This company has a "Satisfaction Guaranteed" line on their business card. Don't believe it. I requested a quote for 4 jobs, the details are as follows. These two are far from professionals, use caution, read on if you want my details of my jobs.First off let me start by stating that the initial quote was per job, but when I asked Jeremy how he was charging, he stated to me that it was by the man hour, $35/man/hour, of which they only put in 7 hours on July 27th and 5 hours on July 30th, totaling 24 man hours (12 hours per man over the two day job). Jeremy claims that they were here for a total of 28 man hours. On top of that, 50% of the tools they used were mine (for the bathroom window and laying the flooring).Any work done that is under $1000, they require a 100% deposit, anything over $1000, they require 50% down; I paid them $1000 up front for the jobs, estimate total $1700.The start time was to be at 7 a.m. each morning, they were here and ready to go at 7 sharp on Friday, but on Monday, they weren't here and when I tried to call them, 30 minutes later, they texted me and stated that they were having truck problems and that they were going to be about 2 hours late. That's fine, I understand delays, but wouldn't a "professional" be courteous enough to call and let you know of the delay?I was initially quoted $700 to change a bathroom window, install a bathroom exhaust fan, and replace a roof vent, which I found very reasonable...until I witnessed their work. The bathroom window was not squared up and the "jack stud" they used was too long so I now have a lifted corner in the upper right hand side of the window (using MY sawzall, compound miter saw and table saw). The job they did on installing the window assisted me in my decision NOT to have them do the finish work. The exhaust fan went in ok, no real issues there except when I terminated the work, they tried to claim there was no refund as part of the refund, $20, was used to purchase a tool that they did not have....WHAT???? What contractor charges his client for a tool? Not to mention that I had to purchase a hole saw and arbor for them to cut a hole in the outer wall which was $70!! The hole they had to cut for the fan box was cut too big and/or out of alignment for the fan cover to cover the hole, and their response, "just use caulk". They picked up their mess in the house before they left (using MY shopvac), but left without cleaning up the outside of the house where all of the demo material was left from removing the old window frame and cutting through the wall for the vent. The only thing that I can say that I am ok with their workmanship with is on the roof vent (again, using my ladder). What contractor comes to your house ill equipped for the job and uses YOUR tools!?!?!?!?The flooring was what finalized my terminating the work....They initially stated that the flooring would be done in a day, but when they started, it took them almost 5 hours install ONE room with a closet....ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?!? AND they were cutting the flooring INSIDE the house where I was living causing dust to cover EVERYTHING!!! I asked them that they do the cutting outside which they did with some whining. This is important, because when I explained what finalized my decision for ending the work was that I wasn't going to pay $35 dollars an hour for someone to stand out side of a window WAITING to get measurements for the next peace of flooring to cut, Shown stated that it was MY fault for them taking so long on the flooring because I asked them to cut outside.....ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?!? (Oh, and again, using MY saw to cut the flooring which totally destroys saw blades...MY saw blades!!).I started this whole process STRESSING the importance of TIME...they stated they could have it done in the time needed....after two days of USING MY TOOLS AND HELPING THEM FIGURE THINGS OUT, and still not even half way done with the job, it was a pretty easy for me to make my decision to terminate the work. When I asked for an amended receipt and a partial refund of the down payment, I was originally told that it was in the mail, which I now feel I was lied to about and they never intended to refund ANYTHING....SATISFACTION GUARANTEED???? I DON'T THINK SO!!
Description of Work: Remove and install a bathroom window, install a bathroom exhaust fan, and replace a roof vent. ($700 total)Install laminate flooring with pad attached throughout the first floor, approximately 800 square feet. ($1000)
