Lining and Coating Solutions, LLC (“LCS”) agreed to repair a leak in a water line in my swimming pool, if the leak was in the lower portion of the line. In order to determine where the leak was, the company was to pressure test BOTH the upper and lower portions of the line. If AFTER testing both the upper and lower portions of the line, the leak was found to be only in the lower portion, they agreed to fix it. If any leak was found in the upper portion of the line, they agreed to stop and make no repairs to either portion of the line. The repair was supposed to take ONE afternoon. After working for over two weeks, the water line had still not been repaired. The company's General Manager told me he was “walking away” (his term) at that point. He did acknowledge that he had added another leak to the line by attempting to join two PVC pipes (which his company had negligently installed) together with an inappropriate coupling. This leak, caused by LCS, was viewed by my plumber, my pool maintenance company and my pool repair company. All three were astounded by such shoddy work. Some have questioned why the PVC piping was ever installed, when the company was hired to only line the existing black piping. By “walking away”, the General manager left the leak which he acknowledged he caused, unrepaired. The General Manager admitted to me that his workers had not been truthful with him. While they initially told him they had pressure tested both the upper and lower portions of the line, they later admitted that they had NEVER tested the upper portion. The General Manager now believes that, in addition to the leak his company, LCS, caused, there is likely a leak in the upper portion of the line. Please remember that the company was supposed to pressure test both portions of the line. If there was a leak in the upper portion, they were to not attempt any repairs at all. So this company should have actually never worked to repair the line, had the workers only followed the instructions of the General Manager and pressure tested the upper portion of the line and found the leak he suspects is there. Since LCS caused a leak which had previously not existed, since LCS "walked away" without repairing it and since LCS failed to disclose that it did not test both sections of the line, allowing us to stop work PRIOR TO LCS working on the lower section, I feel that LCS should be responsible for the cost of this repair. I certainly should not be responsible for the cost of fixing damage which should not have occurred, which did not exist until LCS improperly attempted to connect the two PVC lines they installed and which was the direct result of the company's negligent or incompetent work. I had my pool repair company repair the damage/leak caused by LCS at a cost to me of $460. Because I was in no way at fault here and since LCS was solely responsible for the damage, I believe LCS should reimburse me the $460 it cost me to repair the damage they caused to the line. The company has so far refused to reimburse me or reply to any of my multiple requests that they do so. (I should also point out that I am not seeking compensation for the damage the company did to plants and my lawn.) I certainly would NEVER want this company to ever again work on my property and would NEVER refer them to any of my friends and/or family.
