Work was started on time, Whalen was actually ahead of his time line. Even during bad weather work continued. Was called two days into job that he could not find this wrapped insulation he was to put in so he used a different product. Once job was almost done I gave Whalen the last payment. We walked around the house and I pointed out some things that were not satisfactory. Paint had bleed into window seals, bottom of the house had paint already peeling, areas around the house showed primer, the paint was sprayed on too thin in certain areas. We had the faucet on the outside redone, this was not completely resealed so the under wall is exposed. There is paint on the window seals and storm doors. An area in the corner of the patio had to be replace due to wood rote. This area was redone. It now has a crack in it were water can get in. On the front fascia there is an area that has no paint. Construction work, actual addition of hardy plank and replacement of window trim was done real nice. Whalen replaced and added support for the door jamb on the French door. Only problem with that is that the hole was not re-drilled so that I can lock the French doors into place. The paint is also coming off of the wood that he used to reinforce the door jamb. I have e-mailed Whalen asking him to please come back and finish up with no response. When we did the last walk around I was told that I could nit pick all day but that my house was not a mansion and that the paint problems were the fault of the bad quality of wood that is on the house. Whalen also said that the paint running into the window seals, not having a nice crisp line was not his fault that paint bleed thru the tape. I get this but you then need to do touch up. If this is so I ask then why on the new cement boards is the paint not holding up. I would be happy to re-write this review with a happy ending. Whalen did respond to my e-mail in which I listed the items that needed to be completed. He did come back and sealed the faucet and brought me some paint to do touch ups. Thank you
Description of Work: We had remodeling done to the outside of our house. Hardi/cement boards replaced rotted wood and insulation added. After this a sanding and paint job to the whole outside of the house. Only the back and two sides of the house were insulated and hardi plank added. Then the whole house received a paint job.
