Great product, but customer service needs major overhaul. Took way too long - contacted and paid in April of 2013 completed in December of 2013 with a refund due to multiple ordering mistakes. Ownership changing hands - would not use again.

After getting some contractors' bids on window replacement and reading a positive review from an acquaintance, we decided to use Freedom Windows to replace three windows in our home. That being said, they will not be replacing the rest of the windows in our home, nor can I recommend this company to others. While their product is good (not exceptional--but good) , several aspects of their service leaves something to be desired. 1. Relating to female customers. In spite of having several conversations with the owner of this company, who was always perfectly personable and polite, we could never shake the impression that he (Steve) would much rather deal with my husband than me, the wife. If my husband and I were both present for a conversation with Steve, he invariably addressed his attention and comments exclusively to my husband rather than to both of us. Perhaps Steve does prefer dealing with males, but as a female who was footing 50% of the bill--that didn't sit particularly well with me. Thankfully the actual window installers, who spent the most time in our home, displayed no such preference-- so overall, the experience of having the workers in our home was okay. 2. Punctuality and responsiveness Both my husband and I are very familiar with and are pretty relaxed about scheduling issues that arise or when appointments need to be changed. This however does not mean we think un-returned calls or late arrivals to a scheduled job without notification is acceptable. On more than one occasion during the installation, late arrival at the site or late returns from and quot;lunchand quot; had us wondering when the workers would actually be arriving and/or if they only intended in working a partial day. We also had issues with calls going unreturned for days. 3. Professionalism and attention to detail We ordered three windows from this company. Two of the three windows were not what we were expecting to receive, but ended up keeping (one, with a price reduction). The issue with one large window was (we ordered what we thought would be a window with triple pane glass) and ended up receiving a double-paned window instead. The eventual explanation given to us was that triple pane windows were not made in that large of a size. When we questioned why the owner didn't alert us to this fact ahead of time (i.e. before actual delivery) he merely said, and quot;he didn't know it would only be a double-paned windowand quot; which seems to be a bit out-of-the-loop for a window installation business owner. In the case of the second window, we ordered a side-sliding window, but received a double-hung window instead. To be fair, we were given a discounted price for this window--but really, people want what they order and waiting for a new window to be ordered and arrive would have further delayed our kitchen remodel, so was not worth it to us. As far as professionalism, on several occasions--the window installer and his assistant were nitpicking, badgering and grumpy with each other in front of us; to the point it was kind of uncomfortable to be around them while they were working. In the end, the work the installers did was fine and they picked-up after themselves well enough, but nobody wants to listen to workers bickering about how to do the job while they are actually working on it--it kind of makes a customer wonder if the job will be well done, or if the workers really know what they are doing. Finally, in spite of several calls to the window installer, he never did return to complete the indoor trim finish work. He assured us that once our wall tiling was completed all we'd have to do is give him a call; he would come back and it would take 1/2 an hour to put up the trim. After waiting two months, we finally just bought the trim ourselves and my husband installed it--but really, that was part of what we paid this company to do, and they never quite finished the job we'd paid them for.

Great company! Price was great. Work was preformed on schedule. No complaints.

Freedom replaced our main front picture window and it was a very pleasant experience from estimate to completion. Steve was very responsive and fair to work with and even came immediately after for a followup visit immediately after I called with some difficulty I was having with closing the window after the weather caused some expansion/contraction issues. They were fair, thorough and quick. I plan to use this company again for our other window replacements when we get to them.
