Recommended to me by a neighbor who uses ProSeal for their businesses. This was the only contractor that was honest, punctual and considerate of our time. Stuck to their bid and did far more work than I was charged for. They were actually more affordable than our other two bids and fixed a botched repair, done by another company, at no cost to me. They explained everything thoroughly, including their warranty, to me and again to my spouse. Came back and checked on the work several weeks later, which I appreciate. I feel ProSeal went above and beyond in helping me out, but according to my neighbor, that is how they always operate.I was very pleased with the price, quality and service I received.
Description of Work: Repaired leaking cracks in my foundation walls and floors. Repaired the areas of my foundation that was falling apart.

I thought ProSeal did a great job- they were professional, I feel like they knew what they were talking about, and ultimately they had a better answer to fixing our issue than having a big concrete replacement project that would have cost a few thousand dollars. I used to be in the home-improvement industry, so I checked their insurance and credentials, they had them. (at the time of this posting, their profile on Angie's List says they're not insured or bonded, which caught my attention since they are).

We recently had ProSeal Applications, owner Dan Kindsfather, fix and seal two small holes in our basement floor. We left the hose running near the house and found that water had leaked on the floor of our basement. We called ProSeal Applications. The owner, Dan Kindsfather, gave us an estimate for injecting gel coate epoxy method, $675.00, and sealing using polyurea over, $350.00. We were told the process would be applied over a three day period, for drilling holes, filling and covering with polyurea. We agreed and scheduled an appointment. When Dan Kindsfather showed up as planned he had an older gentleman with him that seemed like he was more qualified and knowledgable than Dan, as he inspected the holes and told me and Dan that all that was needed to be done wa patching over the holes. He also told me that he would patch under the window. I let him know that spot did not leak, but he said it would do it for a preventative measure. I let my boyfriend know what was happening and asked if he would go downstairs and make sure he was okay with what they were doing. He works nights so I was handling the matter for him. I needed him to see what was going on with the new plan on patching the holes. They were almost done by then. My boyfriend let me know that all they were doing was patching the holes, not drilling. The patch job took the two men one hour to complete. Dan said he would return 6 hours later to inspect the patch. When he returned he looked at it and said it would take one week to completely harden. Then he gave me the bill of $825.00. I was prepared for $350.00 as what was quoted in his estimate for sealing with Polyurea. He charged and additional $475.00 for gelcoate epoxy method he did not do. It did not take him the three days, it took one hour. I let him know that I was confused regarding this. He said the chemicals were very expensive. I have later found out that they are less than $100.00. So, he charged me $700.00 for 1 hour of work for two laborers. He himself looked as if he was just learning his trade as the older gentleman was instructing him to what to do and how to do it. I would never recommend Dan Kindsfather orf ProSeal Applications to anyone. What a rip off !!!!

Response from Proseal Applications
This has been a good learning experience for us and in hindsight we will never take another job where we feel the customer does not understand or fully comprehend the work being done and the costs associated with it. We were concerned initially that the member was not comprehending the situation or resolution but after explaining to her boyfriend and his agreement to the contract we scheduled the job. We called the member to confirm the appointment the day prior, she did not recall the visit for the estimate nor scheduling of the work to be completed, instead saying I just need someone to come out and look at our leak. Had to refresh her memory and again explain, should have been another red flag. Our company’s previous owner and advisor came to inspect and help complete the work. He advised epoxy injection was not needed to seal the leak and concurred that moisture was entering the home from more than just the floor/wall interface. This was again explained to the customer and mutually agreed upon. Unfortunately it appears now that the customer again did not comprehend this and how the water entered the home from u8nder the non-egress window and followed the wall crack; she just believed the leak occurred where it collected at lowest point inside the basement. Simply put, an unprofessional repair was already unsuccessfully attempted at this home; t had to be removed by us in order to be corrected and “patching” the floor as the customer now seemed to want, would not fix this leak. ProSeal will not risk their reputation or cut corners to do unneeded or ineffective repairs. Again we should have used our better judgment and walked from this job but we strive to waterproof customers homes and prevent costly water damage and wanted to help this customer as well. Facts are that the customer agreed to a $1025.00 repair. They were charged $825.00 which included two certified installers, resurfacing the foundation wall, removing the previous repair attempt, expansion and fill of the floor crack, fill and sealing of the floor/wall interface with polyuria and gel coat epoxy seal the decomposed foundation areas and wall crack, inside and out. The completed repair was presented and inspected by the customer. Explanation was given of the work done which included the polyuria on the floor and epoxy gel coat on the wall. The member did not mention she didn’t understand or have concerns and questions regarding the epoxy surface “repair” method versus “injection” method as we would have been happy to again try and explain the differences and show her that indeed it was done and that the injection method is a three day “process” not three full days of labor. The surface repair obviously can be completed in one day. Since it appears the customer is uneducated and does not understand regarding the costs incurred for chemicals used, materials and items needed in order to effectively and safely apply these chemicals, she also argues against the fact that the gel coat epoxy seal was completed on her home even though she mentions the “holes” were “patched” and feels she was overcharged somehow for labor. We strive for 100% customer satisfaction and have met that goal for the past 5 years. We are troubled that this customer felt unsatisfied, never contacted us for resolution and chose an anonymous forum to voice her opinion. We have provided Angie’s List a detailed price breakdown and a more than fair resolution as a symbol of goodwill.
