Not a good experience. I saw their ad in the Commercial Appeal and saw they had an A+ BBB rating(beware! not always accurate) They got most of the money up front with only 25% at most done. I really got schooled. NEVER AGAIN. Note: (this is what I have learned) MOST reputable home improvement people will not ask for anything but a deposit to pay for supplies and paint before finishing the work. The total price was $4000.00. They had agreed to work $800 out with me doing a website for them. They wanted ($1200) down to start. The time frame was ridiculously delayed but I was being nice and worked with them because I thought they were on the "up and up" and that they could get most done when we went on vacation.. Then, before my kids and I went on vacation for a week in July, they wanted another $1200-Even though they had really not done even 1/3 of the work, I paid them in good faith expecting MOST of it to be done when we got back,-the painting was supposed to be finished as well as the outside wood replacement and painting, shower floor replacement etc. when we got back. They worked 1-1 1/2 days and then THEY went on vacation for 10 days (the day we came back home). We came back to hardly ANYTHING done plus the biggest mess imaginable as well as piles of wood and nails thrown up in my driveway. Not fun! After their vacation, 10 days later (after I got back from mine), they called and said they were coming to finish but needed another $800.The remaining balance ($800) I was going to be in trade by doing them the nice website. I had already produced a new logo for them and secured their domain name. Their website was in process but we do good work and it takes time. They kept acting like they weren't getting paid when I had already paid them at least $1000 over the work they had done-They said they had finished the all of work outside-another lie. They said they had tried to come work several days but it was not convenient with me. PURE BS. The main day in question was the 4th of July and my son was having a party here! Plus one of few days off for us-Not a good day to have work done in the house. Anyway- I said NO-I will not pay you the final $800 until the work is done. (this was on top of my website price)-They said they had no website yet, etc etc...just more BS I didn't need to deal with so I fired them. I had to pay another company the same amount to finish the work and they didn't even do some of it from the original contract from All Home Improvements. But they were EXCELLENT and worked daily for a week until it was finished! what a relief! I lost at least $1000 on the deal. I would NOT recommend AHI and learned ALOT if I ever have to hire someone for painting or home improvement jobs in the future. All I can say is BEWARE! And don't take a BBB rating for face value.
Description of Work: We were getting ready to put our home up for sale. They were supposed to do assorted painting on the inside and outside of my home plus replace rotten wood around windows. Also to replace shower floor and fix banisters.

There are always two sides to a story.... I gave her a price of 2400.00 for rotten wood, window work, painting and 1600.00 for inside work which was for mudding (3 times), and painting the kitchen, master bathroom, and guest bathroom. Which she talked me down on the total price. Most of the time she communicated with me thru text messages that I still have. She asked me if I would be interested in setting up a website for my business in exchange of 800.00. I told her that would be good. She told me it would take a week to get it completed. I them went ahead and did a contract that she signed with payments as follows. 1200.00 down( materials and Labor) I did all the outside work (except painting) and mudded all the seames in the kitchen and both bathrooms 3 times. We also had to go back and rebuild one of the windows that we completed on the previous day because her Ex husband ran the sprinkler ALL NIGHT HITTING THE WINDOW and ruined our work so we had to spend a whole day, pay my help, and more materials to repair FOR FREE NO EXTRA CHARGE. Next as stated on contract I got the 2nd down payment 1200.00. It took her 2 days from Wed-Fri.to receive at 1pm then tells me she is borrowing the money from her MOM. It took 3 times to get this check cashed to keep working (later she told me she didn't expect me to cash the check) for more labor and materials and told me she was starting the website and never did. After finally cashed, she told me she was going on vacation with only a 24 hour notice. I told from the beginning when my vacation was. I had no idea what tile she wanted for the shower floor. While she was gone we finished what was needed on the outside and painted what we worked on. and sanded the inside and started painting the kitchen. Next, I went on vacation for 5 days not 10 days (you do not count the weekends). When I got back into town I called her and needed the final 800.00 to complete the job. At this point, I did not trust her and was not going to complete the work and not get final payment along with the website that she still needed to complete and was procrastinating. When I asked for final payment she said it would be another month before website would be ready but in the beginning she said it would take a week. This should have been started at the beginning of job so that everything would have been done at the same time. I am not going to complete job and hope she would do the website and then I get cheated after the job was done and never get paid which is exactly what was going to happen. At this time she should have been giving me the website to confirm her deal made with me. I did not trust her at all and knew I shouldn't do any more work unless another payment that went threw was received. Before everyone went on vacation, we tried to work everyday. She would have us come in the afternoon to work which did not give us a lot of time to work long hours. and even offered to work on 4th of July to give up our holiday to work on her house and she agreed to it and then later called and told us just to wait. There was no mess outside. There was a pile of wood and trash that was at the end of the drive way where she requested we put it. No contractor cleans up everyday. All clean up and hauling away is done when job is at completion. Really... Who hires a contractor and signs a contract and does not actually have the money and tells the contractor this and has to call her mom to borrow the money???? So once again I DID NOT TRUST HER TO PAY ME FOR MY WORK. If anyone got ripped off it was me. I DID 75% OF THE WORK. I DID THE WHOLE OUTSIDE FOR $2400.00 (THAT IS ALL SHE PAID ME TOTAL FOR A $4000.00 JOB) AND I DID ALL THE MUDDING AND SANDING ON THE INSIDE. I was not fired I told her without the payment or website I was done until I received ONE of the two. I LOST $$$ NOT HER. Thanks

He did pretty good work but the work was slow. I felt like he needed more help to get the work done in a timely manner. The overall experience was good but it just wasn't quite as professional as I would have liked. I was in the wrong just as much as he was, work was good, but he just bit off more than he could chew.
Description of Work: He did some bathroom work for us, and we had agreed to do other work but it just didn't work out.

How did we get over our head? It was a small job. We cut sheetrock out on ceiling, mudded it, taped it and blew texture on ceiling. Told the customer it would take 2-3 times minimum to mud ceiling. I came on a Friday and had to mud 2 more times to make it perfect. I told her I would be back Monday to complete because it takes time for mud to dry. Sometimes mud shrinks and have to do more to look right. I came back Monday, completed it, and she was satisfied. This was a simple job.
