I will not hesistate to contact Yellowstone in the future for any of my electrical needs.
Description of Work: One of the wires in my meter over heated and the power company told me that because it was on the "load side" of the meter, I would need to call an electrician. I called Yellowstone and within 2 hours Paul May was at my house and had the problem resolved in 3 hours.

I would not recommend them to anybody. They came in and signed off saying the work was complete but I still had problems with the electrical work after that; my vacuum cleaner got damaged by a short circuit caused by their shoddy work. As soon as they realized they were at fault they treated me like I was a criminal and they didn’t want to have anything to do with me and kept sidetracking me. They didn’t work with me at all; they were very unresponsive, and they overcharged me.
Description of Work: I have used Yellowstone Electric for electrical wiring work in the house.

Response from Yellowstone Electric
The customer was a valued, but difficult customer to deal with for several years until nearly 5 years ago during October 2007. The customer house is an older house that was constructed with aluminum wiring that is in poor shape. Aluminum wiring was outlawed as this type of residential installation over 30 years ago, but many homes still contain this outdated wiring. The customer experienced some problems with the existing wiring and asked for us to send someone over to advise her. When our service manager visited with her, removed one of the switches and informed her of the aluminum wiring problems, she asked for a quote to replace 8 outlets, and 8 switches that were specific problems. The Yellowstone service manager that was sent over to consult with her gave her a written quote that listed a rate of $25 per switch or outlet for a total of $400 for all 16 devices. This included the work necessary to remove the device, pigtail the wiring, and install a new device. The work was performed for her at her direction, but somewhere in the course of the work, the customer assumed that the $400 would cover all of the outlets and switches in her home instead of just 8 switches and 8 outlets. Upon receiving the bill, the customer was upset that we did not do more for her and refused to pay the bill. In the end, the customer paid $150 against the $400 bill. Yellowstone Electric forgave the remaining $250 owed, but has elected to not perform any further work for the customer in the future. The total amount of time spent by the service manager and subsequently the electrician at the customers house was approximately 3 hours. It is unfortunate that there were communication problems between the customer and our company. That is why we give firm, written quotes that clearly state what we will be doing, and how much we will charge. In this case, it is obvious that there was still a communication issue. Yellowstone Electric Co. is very proud of our integrity and our ethics. In this case, further conversations with the customer prior to doing the work could have helped relieve her confusion over what was to be performed and how much it was going to cost. Yellowstone Electric Co. allowed her to pay only what she thought was fair, and we did not pursue getting any further payment from her in order to resolve problem back in 2007. Since this incident occurred 5 years ago, Carol has not made any other complaints or comments to Yellowstone Electric Co, and this is the first time we have heard that she still is upset with our company.
