They were good. We had to get a new drain for the shower. It cost $5000. It wasn't them, they had another company work for them. They came out and diagnosed the problems. They fixed what they had to do, they had to tear the shower up. The money came in to rebuild the shower and put the sewer back. What they did was $700 or $800. You have to follow up. The workers were okay, the sub-contractors were a mess.

They are not coming back to my house

The technician was prompt, courteous, informative. He quickly identified the source of the leak as the garbage disposer, and he recommended a few replacement units. The prices he quoted seemed high, so I demurred and did some research (holy smokes, I was right). But despite the astronomical quote (almost $1000 to replace the unit), the service was very good, and I had a great experience with their customer service operation. If I could afford to ignore price, I would use them every time.

Well , they were professional and completed work in a timely manner

The work was done in a very professional manner. John S explained the costs involved, was always on time, explained well what was done and why. Unfortunately it turned out to be super expensive. With approximately 15 hours spent at our home I estimated and hourly rate of two hundred dollars without materials. A couple days later I got a phone call from a lady saying she was from Stewart Plumbing, how the work went and if somebody could bring a gift. Well sure. Turns out the gift was not from Stewart Plumbing, just from ( I assume a relative) who used customer information for her own cosmetic side business. This was just weird.

Service tech called prior to arrival and was on time. Introduced himself and made sure he understood the issue prior to starting the work. Very professional, and ensured that he had explained everything and the cost before he started the repair. Went over and beyond to ensure that we were satisfied.

The process was great, they were very professional. On time service, great repair and clean up, and costs within estimate. I was able to get my house back together quickly and with minimal inconvenience.

The input cold water line to our water heater was leaking and had corroded the pipe. Tim, with Stewart Plumbing arrived right on time and took out bad line and replaced along with new valve. It is a professional job and looks great!! Very happy with the service and price was reasonable also.

Found Stewart Plumbing on Angie's List. Call experience was excellent. The technician, Michael, arrived on time. I explained my problem and we discussed my options. Michael was very professional, friendly and communicated well throughout the entire process. When the job was complete, Michel had also cleaned up the mess created by the slow moving and clogged drains. I will be calling Stewart Plumbing again.

I was told a technician would come and assess the situation - a service charge apples. I informed I did not need an assessment; I just wanted a quote to replace 2 water heaters. The lady taking my call said she had no prices - which seems unusual for a company offering a professional service.

We had a contractor update our bathrooms with new tile and plumbing. In the middle of the job, we had to fire them because they were doing a terrible job. The shower started leaking down into the first floor so we called Stewart Plumbing because of the good reviews they received on Angie's List. Mindy was as pleasant and helpful as everyone said she was. They dispatched Rod within the hour of my call and after a couple of minor hiccups, the problem was taken care of. While I didn't expect the cost to be as high as it was, they provided several options, were very professional in their communication and did a good job. I would certainly use them again.

Arrived on time, clean, polite, excellent work

The technician was very pleasant but the prices are absolutely out of line! The estimate for just the shower valve install was $1433. I got in touch with my friend who is a master plumber in Minneapolis who said that the cost should be somewhere between $500 and $600. He said that he never judges other contractors' quotes, but that this time it was clear that they are "legitimately trying to screw someone." Obviously, it didn't matter what any of the other estimates were for (but if you're interested, it was $3950 to move the drain and water lines and $1003.60 to install 2 sink faucets) because I am not going to consider this company given my experience. Sad that this is supposed to be one of the outstanding plumbing companies in Memphis and that they have earned commendations from Angie's List. I definitely was interested due to the reviews. Not so much anymore...

Professional, thorough, and timely. Original assessment was reasonable and very thorough. This inspection is what showed up the leak. It evidently had been in existence for awhile as indicated by the mold, but was in an area seldom used and therefore went undetected. Started, by tearing out the sheet rock to locate the leak. That's when it was determined that the concrete would have to be busted up in order to get to and repair the leak successfully. Therefore the price went up significantly, but the job was handled expediently and professionally.

I called about a leaking water heater at approx 330pm and they had someone at the house to look at it by 430pm. They gave me a quote after talking about how old both water heaters were and I decided to get both replaced (15 years old, one was already leaking). They were able to come out the next day and replace both water heaters. It did take all day ( 9am to 530pm) but replacing 2 is alot of work and there are new codes in my area (seismic) that required extra work. The techs who worked on the job communicated very well and went out of their way to not leave a mess in the house (in the attic or in the main areas). When the job was finished they were very thorough, checking all faucets and tubs and letting me verify their work and making sure I was familiar with operating the water heater if needed. I got a six year warranty on the tanks and 1 year on labor. The only reason I did not rank them as 'A' overall was price. I would use and again and highly recommend.

