I wanted the rooms both entry and mud-room to look finished by the end of the project. I was not living in this house during the remodel, but I met him there during a consult and we drafted up the estimate together. He originally said the work would take a couple of weeks, well a month and a half later I get an email saying its all done. I made arrangements to travel down and check out the completion. The dry wall was hung but he neglected to tell me he covered one light fixture and the attic access. On top of this the trim was only partially completed. Around the stairs there were whole pieces missing and gaps were showing where the corner of the wall and the wood floors meet. He also tiled around the water heater leaving gaps instead of lifting the water heater like he had promised. Wires behind the washer were still exposed, this was supposed to be boxed off. I called him immediately and expressed my disappointment with his so called completed job. He met me at the house a few days later and tried to charge me more for creating an attic access when he is the one that covered up the original. I stuck to my guns and pointed out all the area's that he did not live up to the original agreement. He made it seem like I was inconveniencing him holding him to the agreement but left that day saying he would fix everything within a week. A week passed and I had not heard from him so I started calling him to find out what was going on. I continued calling for about 2 months, he never returned my phone calls and the work was never finished.
