Great. They were very careful and respected our property. They were prepared because I forgot to tell them about the lamps that they needed to pack as well as a few more things. They worked very hard.

We had used Montana Transfer for a previous move with good results so we felt comfortable using them again. Bad decision! The packing/loading team which showed up this time was not the "A" team, but the "F" team. We were told a moving van would arrive and be loaded with our household goods, then leave for our new destination. Instead, a smaller truck showed up with no advance notice of the change and moved our goods into storage for two weeks while a long haul van could be scheduled. That doubled the chance of loss or damage. When the van did show up at our new home a critical "parts" box was missing which contained important small parts for pieces of furniture. It was finally discovered two weeks later, over 500 miles from our home, in an unmarked box by the independant driver who, thankfully, arranged delivery to us. The frosting on the cake….the Montana Transfer estimator underestimated the cost of the move by over 30%. We will not use this company again!!

They arrived on time. One of the drawers on a cabinet was broken and they said it was because of the way things were stacked by previous movers. They took no responsibility for the broken item which they should have prevented from falling. We put felt on each item as it came in the door and they were good about accommodating this, but when we asked that one item that was put downstairs be brought upstairs at the end of the move, they just put it in the room with no felt on it knowing we wanted all the furniture to have felt pads.

Everyone involved was very professional, on time, and very helpful. I haven't finished emptying all the boxes yet, but so far only one item was damaged and I will turn in a claim for it. I would certainly use them again and recommend them to others.

I was really not at all satisfied. Some of that had to do with the fact that we were living in a small town at the time and they had no representatives that could come to our small town to help us estimate the base required and therefore the cost of the move. Frankly, I told them that I had used a certain sized truck in the past to move things, and they didn't believe me. When they came to move our stuff, they said, and quot;Oh my gosh, we underestimated.and quot; I had tried to tell them and they didn't listen. So, we had to rent another 16 foot truck. We were told in an estimate that it would be a little over $5,000 and it turned out to be a little more than $7,000. The people that came to do the moving did not have English as a first language, and communication was very difficult. It took them twice as long to move things as they had said. When my furniture had arrived, there were several nicks and scratches or dents that had not been there before. This is not the first time we've moved; I've had experience and therefore I think there are realistic expectations of what movers should do. These were things that are not huge cosmetic damages, but scratches across the coffee table and dents in furniture that I was able to somewhat repair and hide the damage. But, I was very disappointed because this kind of damage had not appeared the last time I moved. They actually told me they'd show up on Sunday and start moving on Monday. They called me on Friday in the middle of an ice storm and said, and quot; We're going to be there tomorrow.and quot; So, they were more than punctual as far as getting to us, but, though they worked almost around the clock, it took them twice as long to move. They were very slow. There were three of them but I think only one and a half were working. They weren't mean, they weren't nasty; they were very pleasant. We sat down at the table with them - we went out and bought them carryout food so they couldn't go anywhere. We were trying really hard to make it as easy for them to do their job as possible, bending over backwards. They kept saying we could leave, when we got back it would all be done. We kept feeding them to get them to move quicker. We offered them places to sleep because they couldn't leave - the only transportation they had was the van they were filling up. What a nightmare. We had to help them unload the truck. My husband and I actually unloaded one of the trucks ourselves. These are gentleman that were immigrants, and they were very pleasant.

They were supposed to pickup my stuff. I was there waiting on the 1st of March and then they called me and told me it will probably be on the 9th of March. Then 9th came and went and I didn't hear from them. I called them and they told me, it's going to be on the 15th or 16th and we will let you know. I got a call on the 16th and they told me, it's probably going to be at the end of the month. All this time I had no job because I had quit think I was going to be gone. It was a bad situation. I had to reimburse for the ranch and it was a bad experience. It is located in Montana. I later found out that what they charged me, they had a less than a fourth of the truck filled with my stuff. Actually, it's a little container right behind the driver that's all my stuff and they charged me for a normal household stuff. I was not through. They were out of Missoula. I was actually from West Yellowstone, Montana. They couldn't get drivers to come down to us out here and nobody wanted us to drive down here. The owner drove down himself to come pick my stuff and took it back to Missoula, where our driver would pick it up. At least, it's not the owners fault and it basically is the companies fault for letting the drivers dictate what they are going to do and what they are not going to do. If the owner knew how much stuff I had, he should have called me and told me that we overestimated. It was at the end of March that we moved. I do not remember how much I spent, it was the same as you would spend for a normal household furniture. Until they change policies where the driver do not dictate and they are not filled with money hungry, do not go with them. I definitely will not recommend them. It may be a localized thing but I would be afraid of anybody, I have got one place and they are somewhere out there all over. His name is Mark Peterson who is the owner, he came down to pick my stuff up. He went overboard and he didn't have to do that. I want to give him credit for that. He was really disgusted with them too and he had to act. I would not use them again.
Description of Work: I used North American Van Lines for moving and the last time they came out was in March 2011.
