Called Bradford Roofing as the previous owner of the house believed that they were the last contractor to work on the roof, and the "new" roof had been leaking. I had given the receptionist at Bradford the name of the former owner so that she could pull up the file. She told me that the file was in a different location, but wasn't sure. She seemed confused, and I got the impression that they aren't too organized in the office. However, at one point she seemed to have the name of the former owner in the system, but couldn't see what was done or when. Two men with Bradford Roofing came to the house and climbed up the ladder. They came in two separate company trucks. Both got on top of the roof with a ladder, and I went with them. They told me that the roof job wasn't any job of Bradford's...One of the men showed me some spots where the roof might be leaking and made some suggestions as to what to do with it. I thanked them, and thought they were leaving. But, one man came back and handed me a tube of black tar patch to use in a caulk gun. I thanked him for the tube (like $3-$4 tube). I received a bill about a week later for $135! I called Bradford and the owner got on the phone and accused me of lying about who I was, that I claimed to have been someone else. I never did, and what that would have to do with anything is beyond me. Then, he told me that was the cost of them to drive to my place from the location that they were in before. They were already in the area, it was not an emergency call, and they certainly did not need to bring TWO trucks. And, the receptionist did have the former owner's name in her system. Bradford employees told me that the roof was a lot older than four years as the Seller had claimed, but when asked to put that into writing, the owner of Bradford told me that he would not do that without paying him a substantial fee (like $250 or something ridiculous like that).
Description of Work: Two employees from Bradford Roofing came on a call due to an ongoing leaking roof. They said it wasn't their job as the former owner had said, spent about 10 minutes looking at my roof telling me that it was a lot older than I was told by the Seller of the house, and gave me a tube of black roof tar repair a couple spots and left.
