Another great job by Anthony! We have been living with extremely uneven heating & cooling in a family room addition for over 20 years. When the fan unit on the downstairs heat pump finally failed, we agreed a replacement unit was long overdue. Anthony installed a temporary replacement fan to keep us going while we decided on the replacement. I knew it was time to start over, and Anthony was the only one I would trust to engineer the solution to our vexing problem. He knows the latest technology (he teaches seminars for HVAC technicians and is a certified geothermal installer). He investigated geothermal at my request, but it did not make sense in my location. Anthony was able to identify the cause of our problem (inadequate air exchange to the family room, undersized ducts, thermostat controls temperature in another area. He provided three recommendations (good, better, best). Anthony provided an objective explanation of the reasoning for each recommendation, and compared the likely results we could expect with each option. There was no pressure to make a specific selection, the advantage of dealing with a master technician instead of a salesman. We chose the 'best' option - did not want to live with uneven temperature for another 20 years! This included a dual stage heat pump (natural gas unavailable), reengineered duct work, and digital thermostat with a remote sensor also allowed average of the temperature in two area so both would be comfortable. Installation was outstanding, as it was when he replaced our upstairs unit in 2010. The family room is comfortable for the first time ever! Later discovered he included dampers to all the main ducts so he could 'tweak' the output as required Great job, we were very satisfied.

They responded to my call promptly and a service man was at my house in an hour. He replaced the part and was on his way.

On the day before we left for vacation, we noticed water accumulating and overflowing from our drip pan below our main level HVAC unit. We initially called Air Experts and A. Maynor. Air Experts called back first and so we set up a diagnostic and repair with them. We had a friend let the service person Air Experts in since we were on vacation. The repair man came on the late side of his estimated time of arrival. When he was done our friend contacted us and let us chat with the service provider. He stated that we would need a whole new HVAC unit and that it would run somewhere around $5000 (min) to approx. $10,000 (max). He added that someone from their company would contact me shortly with an estimate. Nobody called back with an estimate (even with multiple attempts at contact from my end). We then contacted A. Maynor Heating and A/C for a second opinion and to try to get 2 estimates. The repair man from A. Maynor came the very next day and was able to repair the unit for $195.00. This repair man said that the compressor could potentially go out in a few months, but then added that it could go on to work for several more years since it was only 7 years old. He added that the replacement compressor would run between $1800 and $2200 and that if it were him, he would wait and see what happens before spending the money. When we came home from vacation and the A/C is still working fine. I have subsequently set up a service agreement with A. Maynor.

Excellent service and follow up by both Anthony (owner) and his specialists! I have a second system that was likewise left untested and I'll have this company complete its startup when needed.

The response was timely, the technicians were knowledgeable, focused and professional. What impressed me was the lead technician solved the problem quickly with no parts required and did not attempt to up-sell me or run up the bill by performing unnecessary work or replacing parts that were working. I am a retired facility engineer and have been working with HVAC companies for many years and it seems my prayers to find an honest reliable HVAC company have finally been answered. I will definitely call A. Maynor HVAC next time I have an HVAC problem.

I have never had a more satisfying encounter with a an HVAC shop. My experience mirrors that of other customer reviews. Techs were punctual, profesional and courteous. Moreover, they were straight-talkers and quick to understand my particular circumstances. They tailored the level of service and cost (something I reqested) to accommodate my situation. This is a local operation with only three techs -- among the reasons why I picked the service -- that cares about quality and customer service/satisfaction. i will be replacing my unit within the year. Guess which company will have first crack at the job.

At first we thought this problem was covered on a home warranty. The company sent by the home warranty service made a vague diagnosis that turned out to be incorrect and was later unresponsive in returning my calls. I spoke with some other companies and learned that many contractors do not even work on this type of system. A Maynor was very responsive (via text, email, and phone). The proprietor Anthony Maynor and his assistant Dean were both very polite, pleasant, and professional. Initially thrown off by the diagnosis I cited from the previous company, it took a few visits to get a correct diagnosis of the problem. Mr. Manynor was apologetic about this, even though it was not his fault. He was very patient, helpful and knowledgeable as he took the time to explain my options and answer my questions at several junctures. Ultimately, he ordered and replaced the outdoor unit of this heat/AC system, as well as a circuit board on the indoor unit, which was probably what caused the compressor failure on the outdoor unit. The cost turned out to be very close to his initial estimate despite the multiple visits and the additional service needed on the indoor unit. I am glad to have found a contractor that I can trust to call in the future for all of my heating and A/C needs.

He has been fantastic. He is reasonably priced and responds really quickly if anything comes up. He is also good about following up and keeping in contact.

