Avoid at all costs. Unresponsive and ignoring emails and phone calls to finish the work they say they would complete. Unfortunately I went with them on a recommendation and totally regret it. Should have went with Sprague Roofing and followed my gut. Left me to find someone else to finish the job they started.

Very bad. August, 2014, Donahue Co put my new roof on my house and garage in one day. (At that time, on his website video, he advertised that his company does not do the quick, shoddy, only one-day jobs.) (The company did not come back to finish the awning, until June 2015). As for the roofs install, I could not be there at home all day for the roof install, and the next day I find quite a mess left in my garage. Black stuff was all over everything in the interior of the garage. There is no ceiling in my garage building, so previously I had put large cardboard pieces on as many of the joists in my garage that I could, (like a ceiling) and I find at least two cardboard pieces have fallen on to my car. Also, the right side of the garage is where I have been putting many, many things after cleaning them for a future garage sale. All of this should have to be cleaned again. The area around my home and garage also have bits of tar paper and shingles, black things, not to mention many dangerous nails hiding everywhere. I like to walk on my beautiful yard barefoot; now I am very afraid of ever doing that again. The items outside of and near my home and garage, also have some of this black stuff and screws on them. (See attached photos dated 2014 Aug 13) My house attic insulation has been disturbed and black stuff there too. Also the whole-house fan in my attic seems possibly damaged. (See attached photos dated Aug 14, 2014). At least one rain gutter is bent; replaced wrong.(See attached photo Aug 15, 2014 {2 days after install}, and ice damage that winter see Jan 19, 2015 photo). At the time, age 65, and with health problems (see list of some of my health diagnosis from the Billings Clinic below), I am physically not able to clean this property as it should have been done. Had I been informed about the mess that would be made in the garage, I would have covered everything. I would have considered ordering plywood sheets put on the garage roof so hopefully this cannot happen again. And I would have moved my car to a safe location. My classic prime 1980 El Camino (see photo dated 2013 Aug 30), in the garage, was covered also with black things including at least one nail; who knows the damage done to my car's paint job, etc.(See attached photos dated 2014 Aug 13). Finally, in June, 2015, Donahue Roofing subbed out the job to a guy named Fletch. While replacing my awning, this stocky man (Fletch) stood on the awning cross beams. (Other workman that needed to get on top of the awning, always put a board on top so the surface weight was spread out.) Some of the awning beams are now cracked. The install for the awning was clear corrugated plastic therefore the glue shows through and the quality of the job is unacceptable. I communicated all this to the Donahue co, asked them to come look at it, but to my knowledge, no one from Donahue ever came to my house to look at the awning. Sam, the out of state, money chaser guy for Donahue Roofing, harassed me for full payment. This was before they replaced the awning that is in the contract. I gave them partial payment and when the awning was replaced, I said would pay them the full amount. I believe it was in May of 2015, I received from Eric Nord attorney law firm, a lein on my property dated March of 2015. On page 2 of this lein, where the Donahue Office Manager Kyra Stone signed, twice the month February was scratched out and March written in. In the lein it says the job was done February 2, 2015. I know of nothing done on Feb 2, 2015, or, since Aug 12, 2014. Again, this lein was sent before the contract was completed - the awning was not replaced until June of 2015. I didn't know a company could do a sloppy, unacceptable job on my house awning, and not only expect payment for it, but serve me a summons. (the first page only of the summons pdf file is attached) From Eric Edward Nord law firm, the copies included with their hard copy 1pg Summons, are, a 4pg Complaint, the 1pg Donahue Roofing contract, their 1pg Invoice(without my notes), and their 3pg Construction Lien. Because of the unacceptable awning replacement job, I still have not paid the balance $1,527.40. The total bid was $6,300; (I received from Safeco - $4,726.20). The balance of $1,527.40, is the estimate amount I got from Hanks Body Shop to paint my car. Since that day, I found out I could have the damage to my 1980 el Camino (see attached photo) buffed out for about $400. To clean all the items in my garage, a cleaning service charges $95/hr two people. I would estimate it would take about 8 hours = $760. Most of my communications about this are via email with photos. I have all of the photos and can email them to you. I have attached some photos, and only hope I found them all. I have the email messages and can get them to you also.(see below the message content copied and pasted.) My worry is the time factor for the summons.(see attached file of front page of this summons) I am somewhat dyslectic and looked through the summons for a due date and saw none. I showed the front page of the summons to my tax adviser who pointed out the 20-day deadline. When the summons was served to me, I was so caught off guard, I am not sure exactly the day this summons was served me, but I would guess during the week of Dec 4, 2016. I was shocked and I am very concerned about the 20-day deadline. The balance I came up with is $1527.40 minus $760,(cleaning items in garage) minus $400 (buff car paint) = $367.40. And that amount I would pay to Donahue Roofing after an acceptable awning is installed and the rain gutter replaced properly. Even though still needed (other items listed on the Safeco estimate (see attached pdf file) and not done or replaced some are: Back storm window replaced, window trim prepared and painted, garage wall & garage door opening trim repaired and painted are yet to be done. As for other repairs and replacement items, Adam said he would help with those. No help from him yet..

