Tom was great! Evaluated my system; located the problem after searching for my zone water valves ( who knew these things even existed-not me !) and fixed the spliced wire in the non-working zone. He was professional, explained everything, didn't try to sell me anything and spent time making sure everything was as it should be. He even re-located a sprinkler head that was buried in my my mulch. I felt his price was fair and his work excellent; I will be using him for all of my irrigation tasks.

Our irrigation system stopped working completely when we were in desperate to water the newly seeded lawn. I called three companies found on Angel's list yesterday. Tom was the first one who called me back and actually the only one. I still haven't heard from other two companies as of now. After I described our problems over the phone, he said that he is pretty sure what went wrong and told us how to fix it. He also said that he would come over next day If system was still not working after trying his suggestion. Tom was absolutely right. My husband followed his advice and the sprinkler is back to work! Tom saved us $$$ by offering a professional opinion over the phone. We are very impressed by his honesty and professionalism. He will definitely be our go-to guy for all future work!

Tom was on time and honest with me from the begining. We went a bit over the origianl estimation, but he let me know and also explained why before he proceeeded with any more work. I already knew as we ran into a lot of difficulties with this irrigation system. They ended up being on site 3 days and were on time each day. I am happy to say that my system is functioning properly and they also do a nice job of clean up and did not do more damage to my yard than was necessary. I recommend this company and would use them again, but hopefully I won't need to.

Called Tom on Sunday, he came on Monday to look at sprinkler head leak. Repaired the leak in a difficult location (near tree with large roots). He then installed a different head to provide better coverage to the surrounding area and moved it further away from the tree. This required additional digging to relocate the head further from the tree. Tom provided interesting information about the tree and how to prune it to provide best results for the lawn and the tree. Tom indicated he had previously worked as a tree surgeon and had a degree in Botany. I felt confident that the job would be completed properly and as it turned out I thought for the work done, improvements to the system and the new heads installed that his services were well worth the amount he charged.

Tom was knowledgeable, responsive, friendly, and did quality work at a reasonable price. Based on my experience, I would use his help again.

I signed up for Tom's $185 agreement--for that he blew debris out the irrigation lines, replaced a solenoid, cleaned out two sticky valves, adjusted the sprinkler heads, relocated a sprinkler head, and took care to provide the Town where we live with its annual back-flow valve certification. Tom will come back in the fall to "winterize" the system. Tom also replaced the sprinkler controller (old one was likely installed when the house was new--some 20 years ago). He also readjusted the "rain shut off switch"--which turns the system off when it is/was/has been raining--for that parts and labor were $215. Much more modern and easier to use controller. Definitely will use Tom in the future. He's very conscientious, professional, cost effective, and focused on doing the job right the first time.

Tom was very quick to respond to my repair request to a leaking irrigation system. I had two other guys look at the system and they were unable to adequately repair the system, as a matter of fact they were a little over their heads given the severity of the repair needed with my system. Tom was great to work with, not only did he not shy away from the problem - he attacked it head-on and resolved it. In my opinion, his general maintenance contract costs just little more than the average vendor, but I think in this case you're getting what you pay for and if you get into a bind with your system Tom is there and will fix it (unlike the others I had tried using.) I would also add that his general repair costs (like head replacement) seem to be a little below average.

I called on Friday morning & left a message describing my basic irrigation needs. Tom called me back within an hour & listened to what I needed done. We scheduled the meeting for Saturday, 26 April @ 10:00am. (I should note that most irrigation contractors on Angie's List that I considered didn't work on Saturdays - this was a great win for me from a customer service standpoint.) Tom arrived at 9:40am. I showed him where the water was "leaking" in my yard & explained I suspected a stuck valve. Tom helped me find the valves & in just a few minutes he confirmed the value was sticking & had it cleaned out. He was very thorough & explained everything he was doing. I was relieved to have the issue found & corrected so quickly. When I asked Tom what the cost was he said $85.00 - his basic rate for a service call. Which I thought was more than reasonable. Since during the work Tom had explained that taking the backflow preventer off in the winter that that is often how a little dirt gets into the system & causes a valve to stick, I asked him about how much his annual service contract cost. Tom said his annual contract was $185.00 & included the annual backflow inspection & winter & spring maintenance. I told him I'd like to sign up for an annual contract and asked if he could do our annual inspection while he was here. Tom said if I was signing up for an annual contract he would only charge us $185.00 total for the call including the service call to find and fix the sticking valve. What a bargain! The annual inspection alone, in the past, has normally cost me $95.00 from other contractors. Tom performed the annual the backflow preventer inspection & again explained everything he was doing. While we were talking I mentioned that one part of the yard was often wetter than I liked, but other than reducing the cycle time I didn't know what to do about it. Tom looked at it & said because of the slope of the yard we could reduce the flow on one of the down slope heads. When he went to show me how to do it we discovered that the install contractor has used a fix flow head so he said he would install an adjustable one & showed me how to adjust it so I could make any changes I thought warranted. He gave me the original head & did not charge me anything for the new adjustable one or for the extra time. Tom then asked what zone times were programmed & I said I knew the times were in the control box, but didn't know without looking. He asked if I'd like him to check them. I said I would be very happy if he could check them. Tom then gave me a very thorough explanation of how to set my system controller - much better & more thorough than the contractor did when the system was installed. He even set my drip zone to my flower pots so that it would work more effectively for my plants. Again no extra charge for the time. I wish I had found Tom when I had the system installed. Tom is a fantastic contractor who provides exceptional customer service. I bought a annual contract from him because of the great customer service he provided & will never let anyone else touch my irrigation system again. If you need irrigation system work call Tom you will not be sorry.

He was able to provide advice on how to set the system and we walked through the system. He also filed the backflow certification with company which is something that other people would charge separately. He cleaned up after himself and he did an excellent job.

Absolute responded quickly to my irrigation leak. I had to shut off the system but needed it back on quickly since we were putting a new lawn in. Absolute came the day after my call and worked to find the leak and repair it. I appreciate how quickly they responded and patience in working with a system they didn't install to find the problem and fix it.

One of my sprinkler zones malfunctioned on Saturday. It would not stop spraying. The person that was previously taking care of my irrigation told me he could not come out to repair it until the following week, he was too busy. So I had to find someone who could come out sooner. We searched Angie's List and found Absolute Irrigation (Tom Gemperlein). He agreed to come out the same day I called him (a Saturday), even though my home is not in the part of town he normally services. He arrived within the hour and stopped the leak. He returned the next day with the parts he needed to repair the zone. We were very impressed with and grateful for Tom's responsiveness, knowledge and professionalism. Tom also helped me update the schedule settings for my entire irrigation system, to save water and provide better irrigation for the lawn and plants. I purchased an annual service contract with Absolute Irrigation and look forward to another year of excellent service from Tom.

The owner took time to go through each sprinkler in each zone, adjusting the spray and rotation. We had some problem heads and replaced on the spot at a very reasonable price. He even didn't mind my daughter tagging along and watch him. We trust him and he is a true professional. I would highly recommend Absolute Irrigation.
