countertops
+ -1 moreThe installation is about to wrap up-one day to remove the old countertops and install the new ones. The only word I can use to describe the workmanship is wonderful. Where others told us one or more of the surfaces would have to be pieced together, around a 90 degree turn, S&D was able to cut that section out of one piece of granite-no seams anywhere. The new tops look great. The owner and his assistant made sure everything was level, everything fit, any minimal mess was cleaned up, etc. Nothing but positives to say. If it were the Olympics-straight 10's across the board.
Description of Work: Our goal was to replace the old formica kitchen counter tops with granite counter tops. We got several estimates and the more estimates we got the more confused we became. Each person had a different story of what could and could not be done. Friends told us about S&D Granite and Marble in Aberdeen NC and we went there for a fourth (and final) opinion. I cannot say enough nice things about S&D. The people there are very service oriented and obviously know their business. The owner came out several times to measure, answer any questions we had, work with our carpenter when a brace needed to be built to support a new sink, etc. We had 100% confidence and trust in what they told us. We also had the chance to make a final selection on the color by visiting the granite warehouse in Raleigh and seeing the slabs we were going to buy. I highly recommend doing that-selecting several thousands of dollars of granite based on one small sample in a showroom can easily lead to disappointment. Plus their price was one of the best of the four estimates we got.