Donahue failed to show up at appointment.
Description of Work: I used Donahue's website to set up an estimate request. Within one day someone from Donahue Donahue called me to set up an appointment to provide an estimate. I took a late lunch the day we agreed to meet and waited for Donahue. Donahue never showed up or called. Ultimately I had to make up hours at work because I waited around for Donahue who never showed up.

The liaison for Donahue roofing (I forget his name) was courteous and professional. However, I have issue with the following: 1) Took three weeks to start work 2) Failed to show up for two days after they said they would be there - had to complain. 3) Failed to clean up once work was complete. Nails and asphalt everywhere in the gutters and on the ground - complained again. 4) Failed to properly install roof vents - had to complain again. 5) Failed to properly nail down all of the shingles - had to complain again. 6) Left a full package of shingles on the ground by my house - didn't bother complaining at that point. Overall, I would say that I am a dissatisfied customer. They just don't do very good work and are unreliable at best. I would recommend shopping elsewhere.

Initially it went well. Work was completed in the time frame and for the price quoted. ~3 years after roof was installed it began to leak severely around the skylights and and chimneys. 3 weeks of phone calls to company were ignored (2 calls/week). Finally, Randy did respond to additional messages left on his cell phone and stopped by to inspect the problem. He assured me that a crew would be there in the next couple of weeks to make repairs. This crew never materialized. All subsequent calls were ignored and I have never heard back from the company. I finally called a different roofing company to inspect the leaks. They found that there was faulty workmanship at a basic level with insufficient overlap in every location where the roof connected to a vertical surface (chimneys, 1st floor roof meets 2nd floor outside walls, etc.) and all these areas had to be redone at a cost of ~$2000. I would advise against ever using this company due to a lack of adequate knowledge of basic proper roofing practices and the failure to provide any follow-up regarding faulty workmanship.

They responded fairly quickly, did some roof repair around a sky-light, but we had to have another company redo the work when it continued to leak. We later received an angry phone call from Mr. Donahue asking why we hadn't paid for service, when we hadn't received a single bill. He specifically asked us to drive to his personal home and pay that day. We did, he wasn't home, the lady of the house "wouldn't" come to the door, and we paid the teenage daughter. So unprofessional!

Don't use this roofer.
Description of Work: We have paid them $2500 to purchase supplies on September 23, 2011, Paid $500 on October 30, 2011, after shingles were removed from house with the intent that the shingles would be removed from garage the following day. That didn't happen. They didn't get removed until November 7, 2011 . November 10, 2011 we purchased supplies $2119.00 and had them delivered to our roof. Shingles delivered November10. They are sitting on the roof in my hopes that the job is going to get finished. So far paid out $5119.00 and still waiting. Made lots of promises that were not kept.
