A neighbor had a new roof put on their home and it looked great. They told me it was Rene’s team at Flawless Roofing. I called Rene and asked for a bid and was pleasantly surprised at the affordability, even with premium asphalt shingles and 4 sky light replacements. They worked very hard and finished the job in one day, working a few extra hours while the daylight held. They do a complete job with craftmanship at every step. I can recommend Flawless roofing wholeheartedly.
Description of Work: Complete removal of old roof, installation of new roofing and trim , including glass and trim in 4 skylights. They even replaced the vent covers.

Flawless Roofing put the New Roof on our house, We found them to be very professional. They came out and did a free bid for us. We decided to hire them for the project. They tore off the old roof and put the new one on. The clean up job was awesome. They came to do it on the date agreed upon and finished in a timely manner. We would and have recommended them to several people.
Description of Work: Tore off our old Roof and installed a New one,

This company was recommended to us by the builder of our home after we had shingles blow off. The repair was done in June 2015 and when we had more wind damage in August 2015 we called them again and they informed us our roof needed replacement. They also informed us they would help get us the necessary information to our insurance company(photos, measurements, etc.). At no time did they inform us that they would be charging us $250 per visit because we lived an hour away. Nor did they inform us there would be $250 charge for office work involved with the insurance company. When I phoned our insurance company in September, they informed me they had not received the necessary information to process our claim. At this point I contacted another roofing company that was able to take the photos and measurements in one visit and get it submitted to our insurance in a timely matter. Upon informing Flawless Roofing we were going with a different company, we were instructed to leave a $1400 check taped to our front door for them to pick up for all the work they had done and threatened to place a lien on our home if we didn't pay. We had never received an invoice for any of the work they had performed. I asked for an itemized invoice which we did receive, $400 for the initial repair, $250 to tell us we needed a new roof, $250 to take photos, $250 to take more photos and measure, and $250 for office work. Communication with this company became very unprofessional and threatening after they were informed we were going with a different company.
Description of Work: Patched 3 areas of blown off shingles that required less than 1 bundle of shingles, which we provided, in June of 2015. Made 3 trips to our house to evaluate whether our roof needed replacement and take photos and measurements to determine if our home owners insurance would cover replacing our roof in August/Sept of 2015.

