"Thank you very kindly for your positive review! We appreciate you choosing us as your plumber, and look forward to serving you in the future."
"[Member name removed], we regret to see that you did not have a completely satisfactory experience with Stewart Plumbing. We have reviewed your paperwork and have determined that the pricing for this job was accurate. Our call center scheduled your call and had a technician to your home at 9am the very next morning. Our technician diagnosed your issue and provided you with two different options to handle your leaking ground hydrant. With your approval we replaced your ground hydrant. As an Angie's List customer, we authorized our technician to waive your trip fee with an agreement to do the work, and provide you with a 10% discount. Our technician left your home at 11:15, and your hydrant issue was completely resolved. In your comments you said that the work was "fine," but you have left us a "D" in the quality category. We are very sorry that we were not able to accommodate your pricing needs, but that is why it is very important to us that we provide you with an up front cost before any work is done. Thank you for your review. It is important that we use these outlets to continually improve our services. If you have any issues with your new ground hydrant, please do not hesitate to call. We stand behind the quality of our work."

I called them to come fix a leak in the wall of a bathroom shower.
The "technician" came, more or less on time, actually at the very end of the 3-hour window, and puzzled over the situation for an hour or more. End result: Didn't have the part. Didn't know how long it might take to get the part. Didn't do anything to solve the problem, but he did tell us WE HAD A LEAK in the wall. His only remedy: collect the $196, and leave the water turned off in the house 'til he solved the rest of the great mystery. Oh, and he left us a set of quotes: $2,300 to replace the shower valve, or $600 to replace the cartridge (the source of the leak.)
IN THE MEANTIME, I came home, removed the wall plate, removed and repaired the part to stop the water leak, and ordered the part myself. It's available from Amazon, Prime, at $33.

I explained the problem to Mike and we went out to look under the house to see where the access point to the main drain line was located. Mike quickly realized that the easiest and fastest way to get the cleaning auger into the line was to go into the bathroom and pull up the toilet. I hadn't considered this approach and I have to admit it made good sense. Plus the toilet had become loose over the past few years and needed to be pulled up, rewaxed, set and anchored again.
Once getting the plan laid out, Mike put together an estimate for the work to be performed: 1) pull toilet and reset, 2) use rotary auger to clean drain line. Stewart Plumbing works from a standard price book, so it was fast and easy to understand the work to be performed and the cost before anything was done.
Before starting any serious work, Mike took the time to cover the floors from the outside door to the bathroom with drop clothes and to put down flat sheets of cardboard on the bathroom floor for protection. While he was draining the water and pulling up the toilet, a second Stewart Plumbing truck pulled up to the curb. Just so happens that second technicians name was also Mike. With the two Mikes working together, they used the power auger to snake out our main drain line from the bathroom all the way to the city connector at the street. It appears that the problem was some roots that had gotten into a joint in the old cast-iron drain pipe from a pine tree next door. Our neighbor recently had her entire drain line replaced due to tree roots. Once the line was cleaned and draining freely, Mike #2 packed up the auger in his truck and left.
Mike then cleaned up the work area, set a new wax ring and reinstalled the toilet. He then applied a bead of caulk around the base of the toilet. We then went over the job again and Mike explain what he had done to clear the line and suggested that if the problem reoccurs in the future, it might be necessary to replace the main line to the city connector.
We reviewed the work invoice and work performed along with Mike's notes related to the problem.
Mike was very professional, courtesy and knowledgable. All together Mike was onsite approximately 2 hours.
Shortly after Mike left our house, Veronica called to check on the work and to make sure that we were satisfied with the work and if we had any questions.
Overall, I'd say that this was about as pleasant an experience, considering the circumstances, as one could hope to have achieved.
From the very get go, the entire Stewart Plumbing team was professional, understanding and sympathetic to our situation.
We highly recommend that you give Stewart Plumbing a call if the need arises.
Tim was great. I called the service number on Wed morning and set up a time for an inspection after I returned home from work . Tim (the owner) was on time and very professional. I explained my problem and showed him the leaky area.
I must state that the area that was leaking had a repair done previously by another company. About 18 months ago. The dry wall was cut away never repaired properly from the last job by the former repair men.
Tim took a look and determined that the leak was originating from the prior work. There was quiet a bit of repair work that needed to be done to properly fix the pipe. Tim also took the time to inspect other areas inside and outside my house to make sure there were no other leaks. Since it was about 7pm, I made arrangements for Tim to send one of his repair men out on Friday morning. Tim also indcated he would call me back on Thursday morning with a repair estimate.
On Friday morning Mike showed up to make the repair. Once he was able to move the vanity, he made a larger cut into the dry wall and discovered the extent of the problem. It appeared that the prior repair company had used a combination of white plastic piping and these crimping style connectors in stead of repairing the copper pipe with copper pipe. There were easily 8 of these connections in about a 2 foot run of pipe. Mike did a great job of cleaning it all out and replacing it with copper line properly angled and joined. He also installed new hot and cold water cutoff valves / lines for the sink and a new valve and line for the toliet. He cleaned out the old insullation and put in new. He even cut a new piece of dry wall to replace the drywall that was damamged and missing from the last job. Mike worked on this repair for about 51/2 to 6 hours.
The pricing was fair and well worth the quality of work and service I received. Anyone who qestions price should always remember that you get what you pay for. I feel I received a great value. I live in a rual area, on a local community water systems that has frequent water preasure fluctuations. I have confidence in this repair and do not worry about it leaking in the future.
I am so impressed with the level of quality and work that I have Tim pricing some addidtional work to bring better water preasure up to and in the house.
Thanks Tim and Mike!
