We saw an ad in the paper for him saying he was licensed, had insurance and had experience pouring concrete. We called him, he came out the same day and we got a bid. I called him later to confirm he had a license and insurance. He said the job was too small to provide that paperwork. He said he'd be out a few days later to set the forms for the concrete. He dropped off a couple of guys to set the forms. I asked if they'd arrived with the paperwork I'd requested. They did not have it. The owner said he'd come back the next day to pour. He called and said there had been a death in the family. The next day he has food poisoning and can't come back. We called him. He said he was still sick... then he stopped answering the phone. He took the $1300. downpayment and has now disappeared. We sent a letter. It returned undeliverable. We called the sheriff. They can't find him. We believe he skipped town. Call me a bloodhound... cuz we're looking for him. After the fact we find that he's not insured and not suppose to be hiring employees to work for him.
Description of Work: He was hired to pour a concrete patio in the back yard.
