The house didn't pass inspection twice and there are has been 2 stop work orders on the construction. The inspector said the builder needs to tear it down and start over. The ceiling joist, wall studs and floor joist are not in code. The inspector said it's just so much that is wrong. Our house sits on blocks that are not connected to the footing and the footing is not deep enough. Studs are not cut evenly. He used wood that was used at another property. Our flooring is not up to code. The list just goes on. The builder said he should have been able to tell us that the farm house was not in any shape to renovate because it did have rotten wood and termite damage, however, he never said anything. He replaced some and then left the other wood. When we asked him about the wood he said it was ok. It's just very upsetting. This project has been going on for 1 year and so far, all that has been done is the framing and it's wrong! Make sure you are not in Madison County because he cannot get any permits there. We are going to the MS Board of Contractors to file a complaint. We want our money back. Do not use this contractor. He cannot get any more permits in Madison County MS. You can verify what I have said with Madison County. You can also come by our property and see the house. From the outside, it looks ok, but according to codes, it's not. Another family sued him and won. He separates his business from his personal because if he is sued, you can't get anything, just like the other family didn't get anything. Do not use this contractor!! You will regret it. You are more than welcome to stop by and take a look, it is really terrible.
