replaced.

Clifton and Wes were absolutely fantastic to work with. The price was fantastic, the quality of work was A+, and the workers couldn't have been more friendly. They had the yard cleaned up everyday before they left, and got the entire house finished in a small amount of time. Next time I need work done, I'm definitely calling these guys. I'd recommend them to anyone.

I contacted Carolina Exteriors Plus after viewing all the positive Angie?s List feedback. I wanted the Masonite siding on my house replaced. Clifton came to my house promptly and did a thorough inspection. He gave me several options and the pros and cons of each. Clifton spent a lot of time with me explaining the issues with my siding and explaining the company?s philosophy on how to make the repairs (the James Hardie approach). I decided on the Color Plus hybrid option. Included in the contract was replacement of a rotted door. Later we added the replacement of two windows as a change order. The project didn't start as early as I expected but because of all the rain this summer. I totally understood. The delay was no problem for me. I was kind of demanding about asking for a start date. I understand now that it?s difficult to project a start date when weather is a factor and other projects are in the queue. When the project start date was finalized, the crew arrived as expected. They worked from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. The crew worked non-stop ? they only took a lunch break each day. I was so impressed with their work ethic. And before they left every evening, they completely cleaned up the work site. I am delighted with the results. My house looks like a new house. I came up with a few punch list items at the end of the project and they were addressed promptly. I want to give a completely honest review. We had one issue. A nail hit my air conditioning line and I lost all the Freon to my upstairs air conditioner. The existing line couldn?t be repaired and had to be rerouted. Carolina Exteriors Plus accepted my proof of the accidental nailing issue. They reimbursed me for the AC repairs. Also, they asked for pictures (which I provided) to educate their crew about similar problems in the future. I am very satisfied with the results of my project. I?d especially like to thank Wesley for staying on top of everything.

The owner Clifton is a very personable, honest individual and runs a very transparent business. Any issues or questions we had were handled quickly and efficiently. His siding crew was very efficient, and kept the work areas clear of debris as well as a very thorough clean up each and every evening. They were very respectful and made every effort to protect the greenery around my home throughout the siding process. We are very pleased with Carolina Exteriors and have recommended them to our friends and will contact them again when we are ready to replace our existing windows.

We could not be happier with the siding or the workmanship done by Carolina Exteriors Plus. We worked out the planning with Clifton who then returned with documented details of what they would do....in detail. I'm an engineer and very familiar with home construction so greatly appreciated the detailed explanation of the materials and the process. Once the scheduled start date arrived work commenced very rapidly. The crew arrived early and cleaned up every day at quitting time which was helpful especially with 2 young children in the house. Clifton provided status during the work either via email or phone calls which shows he knows customers. The majority of the job was completed in about a week with a few minor items completed in another couple of days. The choice we had was to either paint the original Masonite siding or replace it all with Colorplus. Replacement was the right choice....especially after seeing the siding and the workmanship. We have to compliment his and his company's honesty as well. The original estimate was planned to replace some frieze boards, but when work started they found the originals were in great shape and didn't need to be replaced. The estimate was reduced to account for the change. Many contractors do a good job, but character and honesty are what sets them apart. Should I or anyone I know need any exterior work done Clifton/Carolina Exteriors Plus will definitely be my first choice.

After finding out about Carolina Exteriors Plus through searching on Angie's List, we contacted the company to request an estimate to repair our damaged siding. Within four hours of the request, we received a phone call from the company in regards to setting up an appointment for the estimate. Shortly after that, the company sent us an email confirming the appointment for five days later. On the day of the appointment, Clifton arrived at our home on time and was very professional. He looked at everything we wanted and took notes and pictures of the areas needing attention. He said a bid packet would be prepared and sent to us. After one week of not hearing anything, we emailed the company and inquired if an estimate was on its way soon. Six days after that, we received an email with an apology for not getting back to us. It stated the company was finishing the bid packet and would get it to us as soon as possible. After another three days, we were finally emailed the bid packet. It contained a detailed estimate, pictures of the house with notes highlighting specific repairs, and customer references. We were very pleased with the bid packet and decided to move forward with using this company to do our repairs. After notifying the company of our decision, we received the contract within two days. We took Clifton up on his offer to meet in person to finalize the contract. Four days later, Clifton asked us to just sign the contract and send it and a deposit of 10% to him instead of meeting. One week after sending him these items, he emailed us and asked if it would be okay to begin work on the repairs the next day. The workers arrived very early the following morning to begin work. They completed most of the repairs in the approximately twelve hours they stayed that day. Clifton sent us an update that night. The workers returned about the same time the day after and finished their work in a few hours. Later that day, the company called us to schedule a walk-through and final sign off for two days later. A gentleman came out as scheduled for a final inspection, and he answered all of our questions and removed leftover materials from our property. A few hours later, the company called to verify that the job was completed to our satisfaction and to thank us for our business. Despite a few delays in communication, we are happy with the work that has been done and will definitely consider using Carolina Exteriors Plus in the future.

Wes provided an accurate, competitive quote and was in constant contact throughout the job. He took pictures for reference and continually took notes to make sure those on the job site knew what special requests I had and what was expected. Wes and Arturo went above and beyond in repairing the fence in great detail to a point where it looks brand new. They replaced rotted parts of the fence and added a rot board as well. They stained the fence and deck with a solid stain and used great detail in ensuring it was perfect. I would definitely us them for future services and highly recommend them.

