J & R Custom Painting

Mr. James did an excellent job (Thumbs UP) I was so pleased with his work and how he conducted business I only wish I would have known about him a few years ago when I needed other work done. I have already contacted him about doing exterior paint and more interior painting in a few weeks.

Working is James was a disaster. He was not even close to being prompt (showed up more than 2 hrs late sometimes) and never answered his phone or returned messages when we tried to contact him in regards to when he would arrive. When he did show up (there was one day when he didn't show up at all after saying he would), he would only work for a few hours (taking many breaks) before leaving. This drug out what should have been a three-day project to two weeks. Less than ideal for people who need to be at work and not at home waiting around on a contractor... His price was considerably below another quote we received from a different contractor. But given the terrible quality of work, I would never recommend him to another person. We will have to have all of his work redone eventually. The walls that we asked to be smoothed still have visible texture. The ceiling no longer has popcorn but it does have multiple cracks and bumps since it was not floated properly. Save yourself the money and hassle and do not even think about giving him a call.

James from J&R took a deposit of $225 in September 2011. He delayed for 2 plus months and finally washed the deck in December 2011. Then he never showed up again, nor answered my calls. Very unprofessional!

We started with exterior work because it was a good test to see how they would handle the interior (where I would expect serious attention to detail). They would arrive when I expected them and cleaned up behind themselves each day when they left. The exterior work looked good so we moved on to the interior. James is professional and pleasant to work with. Anytime I noticed something that needed some extra attention, he was always happy to take care of it. My house looks great again and now, with a better paint job, I expect it will stay that way much longer.
