Work not what requested. Drain placed but not leveled appropriately. Only 1 of 4 drains collected water. No sod available due to weather. Dangerous old galvanized pipe left above ground. Wedge would not listen to our requests for work to be done as we requested. Became irate and insulting, finally had to tell him to leave - he became a bit unpredictable and I was a bit fearful at one point. I would not use him again or recommend him to anyone else.
Description of Work: French drain, gutters.

Response from wedge custom homes, llc
Owner had a relative that was once a contractor, and thought that she had all of the answers in construction. I was not the first contractor that had a problem with her. Last contractor actually walked away from the job. She was given a drawing showing exactly what would be done, and the work was done exactly per drawings and contract. I also did additional work to her house at no charge to her. A french drain was installed, and in order to install and function properly, the grade had to be sloped to where the water could enter the catch basins. Even though the catch basing were shown on the drawings, she was upset that there were drains in her yard. I asked how she thought the water could get into the drainage system without a means for the water to enter. She told me that it was not what she thought she would get. The system was installed by a licensed plumber that installs these systems for a living. The sod was not part of my contract as she was going to get another landscape contractor to install. I gave her a price to furnish and install the sod but she said my price was too high. I gave her a price of $210.00 to furnish and install a pallet full of sod. she declined. I told her that the sod was a very important part of the system, and that the grading that I did would have to be redone at time of sod placement, and if it rained, the grading that I did would be damaged. Well quite a bit of rain occurred prior to the sod installation, and if the grading was not redone prior to the sod installation, the system would not function properly. I do not know who installed the sod, or if the ground wall graded out properly. I actually graded the ground 3 times due to the rain, but that was not enough. she was upset because I told her that her ideas to repair would not work, nor meet code. she would not listen and thought that her way was the only way. The pipe that she mentioned, was not galvanized, but cast iron, and when I left the job was 5 inches lower than the grade. It was an existing pipe (not functional) that was exposed while digging the trench for the new drain. I shower her husband before I left that the pipe was totally covered and that when the sod was installed would have an additional 2" of cover...He understood, she was quite irate that it had to be 12" below grade for no one to trip on. I told her that what i did would pass code. she told me that she was the customer and that I had to do whatever she wanted. I told her that I would dig out and lower the pipe at additional cost. she told me again that she was the customer and I had to do it because she said so. When I mentioned to her that the stump of the shrubs that she cut down was sticking above the ground 6" and was more of a trip hazard than the buried pipe was, she ordered me off of the property. I do not know how long it took her to have the sod installed, but with the rain that happened the week prior to my leaving may have washed away the fresh top soil installed to slope the grade to the drains, thus possibly exposing the pipe in question. It was not left as a trip hazard, her husband watched me lower and bury the pipe before I left. Unfortunately, she is the type of customer that expresses the fact that she knows construction, and that she knows how things should be done, but could not understand an autocad layout of the system, and that a drainage system required a way for water to enter the system, thus the catch basins. When I left, the system as installed, was exactly per the drawing, and exactly as required by code. I am sorry for her misunderstanding.
