Showed up on time, trimmed a branch that had fallen on out garage after a storm. They worked fast, cleaned up the yard of branches, and even trimmed a few extras that needed it. The and quot;crewand quot; was a bit sketchy looking, but worked well. Would recommend to friends in the future, great price!

I called to get an estimate for tree removal. The individual who answered did not identify the buisness when he answered. I asked if I could get an estimate and he fumbled around for something to write on and with. Then he handed me off to another person without really telling me what was happening. She took my info (address and phone number) and I never heard back (it's been serveral weeks now). They have an ad in the "Services" portion of the classifieds, which is why I called. I thought they wanted business. Poor customer service and lack of professionalism.

I picked Bushy’s Tip Top Tree Service, because it seemed to be a respected tree removal business in Helena, Montana and was prominently listed in yellowpages.com. My experience was generally positive, but was tarnished a bit because it took a while to arrange a time to meet to obtain an estimate. I do understand that this is probably their busy season, and that they are run essentially by a few guys, and to keep costs low, they don’t have a secretary (at least I never encountered one). On Monday I called for an estimate of the cost of bringing down a tree in our yard, and by Tuesday by noon they called back, and said that they were going to stop by “as soon as possible”, so I hung around the house all day waiting for him. He didn’t come. I was upset, because there are things I could have done in town. He didn’t even call. I even turned away another tree guy that I had already called, because supposedly this Bushy tree guy was coming around “as soon as he could.” Well, by Wednesday morning he called and stopped out and gave me an estimate. I was pleasantly surprised at the cost, as the tree had several lines running from poles (phone and cable) running through it, and the tree was situated against out house (which was why we were having it taken down, as we were afraid it would eventually damage our foundation). He made an appointment to begin work on the tree by Thursday (the next day), which was OK by me. I got a call a short time after he gave me the estimate and he asked if they could begin work today (Wednesday), as they had an opening, and I said “OK!” When they arrived, they had a bucket truck and several other trucks, and about five guys made short work of the limbs of the tree! I was impressed. All that was left by this point was the trunk of the tree. I heard one guy cut a limb and it fell on the chain link fence that was nearby, and after they had left, I discovered that a large limb had indeed fallen on the fence and severely bent the top pipe and pulled the fence away from the bottom post - things that could be easily fixed. I was pleasantly surprised when I inspected the work on Thursday night, after they were completed, and they had replaced the top pipe and reconnected the fence on that bottom post! I appreciated that! On Thursday, a couple of younger guys came out and took down the trunk and ground the stump to ground level. As I was not home when they completed the work, I had no way to get them their check for payment, and the guy who came by for the estimate didn’t mention how that would happen if I didn’t happen to be home. I received a call on Friday, and a guy stopped by the house and got the check. Be warned that the guys are rough looking and talking, but they seem to know their job. I don’t know if there are tree services in Helena that are more polished or not, because so far this is the only one I had experience with. Perhaps next time I will have several come out for estimates and to get a feel for the way they handle their business. Positives: 1) Worked quickly, 2) fixed the fence that they damaged during the job, 3) good price. Negatives: 1) Took several days to get the estimate done, 2) are rough in speech and dress, 3) and were not clear on how payment was to be made since I was not going to be home when they were done.

Arrived within 20 minutes of my call to evaluate the situation, returned that afternoon and limbed the trees half way up, then dropped them perfectly side by side.
