He has poor communication. I talked to him at a home show. They never got back to me. I called them but they never got back to me. I was really not impressed with their company. I still wasn't impressed when he finally came and installed the sprinkler pump. He didn't install it right. He had to come back and redo it.
Description of Work: I have used the services of John Sprinklers. They were going to give me an estimate and finally he came and installed a sprinker pump for me.

As you know, the home show is a huge event and it takes us 2 to 3 months to reach out and contact all of the people who requested services during that show. I wish I could've gotten to the calls sooner, but we had thousands of them to make. The home show is in March and we performed your work in May, after the sprinklers are able to be turned on. You said you called us but we never got back to you, but yet we did the work for you? [Member Name Removed], I'm sorry we couldn't get to you sooner, but we did get in contact with you and we gave you a set price to install the pump, which you agreed with. The pump had a warranty, as well as all of our workmanship and if there was something wrong, we would have fixed it for free. The cost was $800, not $1000.

The work was finally done properly. But I paid too much since it should have been done correctly the first time.
Description of Work: I had just moved into my house and needed for them to check the sprinkler system since it wasn't working completely. It took the guy two trips out to fix the problems. But since then, they have improved and done a good job.

The only work JHYS did close to $400 for this customer was a set bid to work on the sprinkler system. She requested that we bury sprinkler pipes that were above ground. She called for a bid price and it was given. She called about a week later and told us that we were much cheaper priced than the other bids she was given. The bid was $350.00. She was charged $350.00. The number of trips it took the company to get parts and supplies only cost the company, not the customer. Whether it took a half day or a full day, the set quoted bid was $350.00. [Member Name Removed], would you please update this review. We have done weekly mowing, yearly fertilizing, and all your sprinkler work since 2012. I know you love my sprinkler guys as you have told me innumerous times over the phone.

The fountain and one of the drip systems did not work when they were finished. The workmen seemed very confused, and inexperienced. They wasted time getting materials, and had to come back many times for something that should have only taken an afternoon, in my opinion.

The customer did not request a bid of any sort and was told our hourly rate of $60 per hour for sprinkler repair. Of the $1407, $657 of it was parts. The company had sprinkler technicians at her property for a total of 16 man hours, but reduced that down to 12.5 after she voiced her concerns about having to make mulitple trips for parts. The reason multiple trips were needed to get parts is that the sprinkler technicians would fix one problem only to come across another one that was not evident without fixing the previous problems. The fountain and sprinkler system are very old and did not run off of timers. Extensive work was needed to get this system upgraded and running properly. JHYS installed a new fountain pump, two valves to the sprinkler system and two control boxes for the sprinklers; all of this was wired in. Two control boxes were needed to reduce the time and money it would take to get the sprinkler system on one control box due to the location of the valves. The technicians replaced the pump on the fountain and this customer was there to see everything running properly. However, she called a few days later upset that the fountain was not working. We tried to set up a time to look at it and she refused to allow us to see what the problem was to fix it. Due to the amount of leaves and debris that had accumulated in the entire fountain area, it is very likely that the pump was only clogged. But, as was mentioned previously, the company was not allowed back on the premises to look or fix the issue. Due to her concerns about multiple trips, the company discounted the price by 3.5 hours. The place where parts are bought is about a 20 min drive from her house. By discounting it 3.5 hours, that allowed for multiple trips to be made and an attempt to satisfy this customer. This customer has since sent a payment in the amount of $750 with a letter stating that she will not pay a dime more. She barely paid for the supplies installed at her property. This situation is now in the court system, which I'm certain is why she has taken the time to write a negative review.
