The quality of cleaning was very poor and the cleaning company was called back in three times after the fire to reclean. The owner stated before cleaning that if there were items found that were not worth cleaning and would cost less to replace rather than clean, he would set those items aside and advise me and my insurance adjuster (i.e. inexpensive plastic containers, trash baskets, etc.) After I moved back home I continued to find areas that were not cleaned and found myself recleaning much of my home. When I received a copy of their itemized bill totaling approx. $19,000.00, I noted they charged for cleaning items I did not even own! They charged for cleaning headboards and footboards on five beds, in addition to cleaning the frames. NONE of my beds have headboards or footboards! They charged for cleaning stair carpet. I have no carpet on my stairs. They are wood. They were not cleaned. They charged $11.21 each for cleaning numerous "wicker baskets". These were all Dollar Store trash baskets. They charged for cleaning mattress and box springs on a day bed frame upstairs. Again, it is a frame only and has no mattress or box springs. They charged over $1,050.00 for cleaning "beanie babies" and "toy balls" in my granddaughter's playroom. NONE of her toys were cleaned by them. The plastic crisper/bin frame in my refrigerator was broken while cleaning, but they did not tell me about it. I only discovered it after my move home. They have refused to pay to replace it. There was also charges on the itemized bill for 16 hrs of "residential supervision" by the owner at a whopping $48.85 per hour! He may have been at my home 3-4 hours at the most. My insurance company initially made the $19,000.00 check payable to both me and Service Master. The owner requested I sign off on the checks. In September, 2013, I requested reimbursement from him for the rooms I had to reclean and for the false charges before I signed off on the check. Since that time the owner has managed to have a check reissued by my insurance company payable to Service Master without my name on it. The owner has refused to make any reimbursements to me and stated he would no longer discuss the matter with me and hung up on me while speaking with him on the phone on 10/28/13. Bottom line - Do NOT hire this company!
Description of Work: This company was hired by my insurance company (not me) for restoration and cleaning after a fire in my home.
