Our 41 year old furnace was starting to have problems so we decided to replace it. After researching info on home furnaces we decided on the Trane brand due to its excellent reputation. Also, we wanted to purchase from a locally owned company with a reliable, long-standing reputation. The sales rep was very thorough in assessing the size of furnace needed and in answering our many questions. Brian Gertiser, owner of Bridger Heating and Cooling, came to our home to answer our specific concerns. The old furnace was removed and the new furnace was installed by technicians Ryan and Noah. Both were pleasant, professional, worked steadily, did not rush the job, and answered questions we had along the process. A few days after the installation Brian Gertiser came to our home to review the installation. All in all, we are very pleased with Bridger Heating and Cooling, and very much appreciate the time the owner and the technicians took to thoroughly answer our many questions. We highly recommend this company.

Service tech "Gordy" from Bridger alleged that the "mother board" was kaput when in fact the unit was too old to have a mother board. He initially priced the repair at "around $1,000 and suggested a new unit for around $5,000 and said that the company's owner would inspect later in week and make a firm price. The owner of company never showed but negotiated with me over phone several rounds and offered pricing options for a new unit. Pricing of repairs was never confirmed. Meantime another company showed up and re-affixed a loose wire in the control equipment and restored the unit to working condition immediately after six days of sub-zero weather without heat. All other aspects of the unit checked out fine. Do not let Gordy in your house.

They did a very good job. With the extra ductwork and other refinements, the job took about 2.5 days. They were very intent on doing a good job and not just plunking a new furnace in and leaving it at that. They wanted to be sure that the duct system was well matched to the furnace and that all the details of the plumbing, electrical, and combustion air supply were done correctly and met code requirements. Josh and Gordon who who did the install were competent, friendly, and happy to talk about the details of what they were doing and why they were doing it that way. They did a careful job all the way down to details like sealing the duct joints carefully. Devon, who did the original estimate, knows the business well, and was helpful in selecting the new furnace model, and identifying some of the flaws in the original installation. He did a full walk through after the job was completed with a point by point audit sheet. The new furnace is performing well, and is quieter. It runs longer at lower burner and fan settings than the old furnace did, which results in a more comfortable house. I put n/a in on the price because we really did not do any shopping around.

Bridger had replaced my furnace a year and a half before. The price of the replacement was reasonable as these things go. A year and a half later, the furnace broke down and I called to have it fixed. I called Monday and the man came Thursday. He fiddled around a bit, said he didn't like the set-up, and said it would cost $700-800 to take the furnace apart and find the problem. At this point, I called another company that repaired the problem for $550, most of which was for parts. The charge for Bridger's and quot;diagnosticsand quot; was $98.

We had very good luck with them. They gave us good service.
