A Master of All Trades

Description of Work: I recently purchased a home and needed some repairs made that were identified by the inspection. I did not know a handyman, so I went with one that my realtor identified. I was not 100% pleased with the work of that handyman, and was charged the equivalent of $250 an hour. That particular handyman recommended that we re-work some tiling in our master shower based on the way our soap dish was installed, which would involve finding and cutting matching tile, probably costing a few hundred dollars. As I did not know any other handymen, I was hesitant to follow his recommendation without a second opinion. | |Enter "A Master of All Trades"! I searched on Angie's List and really liked the reviews I read. I called and explained the issue to Tom, and Tom scheduled an appointment for a free estimate a couple of weeks out. Tom exceeded expectations by calling a few days later saying he could come earlier for the estimate, if our schedule allowed. Based on Tom's assessment, his fix was SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper and easier. He was able to complete it the same day as the estimate. Tom was very pleasant and professional to deal with, and is super passionate about what he does. I will certainly keep Tom in mind for future projects, and I have already passed his information along to my realtor. |

Description of Work: Tom did various small punch list items for us including replacing molding, painting, sheetrock repair and brick repair. They were on-time, neat and super nice. Highly recommend!

Description of Work: He built a custom storage bench for us. | |end result was really good, but in process of installation, some nails went through and scratched my wood floor, and also everything in my garage (where the bench was built), was covered with sawdust. I thought this was not professional way of doing things. | |But the bench is very useful to us, and just right. We did get the length slightly more than we should have got it, so now we cannot plugin anything on the 2 plug points we do have access to. | |

Description of Work: Latest in many jobs: built shelving in laundry/pantry and MBR closet. He's our "go-to" guy for handyman and small home improvement services.

Description of Work: Installed a microwave on the range. We have a tile backsplash that had to be adjusted because the new microwave was larger than the old one. He did not charge extra.

Description of Work: Install new hinges on the folding door,Replaced door rain guard for an nexterior door, replaced overhead floroscent lighting fixture in kitchen and check for the leak under the toilet bowl. |The provider was very prompt and did excellent work in time. The labor cost I thought was more than I was willing to pay.

Description of Work: Tom gave us a great price on creating a large opening in a wall between living room and kitchen. We decided after much thought that it might not be as pleasing to the eye to have it done as we thought -so decided to not do the project. But his price was great---on time for the estimate ---answered many email questions afterwards very quickly. He was extremely professional in all dealings!

Description of Work: Tom replaced a ceiling fan in one of our bedrooms. His response to our Angie's list request was very quick. Tom was prompt, personable and very efficient! It was great to work with him.

Description of Work: He never called back after a few email communications. I guess if he doesn't want to do the job, he just won't call back.

Description of Work: I had a small task that I could not do myself. It is usually difficult to find someone willing to do handyman small jobs taking less than an hour to accomplish. Tom responded fast and came within a couple days after we talked. He worked this small job in at the end of his work day and I felt that the charge was very reasonable. I will definitely call again should the need arise.

Description of Work: Replace fascia boards and painted the boards he replaced. Then he repaired another area of wood rot that I wanted fixed but never asked if he would be able to do it. He did it at a very reasonable price and offered great advice for the future. He was great. Very friendly, easy to get along with and great work all together. I would highly recommend him to everyone.
