A section of my fence needed to be removed and several sections of sidewalk. A trench was dug below freeze line, new waterline was installed and tied into city line and new value for city shutoff was added. Everything was replaced and better than when the job started. The city was also happy with the work.
Description of Work: New water line, turn off valve to tap head.

This was a huge job, and Erhart Construction handled it well from beginning to end. Jerry did the initial inspection that confirmed the damage we suspected and contacted the SIP company to file our claim. He met their engineer at our house, took core samples for them, and did all follow-up with the company --no small amount of work! And this was all done before we signed a contract that guaranteed him the job. We received a partial settlement from the SIP company since the damage was their fault. However, since their warranty only stated that they were liable for the actual product they replaced (not for any damage that resulted because of their negligence), our portion was substantial. Jerry did a great job of walking us through the process of what needed to be done and helping to eliminate unnecessary items so that we could stay within our budget. He fielded an enormous number of questions and "what if's" and reworked his entire plan for doing the project at least three times before we came up with something that we all felt was suitable. By the time work began on this project, our family had re-located (due to job situation), and my mother was left living in the home. I felt completely comfortable leaving Erhart Construction in charge of the job, even though we were moving across the country. Jerry was great about returning e-mails and calls in a timely manner and kept us in the loop on how things were progressing. He notified us about unexpected issues that arose (like the moldy bathroom sub-floor) and gave us different options on how to resolve those issues. He allowed my mom to pick up materials for things she was particularly interested in (like bathroom tile, light fixtures, etc.), which enabled us to save some cost on materials (she got a full pallet of tile for less than $100!) He upgraded the shingles on our roof to a higher quality and increased the R-factor in our roof by putting more toward materials than toward labor. He also re-used materials that were still in good condition whenever possible -- another factor that kept our costs within budget. Since we still live across the country and are currently re-locating out of the country, I haven't seen the finished worked in person. Jerry sent photos with the final statements that document all of the work completed, and they look great! My brother, who visited there recently, was awed by how good it all looks and the attention to detail. And my mother, who's lived through the whole process, is extremely pleased with the end result. Overall, we couldn't be happier and will recommend Erhart Construction to everyone who asks.
Description of Work: Jerry removed existing SIP panels that were collapsing and replaced them with a traditional roof. He replaced sheetrock in the upstairs, along with all the finishing touches -- like new paint and ceiling fans. He also removed a cracked bathtub, the moldy subfloor that resulted from the cracked tub, and tiled the bathroom floor and shower area. We also asked him to add a closet in a bedroom usptairs and lighting in a downstairs room that was accessible during the project. In addition, he added finishing touches out of the goodness of his heart -- like covering the attic crawl spaces with doors, re-doing the molding around the doors and finishing off the windows that were never completed during original construction.

Construction was started and finished on time and it was done to my design with good responsiveness to changes that were made on the fly. Cost did change as I needed additional items but this was expected if not defined specifically.

His bid was for the shelter was for 16 hrs work - he completed the work in 8 hours without reducing his price; in fact he demanded 15% over the bid price and would not explain why he was charging more. We paid $100/hour for this job. Altho the beam required less material and less time than estimated Jerry demanded 30% over the bid price and would not explain why he was charging more. Stay away from this guy unless you have deep pockets
Description of Work: Jerry was contracted to paint the exterior of an animal shelter. We provided all materials. Jerry was also contracted to replace a beam under an existing porch.

Painting was a set bid not hourly price job. Painted one day homeowner did not have enough paint had to return and finish job. Fixed other issues and cleaned shed with soap wash becouse of animal oil. Homeowner changed mind on how much beam she wanted replaced the day of work to be completed. Logs were already purchased and were not returnable as they were custom made. Had to pour extra concrete peir becouse of changes.