I was very impressed with the skills of the crew working on my home. It took them no time do the repairs and paint the house. They constructed wall mounts for my exterior lights and a new door for my crawl space on site that looked better than anything I could have bought. The end result looks amazing! I have received several compliments from my neighbors about the work I had done. I am very pleased with the service I received from Clifton and his team. If you want a company with excellent customer service and that will give you results that you will be pleased with at a fair and reasonable price, you should give Carolina Exteriors Plus a call.

The house looks fantastic. We shopped around a lot on that and they were very competitive. They did an outstanding job. I have already also referred them to multiple people.

Clifton was extremely professional. It surprised me that on his first visit we discussed my project, he inspected my home and took many picture.s Then he told me he would take time to review the pictures & plan the project; write up a proposal & identify the areas that needed to be repaired first with a cost brake down for each section of the house. He scheduled a second appt. to discuss the project & proposal. He had a proposal down to the penny, including a breakdown for any additional"unseen" repairs that may be discovered. Using his IPad he was able to zoom in on the areas of concern & show me why he rated some as "must be done" and others "can be done". We planned for a start date within a 2 week window that was most convenient for me. Clifton emailed me about a week before the start date to give me a tighter window & then a day or two before the actual day. The team arrived on day as planned and worked from early morning until 5pm every day- sometimes later. Before leaving each night the property was cleaned of debris & no danger to the kids or dogs. Other than the days of pouring rain the team was here every day until the job was completed. They were a pleasure to have work on my home. Their workmanship and attention to detail was excellent. Once the project was 95% completed Clifton asked me to send him a "punch list" of anything that needed attention. They took care of every item on the list- and asked me to look around the house again. I had an additional 3 days to double & triple check if there was anything I wanted touched up. There were very few items to be addressed but even the smallest (maybe little picky items ) received utmost attention to correct up to my expectations. throughout the whole process my home and I were treated with respect & care. One additional, but important detail, is related to the payment schedule Clifton outlined on the day I accepted his proposal. The terms - 10% on acceptance, 40% the day the materials & the team were at the job, 40% the day the painting started and 10% after the punch list was completed & I was 100% happy with the outcome. I happened to have a medical emergency the day the painting started and was not home to provide the next payment. When I spoke to Clifton a few days later he told me not to worry about it, to focus on my health and get well we would settle up when everything was done & the punch list was taken care of. Other contractors want 50% up front and are banging on your door to get paid before the job is even done. As it turned out, due to my situation and the rain, it was almost two weeks before I paid the balance. Unbelievable!!!!! What a pleasure to have found this professional, honest, hard-working team. They will be my "go to" guys whenever I need work done on my home and I recommend them without hesitation.

They were here for a week, and despite the bad weather, they worked right through it. They had to replace a lot of wood that was in bad condition before they could even begin painting. They are a pleasure to work with, they did exactly what they said they would do. They did a wonderful job. They took photos along the way since I was out of town during the project. My house looked brand new! I can't praise them enough! This family owned business is awesome! Very dependable. They even replaced some molding along the roof line and did not charge me for it. Above and beyond my expectations!

Great experience from begining to end. Had several other Angie's List contractors come out and give me estimates. Clifton by far was the most professional and took the most time to look over the house for needed repairs. Clifton then set up a time to come back to the house to go over his estimate with me. He went through the estimate line by line to make sure he did not miss anything and that there would be no surprises. I was in a time crunch to get the work completed, Clifton and his crew were able to adjust their schedule to meet mine. Workers showed up on time, kept the work area very neat, were very professional and updated me each day on the progress. Not only did Clifton and his crew beat the estimated completion by a day, the estimate was right on with no change orders (I don't think I have ever had a job come in on budget!). For future siding needs, my only call will be to Carolina Exteriors Plus.

Clifton responded promptly to my request for an estimate, and within a week submitted a very detailed and reasonable itemized proposal. His crew turned up early each morning and worked solidly for five days. They were very professional, courteous, responsive and pleasant at all times. We are absolutely thrilled with the look of our new house! It is very satisfying to know that we will not have to worry about rot and water damage again due to the durability of the Hardie products. The project went slightly over budget (less than 10%) due to extensive underlying damage to the chimney and dormer windows that was revealed only after stripping away the existing siding. My only minor criticism is that communication was somewhat slack leading up to the start date, probably because Clifton is light on the admin side, but failure to confirm is not the same as notification of a postponement. Altogether a high quality job at a reasonable price, and I would definitely use this company for any future work on the house.

One word sums up the work completed by Carolina Exteriors Plus ... Professional. We are very pleased with the overall craftsmanship and quality of the work provided. Estimate and pre planning quotes with smoothly ... no pressure sales approach. Questions were answered without any "sales fast talk " - Clifton has a great knowledge of his products. The crew hits the ground running - no standing around trying to look busy. Real "team work' is evident. Clockwork operation. Any delays incurred were weather related and not the oops we don't have that piece of material. Great friendly crew, from the boss on down, easy to talk to and if any questions or concerns arose, they were handled in a timely professional manner. Recommendations made were made to improve the house and not from a few more $ sales point of view. One great advantage of working with CE ... their working relationship with the Hardi Plank reps ... reassuring when the reps looked over the work completed and gave their "OK". Not only is CE's name on the line but also Hardi Planks'. Both obviously take pride in the work and the Hardi product. Gutter repacement went without a hitch .. looks great. Entire crew worked cleanly, debris was policed daily. Our only word of concern , was the paint crew ... deck etc. Just seemed to be in a rush. Had to have them come back a second time for some additional work. Little sloppy in some areas. B - on the paint. Overall, CE exceeded our expections.
