SOUTHERN HEARTH

The order took months longer than it should have due to "paperwork problems" .. We ordered in early November with a 30day installation window, but was not installed until February! ..of all months to install an awning; any work is better than none I suppose but sure did not save on the price though. On the day of installation the company installers were ill prepared to install the unit. It was larger than they had expected and heavier. They asked another company's contractors working on my property to help them to steady the unit for them to finish the installation without having to call other workers from the SOUTHERN HEARTH company. I did not learn about this until weeks later when that "helper contractor" contacted me. SUNSETTER AWNING COMPANY has since discontinued their partnership with this company and we are now left with an awesome awning, but with no local authorized dealer or repair service.

They kept me waiting in weeks, they never showed up. The guy that came to measure, he missed measured. They have to keep coming back, but it continue to leak. The more they come back the more it leaked. They never kept their appointments. The installer was very rude.

Horrible. They sent a person out who didn't use any drop cloth or anything on the floor. Looked at the gas logs and said we had a leaking valve, but didn't know if they could fix it?! How can a gas log service company not fix a valve? He then was moving the logs around and dropped one and broke in half! He left our house without cleaning up or anything and left my wife with a mess. I have tried to call them 3 times this afternoon and they don't answer their phone.

Gave him a description of what the gas logs were doing (turning off when lit). He inspected the connections, switch on the wall and cleaned them. The logs are working perfectly now and no problems. Definitely would recommend this company and will be using them in the future if we have any other issues with the logs. The post on November 26, 2014 about the company not being in business is not true. They definitely repair and install gas logs and did a fantastic job for us.

This company no longer handles gas log equipment nor do they do repair work. Referred me to another installer who has given me a quote, but I have to buy a new gas log fireplace on my own. Company should not be listed in this category anymore

I called today to schedule a future appointment, BUT they were able to come immediately to serve me. That, alone, was amazing. Brian Hanski arrived a short time later and immediately examined my fireplace. He determined, quickly, that the system was functioning well, albeit needed a slight cleaning around the thermo-couple. He did the cleaning, and then discovered that the wall switch was no longer properly activating the system. When he removed the wall switch, he was able to demonstrate to me that by touching the connection wires together (i.e. completing the circuit), the system would activate normally. All that was needed was a new wall switch, which he installed. After the repair, Brian took the time to advise me about how to keep the thermo-couple clean, and he also advised me further about the proper placement of the and quot;fakeand quot; logs relative to the flame/burner areas. I am very, very pleased with the service and the price, and to see them respond so promptly today was a great and quot;added valueand quot; item. I highly recommend Southern Hearth for fireplace needs and service.

Gas log fireplace was producing an odor. I was so happy with the gentlemen who arrived I decided to purchase gas logs for another fireplace from Southern Hearth who installed those as well. Excellent experience.

I had a question on my gas logs and the smell it was producing. They gave me a recommendation over the phone to try instead of coming out for a service call. It worked and I did not need a service call. I would contact them again if service is needed.

It was outstanding. He could have just as easily told us that our gas logs were beyond repair and sold us some new ones, but he did not. As a matter of fact, he told us that we had one of the top of the line set of logs and they were working perfectly based on his inspection of the venting and all other aspects, other than the line leak, which he fixed.
