We would strongly recommend C&K Air and Heat. Their examination and estimation of our project needs were precisely correct and their execution of the work order went without a hitch. Our furnace stopped working during the night. I called C&K the next morning at 8 am. They had a technician here by 8:45. He diagnosed the problem and had it repaired within an hour and our heat was back on. We've used C&K many times to tune-up our furnaces and A/Cs and to perform repairs. They've always been prompt and we have never felt like they were trying to sell us something we didn't need.

Called C&K, who wanted Model and Serial of York furnace. He called me back to confirm supplier had it stock. Said it would be 85 for part and 85 for labor/trip, and someone would be here in about an hour. Sure enough tech JJ arrived, replaced, and tested. Said his detector didn't find carbon monoxide but he recommends, esp with older furnaces. He subtracted 25 which he said was Angie coupon. I was very pleased. Told him that was even better than the 10 per cent senior discount their Angie info cited.
Description of Work: Furnace blowing cold air. Atmos Energy gas tech was here in a few minutes. Said our gas is ok, but showed me what he called a glow-bar or igniter that lights the natural gas.

Great success! The technician found that the unit had been installed improperly 3 yrs earlier by another A/C company. Freon flow lines were too small which caused the compressor & switches to overheat & eventually fail. Jeff, the technician, spent several hours completely analyzing the problem, recording settings, pressures, & requirements. With his info, the company that installed the unit was made to redo their work (took over 8 hours). New Freon lines, new compressor, and several switches that had failed were installed. This unit now works properly now!

C & K was great. Jeff couldn't find anything wrong on the 1st visit as my furnace decided to start working when he arrived. Of course, after he left, it stopped working again. C & K was able to work m e in right again the next day in between appointments. They were able to get a new mother board for the furnace and install it that day. They were polite, punctual, and seemed genuinely interested in helping me solve my problem. I have had no further issues with my furnace. I will use again.

He showed me exactly what he was going to do and answered all my questions, which was really important to me. He was very professional. He also gave me a senior discount. I will use them again next year for my A/C. I would have liked to know their hourly rate prior to them coming out. It was about $85/hr which I think is a bit high.

The service was phenomenal. We had been working with another local A/C company that has strung us along for more than 2 months. Obviously we were not happy with the service and decided to contact C&K after reviewing their reviews on Angies List. We contacted them at 3:45 pm the day before and they had a technician at our house at 8:00 am the next morning. Upon Jeff's arrival I explained the scenario of the A/C and the service we have received from 2 previous A/C companies. Jeff took his time with analyzing the system and was able to clearly explain that the previous A/C company had in fact installed a couple return air vents in the wrong location and to high on the wall. The result is that the return air vents are immediately pulling the air out of the side of the vent that is located too close to the return. Also, he advised that one duct and vent were to small for the area it is located in and that the thermostat is located in the wrong spot as well. Therefore the system is working against itself. Jeff also was able to explain that the system that is installed is known for having a poor coil design (which may or may not be a problem). We have begun an elimination process with adding 2 1/2 pounds of Freon, the next step will be to complete a dye leak test, and coil test, if the Freon does not fix the problem. This process will be completed by Jeff and C&K and we will definitely use both in the future. The other mentioned minor problems will be completed by the home owner in order to save money and remain on budget for the project. We cannot stress enough how appreciative we are to receive promptness, professionalism, and a competent professional that performed outstanding customer services and DOES NOT TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THEIR CUSTOMER!!!! Way to go Jeff and C&K......

We didn't know why it was leaking, but our tech, Richard quickly got to the root of the problem. We had an accumulation of cat fur from 8 1/2 years. We changed out our filters, but not always in a timely manner. He easily could have been dishonest and told us something major was wrong. He was courteous, prompt and professional. We used an Angie's List coupon we'd purchased and that was all we had to pay. I love doing business with a company with integrity.

