I called Jeff about a front load washer and instead of making a trip to the house in a week to look at it, he was able to offer some assistance over the phone which sounds like it's going to do the trick. He didn't have to do that and I really appreciated it. If it turns out something is wrong, I'll be calling him back for sure!

+ -1 moreJeff identified that the problem with the washing machine lied in the water heater, which was producing a lot of sediment. This blocked the hot water as the sediment built up. There was not a problem if we had the settings on cold water for wash and rinse. He helped to solve this and cleaned out all of the lines for the washing machine. He demonstrated a very good understanding of difference appliances (it was helpful that he knows a number of appliances, plumbing, heating, etc. to troubleshoot and fix problems). We are very satisfied with the fix. After all these months, everything is working fine. I would not hesitate to contact A1 again.
Description of Work: We were experiencing a few different problems that manifested in low hot water pressure. We contacted A1 Appliance because of a friend's reference because our washing machine was not working. Jeff at A1 Appliance troubleshooted the situation and the fix solved a number of other problems around the water pressure! We were very satisfied.

Description of Work: Our washing machine spin cycle wasn't completing the water extraction. The clothes were dripping wet after the cycle completed. We called Sears where we bought the machine to find we would be scheduled in after the Holidays. The weather report indicated we'd be seeing single digits so going into the holidays with treks to a laundromat had little appeal. My husband called A-1 Appliance Repair and Jeff said he'd be over in 15 minutes. We were still sipping coffee in our robes and figured 15 minutes would probably turn out to be at least an hour. It didn't. He was at the door in ten minutes. We scrambled into clothes and Jeff had the washing machine disassembled and a new clutch put in (allowed me some time to vacuum in nooks and crannies) in 30 minutes. We felt like the Lone Ranger had been here especially after a bill of only $133.00. The washing machine is now working and we learned this issue is not uncommon with the model we purchased. (they need a heavier duty clutch for long-term use)