I had Stewart Plumbing come out in December of 2014 to level two toilets that were rocking and replace the wax ring. Fast forward 1 year to December 2015 and I noticed there was water leaking from the bottom of one of the toilets they worked on. I called and they came out the next day and determined the wax ring didn't set correctly when they originally installed it a year ago. They fixed it at no additional cost. A few days later, we noticed the toilet was now rocking again...significantly. So, I called Stewart back and again, no problem whatsoever. They arranged for a plumber to come back out today. They worked on this toilet for 3 1/2 hours today. Replaced a cracked toilet flange, reset, leveled, and eventually ended up having to bolt the toilet into the foundation. Now, they charged me a lot 1 year ago to originally install and level it, but when it came to backing up their work and making sure I was satisfied, I feel like I got a deal. No frustration on their end, just disappointed that I was having so much trouble with it. Definitely would recommend Stewart.

They came right out and fixed the issue.

The gentleman that came out was really excellent and very nice, but the price was extremely high for the hour they spent installing it. The person who took the intake call was also very nice and professional.

I called the main number and asked for an estimate to replace a hot water heater. They said it was impossible to do without coming out to see it, so we scheduled a home visit for $69. The installer quoted me a price of $3,500 and couldn't say how much was for the tank and how much for the installation because he was quoting from a book. I asked for a written estimate and never received one. I hope it's because they're embarrassed about charging so much. If the installer is quoting from a book, it seems like the first person on the phone could have quoted from the same book to give me a basic estimate. Their response time is excellent. They were the first people to respond out of all the people I called. So if you're really desperate and you're willing to pay a premium for someone to show up quickly, they're good about that.

They were to be here from 8am to 10 am...I got a call at 10 am telling me they were 30 minutes out....I challenged that they were supposed to come between 8am and 10am. They asked if they could still come and I allowed it. They did not arrive until 11am. Same as similar review I read today on here, had them come out to do an estimate for converting an electric stove to gas. I already have a gas manifold with availability in the attic. My furnace, water heater and fireplace are all gas already. The estimate was $2800. . I did a lot of research on cost and depending on how far away they have to run from the manifold, the cost should be between 300 on low end, 1000 on high end. His estimate was 2800....glad to see the other reviewer got more reasonable estimates, as I have several more lined up this week. Advice to this company....if gas installation is not your thing, dont it! Because of that price gouging I wont call you for anything else. Of course he tried to talk to me about replacing my gas water heater, but sorry, not a way to earn my business. I will update when I get more estimates and the job is done!

I have a real problem with Stewart Plumbing. After using them for years my wife decided otherwise sometime ago. Still I called them to come out and fix an obvious water leak outside my house. I was told that there would be a call out fee of $69. When the technician arrived I showed him the leak as it was coming up out of the ground. No doubt it was a leak and where it was located. We concluded that while it could be a water feed, it could also be an irrigation line rupture. Regardless it needed to be fixed. The technician determined that it was an irrigation line and while he admitted that he had the parts on his truck he did not want to fix it. He instead wanted the $69 call out fee so he could leave. I will never use these people again. The wife was right. There I said it!

We were wanting to convert our electric stove with gas. Our Current one has bit the dust and we were hoping to replace it with a gas stove/oven. As I always do with repairs, I got several quotes (6). The other quotes ranged from $520 to $700. Stewart Plumbing was $3000! Reading their written quote, I can see no major differences in the service being performed than the others. Also found compression nut leaking on inlet to hot water heater. Tech said in quote "Minor copper re-pipe on water heater" $450. Can't really understand the pricing.

Stewart Plumbing was very competent for the job of finding a hidden leak in the wall and replacing a worn out shut-off valve. Job required cutting into sheet-rock. He was able to cut neat holes to locate leak and even labeled each piece as to where they went, which will help me when I begin repairing the wall. Cost of repairing leak was on par with last plumbing company I used, but Stewart Plumbing seemed to much more competent in locating leak. The cost of replacing the valve was high, but the job was done right and I don't ever have to worry about it leaking water when turning off or on in the future.

They technician provided me with a quote directly out of their book. I found this kind of odd, since the person on the phone said they could not provide even a rough estimate over the phone, regardless of the level of detail I supplied them. I saw the book, and it was simple. Install a customer-supplied shower/bath valve unit.....$520. They could have told me this over the phone, and nobody would have wasted time with the house call. I promptly declined, and they waived the $69 estimate fee.
