We had a list of renovations & repairs, the main ones being: enlarge bathroom with walk in shower & ability to wash down entire room and push water/cleaning solution into shower drain - re-configure bedroom & add walk-in closet - brace-up SouthEast corner of house in basement (floor was bouncing) Issues: Bathroom - floor still slopes so that water from the shower drains into the rest of the bathroom. Had to jerry-rig a metal dam to keep water in shower area. When they laid down the self-leveling concrete floor I pointed out it would leak into the basement & was told it wouldn't ... it did. Bedroom - my husband made the mistake of requesting smooth walls & ceiling and we were not told it would cost extra until AFTER the work was done. The walls & ceiling have hundreds of pock-marks & lumps. Brace-up SE corner of house - floor STILL bounces. EVERY reconfigured wall that they did is crooked on the vertical & horizontal axis. They left a god-awful mess when they caulked the bathroom AND they used a tan caulk on white walls. We did ALL the demolition and clean-up and we still spent almost $22,000.00 on this job (makes me wonder about the pricing; we were probably over-charged for the amount of work done, but have no actual way of comparison). I have called the owner SEVERAL times to have him correct the issues and have gotten the run-around. I am disgusted & still quite angry when I think about this. My husband & I are now doing the best we can to correct what we can, but we will have to spend money we can't afford to hire others to do the work we can't. We should not have trusted him, we should have checked his references, we should NOT have given him final payment until we had lived with the changes for at least a week so we could examine the work that he did more closely. The owner is quite charming and will probably give all sorts of excuses ... don't trust him. I'm not the only client that has been disappointed with the work L & N Construction has done.
