Bare's Stove & Spa

We purchased a gas-fueled fireplace unit from Bare's upon building our home in 2010/2011. Price was $4,189. The unit has had problems from the beginning, and we have had to schedule several repair visits. After basically rebuilding the unit in 2013, we had essentially no problem for approximately one year. Approximately one week ago the unit completely stopped working. We have been unable to get a repair visit scheduled with Bare's. The apparently have only one repair person and it is not possible to speak to him directly. Bare's personnel state they will tell him of problem and that we will hear back from him to schedule a visit, but that has not happened. Note- the repair person does excellent work. We reviewed his work from a year ago and gave him and Bare's a very favorable review. Our problem now and the purpose of this review is with the quality of the unit, and Bare's lack of responsiveness to our inquiries for repairs.

Our gas fireplace has had numerous problems since installation with the build of our house- seems to have a design flaw in the unit module; however, they were responsive in repairing, and the individual (Derek) that responded was great, and seems to have fixed the problem. So overall very satisfied with experience.

Scheduling service required us to call them back for details about when they would come. Then the service person failed to call us prior to coming to do the job anyway. We live rurally and, had we not been home, failure to let us know an approximate time could have resulted in a long drive for the service person to find no one at home. Overall, we had a good experience, but we have had more professional service scheduling arrangements with other companies and think Bare's needs to improve in this area.
