Best Blinds

John Pennington, the owner responded immediately to my call and came immediately to discuss what we needed. We had five Graber wood blinds that could not be adjusted for the tilt of the slats due to the mechanical part being broken. We had been advised by two different vendors as a home show that that problem (replacing the mechanism that the wand turned) could not be fixed: that we would have to replace those blinds. John told us that he was sure that he could get the parts and fix them. He did, though one blind wouldn't work with the new part, so he removed the part so that we could "hand adjust" the blinds using the support strings. We also needed to replace a blind in the house that our dog had partially eaten and get blinds for the garage. John gave us four estimates: one each for two different grades of faux wood, one for all three real wood, and one for the in-house blind as wood and the garage as faux. We selected all wood. John ordered teh blinds and installed them when he received them. The wood valence for the house blind was cut a hair to long, so he had to get that fixed, but he returned two days later and installed that. On the whole, we are very satisfied though it seemed to take forever to get from measuring to completed installation (two months).
