I cannot say enough how pleased I am with Perkins Home Improvement. I had obtained several estimates and his was right in the middle. From day one, he showed up when he said he was going to, worked hard, and cleaned up behind himself. What impressed me the most (besides how reliable he was) was his attention to detail. This was a pretty involved job which involved demolishing a room that was built onto the back of my home some time before I bought this house. The demolition was completed in a single day. Then came the restoration of the back of the house to it's original condition. The exterior room had tar where the roof met the house's exterior wall and some of the tar proved resistant to being scraped off. Scottie cut out those sections of wood and replaced them and once painted I swear I can barely tell where he cut. I live in Belhaven Heights and my house is 70 years old. I needed the 2 interior doors that were going to this added room exchanged for exterior doors. I found out that walls were built deeper back then and he needed to work some construction "magic" in order to get my new doors to fit. I have no idea what he did, but they look "normal" and have a nice tight seal when closed. The first door and frame took close to 6 hours to install and meet his standards, the second door took about 2 hours since he now knew what he needed to do. Some of the roof's fascia and soffit needed replacing where the roof of the added on room touched them. He replaced all of these as well as added some stripping to the exterior walls to match the stripping around the rest of the house (all of the original stripping had been removed when this room was added). He then pressure washed the wall and painted it to match the rest of the walls. The end result is it looks like this exterior room never, ever existed. On a scale of 1-10 my satisfaction is a 10. In the next month or so I am calling him to build a deck, pergola and laundry shed onto the back of the house. After witnessing how dedicated he is to his craft and hearing horror stories from other who hired less than scrupulous contractors I would not dream of hiring anyone else for any job I plan on doing to my house.
