VAN DORT HEATING INC

We hired van Dort heating and cooling to install Geo thermal heat system in October of 2012. They did not start the project until Dec ember of 2012. We were told in early January that the system was up and running. We we arrived on Jan.19th , 2013 only to find out that not only was the system not running, the equipment was not completely installed . The duck work needed to be changed out to provide better air flow . My husband has been in the heating and cooling business for 35 years.(we own and operate our own guineas in Iowa). Van Dort did come in at that time and did change out the duct work. When we left on January 23, 2012 the system was not running. By January 31st my contractor sent me pictues of both thermastats , upstairs reading 67degrees and the basement reading 65 degrees. So it appeared thtat all was working. I arrived at the home aon April 19th 2013 the system was working . I noticed a change in temperature in the basement on April 24th 2012. My husband arrived on April 28th 2013. He went down stairs and accessed the problem with the Geo thermal. We went to Van Dort heating and cooling on Wdnesday May 1st 2013 to talk to Jeremy Waters( the man we hired to install the Geo system). He was not there, we spoke to Rich. He in turn called Jeremy Waters. My husband was given the phone to talk to Jeremy. Jeremy said in would send someone out on Friday May 3rd 2013 to purge the system and fix the problem. Friday May 3rd 2013, a man did come to our home, but did not purge the system . He simply took some reading and talked with my husband about what He thought the problem was. This man said he would tell Jeremy Waters what was discussed and get back to us. Van Dort heating called me on Monday May 6 th 2013 to tell me ,I was on the schedule for that week. No one showed up. I went to Van Dort heating and cooling May 14th 2013, and spoke to Jeremy directly. He initially told me he would not come out to fix any thing. I told him he should be ashamed of him self. After all we had paid him the $33,000.00 for the Geo thermal would sure like it to work. He said we still owe him $800.00 , therefore he was not going to do anything more to our system. After several words with Jeremy , I called my husband at which time he spoke to Jeremy, . At the end of their conversation , Jeremy said he would come to our home and fix the Geo thermal system. Well, it has been one month and oneI week and still no Jeremy Waters and no Van Dort heating and cooling . My Geo thermal is still not working. No phone calls ,no emails, no communication what so ever from Jeremy Waters or Van Dort heating and cooling. So having said all this , beware of Van Dort heating and cooling. They will take your money but not finish the job they were hired to do. $33,000.00 and a non- functioning Geothermal system. What integrity he has shown..

It was an older gentleman who came out on short notice; and he was not bothered with the children running around, I did not know I had a filter and it needed cleaning, and he did it for me right away.
