 + 0 moreI was having trouble with field mice. I used NitroGreen because of its rating on Angie's List. MISTAKE! The man set 3 traps in the house and one outside which he was supposed to come by and "maintain". Never saw them again. Caught 2 mice. Got a bill for $100.
Description of Work: Set 3 mouse traps in the walk-in basement and one large trap outside....and that is it...for $100...

 + 1 moreEvery service provider that has been to my house has been very thorough and it seems like they are getting the job done. I love the way my lawn looks after the mowing service and will continue to use them regularly as long as I am able.
Description of Work: I had a lot of problems with my grass. I had it aerated and sprayed with insecticide. My lawnmower broke, so I also hired them to mow my lawn. They also sprayed around my house for spiders.

Description of Work: Called NitroGreen on the recommendation of a highly respected tree nursery/botanical garden regarding having a 100 year old apple tree looked at and possibly trimmed along with other tree questions including planting new trees. Unlike two other "tree services", Sarah from NitroGreen explained that this was the worst time to "trim" trees and that the apple tree didn't need the work recommended by others, but needed deep root fertilizer and then maybe some trimming in the winter when the tree was not at risk for increased stress. The other tree didn't need anything except spraying for aphids now, and optional clean out trimming that would be best done in the winter. She also advised on planting locations for new trees we bought, and gave prices for her company to do that work. Left me with a detailed list of what could be done and explained they would do only what we requested. Costs were MUCH less than the other "Tree Services", and as a Certified Arborist were based on training and science rather than a need to just keep their crews working. I will have them do fertilization and spraying now ($165), and pruning/trimming ($525) in the winter when it's more appropriate. Other companies prices for similar work were up to $2400. I appreciated Sarah's professional viewpoint and the honest advice she offered.

 + -1 moreSarah, their arborist, came for an initial consultation prior to pruning. She is extremely knowledgeable and has excellent recommendations. I have had her come look at various issues for me. She is always helpful. Dave and his crew came and trimmed several large trees on my property. They did a fantastic job. They were punctual, quick, and left everything looking great. I was not available to answer questions, and they weren't certain about whether they were supposed to cut a branch off cut off a larger part of the tree. They erred conservatively, and when I called back to ask them to cut the larger part of the tree off, they were back the very next morning and done in about 5 minutes. Friendly, efficient, and I would definitely recommend them.

 + 0 moreMy experience differed from most other people in the area. It took me at least four phone calls to get service to the house. I would call and be told that someone would call me in the next week and tell me when I needed to leave work to show them around the property. Then nobody would call. Rinse and repeat several times. When we finally did get someone out there, they sprayed in areas that I had asked not to be sprayed, and missed the very most important area that I specifically pointed out several times. Needless to say, I started doing my own yard care after that experience.

Nitro Green's arborist was especially helpful in offering not only an acceptable fee estimate, but also, suggestions on how to enhance landscaping of our property.

They are great about calling at least a day before they plan to do any kind of work. They scheduled a pickup day, and return day, for our lawnmower maintenance.  + -1 moreI am satisfied with their work. They do have personalized service. If you call in and have questions they always get right back to you. I have used them for years as well. They are punctual and the yard looks good. The trees haven't died and that's most important.