I"m a property manager. I contacted the office late morning to schedule a repair appointment; due to my tenant's health issues, they were great in scheduling someone out that afternoon and troubleshoot the unit. The tech. ordered the parts and was back out the next day to complete the job. My tenant complaints that the tech. was late for more than 1/2 hour and no one contacted her about the delay....she has to take more time off from work. When I receive the invoice, the total repair cost was more than the estimate due to additional parts (filter and freon) and labor (pick up parts). I called the office to question the additional costs, Melissa was great in explaining the charges, and also willing to work with me on their labor charges, since they failed to inform me of the additional charges in picking up parts. I have used them before, and would recommend them to others.

My tenants went without AC for 4 days because I had called two other AC companies, who could not fix the AC. They told me that I had a leak in one of my AC units and the other had a bad compressor. Jeff with C&K come out and figured out the reason they thought there was a leak. It was because the high side was closed off and the low side was open and when they pressurized the unit the high side valve was leaking in to the compressor. He vacuumed the unit and it held pressure. That was one problem solved. The other unit had a really high head pressure that kept causing the unit to turn off. He knew that this unit had two coils and even though the coils had recently been cleaned, it was most likely not done correctly. He had to take the unit completely apart and separate the two coils and clean in between them. Which was tedious but he took his time and made sure it was done right. Jeff was an excellent technician.He provided great customer service, and also was very friendly. I have used this company twice in the last 7 days.The first time I called them at 7 am, they showed up at 8.30 am and the second time I called them at 8 am, they showed up at 11.30. Overall great service and highly recommended
Description of Work: Fixed two ac units, that two other AC techs said could not be fixed (from two other AC companies). Both the AC techs said that the units had to be replaced. He saved me thousands of dollars. He is the most knowledgeable AC tech I have ever met. I own lots of rental properties and have used lots of different AC companies . This is by far the best AC company and moving forward I will continue to use this company for all my properties.

They sent a technician out within hours of my first contact. This was to fix my AC that wasn't cooling. I expected it to be difficult to get someone out the same day since it was in the upper 90's that day. Jeff quickly found and fixed the problem. He then cleaned the unit and tested to see if Freon was needed. Everything tested okay so nothing else was done. The service was quick and friendly. I highly recommend them, and I will use them again in the future.

Mr, thank you for your review. After talking with you in length about these matters earlier today, I feel i should also respond online. I talked with the service tech regarding your services. After viewing the invoices, I will explain each one of the issues. 1.)the first issue is not receiving a discount for a second angies list coupon. When someone buys an A/C tune up service through storefront, no other coupons can be used in association with this service. you are getting the service at a discounted rate, so no other discounts can be applied. 2.) when the technician cleaned the systems(the service you purchased through AL) he discovered that two of the systems were extremely overcharged and causing the head pressures to be at a point where it would damage the equipment. He recovered the freon, which brought the pressures down. He told me he discussed the seriousnesss of this issue with you. As far as a credit being issued for the freon taken out, we did not put the freon in the system. we were called out for the first time through AL to clean the systems. the company prior to our visit overcharged the system. If we had been the company that put the freon in and charged you for it, only to recover it later, i would have no problem giving you a credit on the freon. 4.) problem still persists. not only did you have problems with overcharging of the a/c units and the condensers and evaporator coils being dirty, but the design of the system had flaws were it was pulling outside air to compensate for the lack of return to the system. our technician discussed these issues in detail concerning the ductwork. also the units were being turned off at night when the business was not open. When the equipment was turned on in the morning, it was hot and too much of a gap to overcome on the really hot days. our technician recommended to turn up the thermostat a few degrees instead of turning it off at night. 5.)the technicians bill was $159.16 and i was billed for $209.16. this was a miscalculation by the technician. He wrote on the invoice the material cost of $50 and a labor cost of $159.16. He forgot to add the material cost to the labor cost in the total section of the invoice, even though it was clearly written down on the invoice in the "materials" section and "labor" section. I apologize about the difference in totals from the technicians invoice (the copy left with you) and the office invoice. your signed invoice copy also clearly states this mathematical error.
