The staff seemed very nice. Preston seemed great and told me he would put the same flooring in that he was using for his daughter. The job was never finished. If you work with Preston, don't pay until it is ALL of the way done. They strung us along for about a year and then just stopped responding. There are areas where: planks don't reach the wall (in every room and in the hall way), the boards weren't sealed, there are large gaps between the boards, areas of the stain were left unsanded, other spots are missing stain, and they left the railing off. The railing was just sitting in the hall. They hadn't even drilled the holes in the steps so they could be replaced. We hired someone else to at least get the railing back up. With 4 kids running up & down, it was just too dangerous. It's a shame. It could have been beautiful. We paid a lot of money. Now we are going to have to pay again to have someone else try to correct it. I'll add photos.
Description of Work: We were installing hardwood on the second and third floors.

We hired Apex Floor and Tile to install the bamboo flooring we had purchased throughout the 1st floor of our house. When the job was about half way done, we noticed that their sub-contractor had scratched the bamboo during the installation and there was glue smeared all over the floor. He then used a lacquer thinner to buff and clean the floor. The floor manufacturer specifically states not to use mineral spirits on the bamboo flooring, so the installer had just destroyed the 10-coat scratch resistant finish. We also learned at a later point that they used the wrong glue for the installation. Apex Floor and Tile initially agreed to remove the installed floor and take care of any damages that might occur during the removal process, replace the damaged flooring at their cost and bring in another sub-contractor to finish the project. They reordered the bamboo; however it was not a good color match to the original floor we had purchased. There was an obvious difference in color and shade. Unfortunately, it wasn’t noticeable until after the flooring was fully installed because it was stacked for acclimatization. So we just have to live with it at this point. During the floor removal process, the sub-floor was damaged as well as our brand new walls, the kitchen toe kick and kitchen island panel. The second sub-contractor they sent out tried to convince us to do a click installation of the floor rather than the glue installation we had asked for. After we declined, he refused to install the flooring at all. At this point, it went downhill with Apex Floor and Tile. They refused to repair the damages, refused to compensate us for the damages and they informed us that we were better off hiring another contractor to complete the project. We went back and forth with them but they wouldn’t budge. So we had to find new contractors to repair the damages and to install the flooring. Once everything was completed, we sent Apex Floor and Tile a compensation request. After weeks of back and forth again, they finally agreed to pay us. It wasn’t until I followed up with them a week later that they actually wrote us the check and dropped it off. All in all, a disappointing experience that caused us almost two months of delays in our remodeling process and lots of stress and headaches. We do not recommend Apex Floor and Tile.

Fantastic. Easy to work with. We divided work between Apex Floor and myself. They did demo and work as described. I did my own vanity, counter top, shower glass,

The project was to replace a fiberglass shower and garden tub with a tiled shower and soaking tub. Project should have taken 2-3 weeks, but took over 3 months. The project allowed for a complete remove and rebuild thus the work was a clean slate, but AF&T still managed over the three months to put in the tub askew and install a leaky shower (has to retile three times and had the glass uninstalled and reinstalled to waterproof the knee wall that was never done). The amount of tile used was three times the amount needed since every time AF&T screwed up they would rip out the new tile and replace. AF&T used all the tile I had purchased and thus I could not finish the other side of the bath. Over 120 text or emails, and 5 personal vacation days I expended to manage the project. And never was there ever an apology, just an arrogance as AF&T continued to screw-up. There was no project management, clean-up, or verification of work. The bait and switch tactics of what they "could" do and what they "were" was maddening. The best was when the tiler showed up at my house unannounced to tell me that AT&F were not going to pay him - this was crazy. The project costs was 5K but we settled out for less since I was prepared to go to court. Use this company at your own risk. I'm cancelling my Angies List membership cause I don't believe in a system were a company this poor can get this good a rating. So if there is a response - I don't care I will not use them again and their warranty is useless since I would not have them in my house again. It has taken me this long to post since I'm still ******, but it's time to close out this project and my Angies' list sub.

Getting calls returned initially and getting on the schedule was a bit of a challenge. However, once that was done, the project started promptly, moved quickly and communication and responsiveness were excellent. Jonathan led the project and was great to work with. He was professional and went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied with the project at every step. All other workers and contracted services were timely and professional as well. We are very happy with the quality of the work and with how our bathroom remodel turned out. We highly recommend Apex Floor and Tile for any project! -Michele B.

They came highly recomended by a company doing work on my house so i had them come out to do and estimate. Preston came out said he would get back to us with an estimate that was 3 weeks ago. And after several calls still no call back. I have no choice but to go with someone else. I find it very rude and unprofessional not to at least call back a potential client especially when another business is recommending them.

Three people came to complete the work and it took one day. They left the area very clean, couldn't tell they were even there. I would tell friends and family they were excellent. Everything went smooth and the work was beautiful when they were finished. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them or use them again.
Description of Work: They put ceramic tile in our laundry room and spare bathroom. They also replaced the carpet in the office.