Anthony Maynor provided in-depth, detailed explanations and answers to our questions BEFORE we signed up for a large replacement project (upstairs & downstairs heating and A/C units and carbon monoxide detectors). He provided a competitive price and completely replaced the two ancient zone HVAC units in our new home in two days after we closed on the home in mid December. Their pleasant, professional, experienced team were great to work with. At each step, Anthony took time to explain what they found and had to do, so we understood the issues that were discovered after the old units were removed. After both systems were installed and operating, Anthony was terrific in explaining the best ways to set the heat and A/C units for optimal performance, as well as owner care and owner going forward. He also coordinated the important town inspection approval process a breeze. The heater has performed flawlessly these first two months. We expect the A/C will perform equally well when needed this Spring. Anthony also explained that they would come back to fully test the A/C unit this Spring before the high heat season arrives 9this is normal since A/C cannot/should not be tested/run when air temp is under 60 or so - can damage the compressor units). This was our second Trane HVAC installation, having had a 1 zone system in our former home in NJ. The Maynor team and installation were, simply, outstanding. We learned of them through our real estate agent, and are happy to provide this review. We highly recommend Maynor to anyone looking for new HVAC systems or service in the greater Raleigh area.

Wow! What nice people. Dean came out and was attentive and listened to the problems I brought up. He checked out everything and offered advice to have us run more efficiently. He was neat too inside the house which I really appreciated. He made me feel like they really care.

I can't say enough nice things about Anthony and the crew he works with. They're extremely professional, knowledgeable, honest and neat. Anthony has replaced three of our HVAC units over the past ten years in the two homes we've owned and always done a great job. He installs quality equipment and his work is consistently excellent. I always trust his judgement and have never felt he was trying to sell me more than what I absolutely needed. I will definitely use him again for all my air conditioning needs.

Anthony provided an estimate for replacement of my HVAC system. He was very polite and professional. I felt he was being very honest and straight forward. He appeared to know his trade and could answer technical questions clearly. I did not actually purchase my system from him but that was purely a timing issue rather than a reflection on the company.

My unit had not been serviced in a couple of years, so it needed thorough attention. Use again?: Yes or No does not quite cover it. I have had worse, and he did respond to my issues, so: Use Again = probably. but may try someone else, will decide next time after I see what happens between now and then. UPDATE: Subsequently, one week after the service call, crawl space unit leaked and water ponded in my crawl space. Drain line apparently was not checked/cleaned out and but was partly knocked askew. Took a week to find and two more weeks to dry out after i crawled in there to finish the job Negatives: The extra touches were not so much in evidence. It was apparent he did not intend to clean out the AC unit fan compartment (leaves accumulated inside) until I asked about it. Also was washing the coil form the outside. It was also apparent he was not going to wash out the coil from the inside with the hose, since he did not remove the fan compartment cover, until I asked about that. Did not check thermostat operation inside house. Positives; Tech did wait for the pressure to stabilize before assessing whether gas was low (was not). Did appear to be knowledgeable and thorough with system checks and electronic components.

100% satisfied. I think you could beat his price with the high volume hvac contractors but Anthony gives clear, honest advise; does a great job, and backs up his work. Highly recommended.

I have known Anthony Maynor of Maynor Mechanical for 15 years. Anthony and his team have keep my hvac system alive well beyond the normal life expectancy. I decided to have the complete system replaced in December with a high efficiency Trane two speed system. Maynor Mechanical is the best Mechanical Contractors I have ever had the please to do business with. Anthony showed up on time, was aware of my schedule and installed a superb system. I would recommend Maynor Mechanical to anyone, they are excellent at their trade.

I have been dealing with Herner Heating & AC. Anthony Maynor was a partner to Tom Herner before Tom left the business and turned his accounts over to Anthony. Tom was great to do business with as is Anthony. All went according to plan with no problems. The unit he installed from the one I had for the last 16 years is great. Big improvement on the heating and AC performance. Can't wait to get the other unit replaced.

Fantastic. Anthony and his team arrived promptly both for the initial quote and for installation day. Very professional, honest, prompt, willing to talk the details. I had five other HVAC teams come out to look at the system and give quotes, and Anthony's quote was within $200 of the lowest quote received. However, he sold me the system honestly with no funny business or salesmen like attitude. Also got a 10 year Trane warranty which I'm quite excited about (or as excited as you can be about an HVAC system warranty). Again, good professional, quality workmanship, good team, open and honest, exactly what I'm looking for when getting work done to my home.

Anthony has always done an outstanding job for us at a fair price. In our previous home, he replaced two HVAC units. The work was top rate and we had no problems with the units. On this service call, Anthony assistant inspected the unit, found it low on coolant and toped it off. He checked on the warranty status with the company and advised us to continue to monitor.

Anthony Maynor was extremely responsive and low-pressure during the estimating process. He seemed genuinely interested in getting the optimal system installed in our house, whether or not this meant lots of business for him. Anthony patiently waited for the optimal starting date to perform the job while we had other construction hold-ups. When the work was performed, Anthony and his associate put in long and highly productive work-days until the work was completely finished. They left the job site clean and the system looks great.
