Bellsouth did not honor its commitment. Then I found out how absolutely terrible Bellsouth's customer service really is. I had to make multiple calls to them to ask that they honor their commitment. Almost each and every person I talked to was, at best, mildly competent. Most p0f them had no idea what they were doing, had no knowledge to enable them to access my account, could not understand simple numbers such as my home telephone number (no, I do not have an accent) and in general should not have been employed there. Finally I had enough and I called, at my expense, the Office of the President in Atlanta. Well, guess what, the office of the President is not in Atlanta but in Kansas City. I did speak with someone there and I was promised that the billing would be corrected. Now this is some 90 days after Bellsouth made a commitment to me. I spend (or did spend) about $100 per month on my home bill (2 lines and DSL) as well as about $220 per month with them on Cell Service. It took the President's office, as well as a transfer to another President's office (this time in San Diego) 60 days to begin correcting the problem. Yes, they did issue credits but only now, April, 2011 is the bill correct. In the meantime I have decided to wean myself from Bellsouth/AT&T. I canceled the second line (FAX) at home and I will be moving my cell service to another carrier. Oh, the cancellation of the second line went as requested. The service was stopped. But, Bellsouth, in their infinite wisdom, decided to male the single line bill to a Post Office Box that I terminated over TEN YEARS ago. WOW, what mental giants inhabit Bellsouth. I received a telephone call from Bellsouth and basically I was treated as a criminal for them sending a bill to the incorrect box number. It again took the intervention of the President's office to get the billing straight. Well, we'll see what happens on an ongoing basis. I must say the two President's offices were exceedingly polite and it took them only a day each time to correct the problem. I still do not understand what the local offices could not take care of the problem.
Description of Work: I have Bellsouth (AT&T) DSL service at home. Bellsouth charges me $43.00 per month yet advertises $19.95 per month. I called Bellsouth and they agreed to reduce my bill to $19.95 per month for one year. That was nice of them, BUT