Response from Flawless Roofing & Remodeling LLC
First off, we have never once spoke with a [Member Name Removed], but only a [Member Name Removed]. What went on with [Member Name Removed] is the following: August 12, 2015 [Member Name Removed] called for the second time about wind damage to his roof and asked about patching further wind damage. We let him know that as he keeps patching it he would be better off going ahead and filing a homeowners claim that his roof was most likely completely damaged and he would be spending close to his deductible as he continues to keep having to patch it. We offered to help him with this claim and put all the footwork in necessary to make sure it does get approved for a reroof but that in exchange we would expect to be the contractor who does the reroof. He agreed if we got the claim for him we would do the work. We told him first we would need to come take a look at the current damage to be sure it would be enough to file a claim. We did do that, contacted him and all moved forward with USAA and the claims process. August 26, 2015, 9:15 AM [Member Name Removed] contacted us and let us know his claim number and that they requested photos and an estimate of all the damage, which was typical of an insurance company. We went to his home that day as well as sent all requested documents to USAA that same day, 10 photos and the estimate. We also let them know we took several more (over 30) if they needed any more. August 27th we received what looked like an auto generated email asking for an estimate as well as complete breakdown of all pricing per linear measurement. This is not typical of an insurance company and assumed this was the wrong auto sent email that this was to go to the in field adjuster. We have worked with several insurances, Austin Mutual, Horseman Insurance, Farmers, American Security, and many more and never had to do all the work of the field adjuster. We sent back an email to USAA within THREE hours of this email asking if there was an adjuster involved yet if they had done their inspections and measurements. We did not hear back from USAA so September 2nd we sent a follow up email stating, “Hello, We are checking in to see if we needed to contact the adjuster or if there is any progress on the claim for [Member Name Removed].” September 15th USAA Finally emailed back and asked again for the itemized information, we called to get the information directly from them on how they wanted it all prepared. Although we thought it was odd they expected us to do the work of a field adjuster, we agreed we took on the job and would just buy the software needed to get them what they wanted. The exact scopes of all 3 buildings as well as a break down with all liner measurements and depreciated values. So purchased an eagle view and claims management software to get this information for them. It took us a few days to get back to Helm’s house to review all measurements and get familiar software but October 1st we had all information submitted to USAA. October 26th we were finally contacted by USAA, via phone, with the confirmation that they approved the project but had questions on the pricing. We went line by line through all of the numbers to make sure they did not miss anything and that Helms got the entire project, house and two outbuildings approved. They notified us we are the contractor on the account and that they would be issuing a check for $13,257.38 that day and we would need to coordinate with Helms to get the project started. We tried for several days to contact [Member Name Removed] via phone and had all calls ignored at this point. Finally November 6th, 2015 we texted him and this is when he told us “Thank you but we have gone a different direction with the roof" and that he notified the Insurance company another company would now be handling the claim. When asked why what had happened he said he was under the impression we weren’t cooperating with the insurance. We told him that was fine but that we expected him to reimburse us for all the expenses we were out to get this claim process that we had a verbal agreement if we put in the time, gas, and even paid out of our pocket to get everything approved we would get the job. We asked him 3 times if we could meet in person and discuss the $1400 bill we expected him to pay for all the trips to his home and the software we were required to purchase because USAA refused to hire a field adjuster. He refused and said he didn’t want to meet in person and that he didn’t want to pay until he saw an itemized invoice, which understandable about the invoice odd that he refused to meet us. We send an invoice the following day November 7th 2015, and never heard back. December 21st 2015, we contacted [Member Name Removed] and notified him that we hadn’t heard from him not seen any payment that we would be sending another in case it was misplaced; we could also email one if that was helpful. He snapped back that he didn’t receive anything and wouldn’t ignore it. We discussed the issues before he had, that he was told we failed to provide USAA documents so they chose another contractor. At this point I called USAA to see if there was another contractor involved, what had any other company submitted, and if they in fact told [Member Name Removed] this. They said nothing on the account showed anything from any other company except us, and there was no record of that conversation Helms allegedly had with USAA. Nor did [Member Name Removed] notify us throughout the process that he was unhappy about the pace. Had he we would have been glad to let him know all the time lapse was from the insurance company not us. We had in fact called several times and left a voicemail during the time lapse explaining we were still working with the insurance and would let him know when they make a decision. Shortly after Helms received our invoice he wanted to argue all the charges. We have gone back and fourth via text but haven’t gotten anywhere. He refused to pay and said he made calls to other companies about pricing that he thought was unfair but we let him know we too could get prices charged and paid for patches and we are competitive with all. January 4th [Member Name Removed] said he was mailing partial payment and would mail the balance when he received an updated invoice. We received half, $700, sent out an invoice and never heard back. March 7th we got a call from a prospective client asking for an explanation about a terrible Angie’s list review we had no idea existed. We had not been notified of such a claim, nor was there any “validation made” or attempt to contact us from Angie’s list. They claim to have sent an email, which we never received. At this point we will be moving forward with collecting the unpaid balance from [Member Name Removed] as well as perusing slander charges as we never once charged $250 for just additional pictures, there is no record of USAA saying we failed to provide any information as of March 8th 2016 we have contacted USAA and there was still is no record of any information provided by any company other than our own which would indicate a breech in our verbal agreement set August 12, 2015. Having included all additional trips, time, and software into the pricing approved by the insurance company for the project, there is really no excuse why he would not be paying us out of what the insurance has already released to him. With the time we spent refining the pricing and going through each and every expense with USAA there is more than sufficient funds accounted for in the claim to pay the $1400 we billed Helms and still to cover the complete reroof. Even yet, he has only paid $700 of his bill. We have several reviews and references elsewhere that would be much more of an accurate representation of our company. Never did we ever think going back and fourth for more than two months with an insurance company to represent a client and ensure they are properly taken care of would result in such bad mouthing and hostility.
