This was a terrible experience. Joe and his main technician provided horrible customer service. They were extremely rude to me and proceeded to call me a liar and blame me for their poor work. Save yourself and find someone else. During the initial quote, Joe was extremely polite. He assured me his company was very professional and a 5 star reviewed company. I had another quote from another company ( who I should have went with) that was lower. Joe stated he wanted my business, that he was local, and would take care of me. He offered to match the price. His 3 technicians (Joe was not there) showed up on a Monday. While removing the old system, they broke the trim around my furnace closet door ways and scratched the chair rail molding in my hall way. One of his technicians said they have a guy that does carpentry and will have him fix it. After then new unit was installed, Danny, the main technician, decided he was going to fix it himself. Proceeded to try and caulk to the two pieces of split trim together. When asked if he was trying to glue wood together with caulk, he responded very rudely with 'How long have you been building houses?'. He then became very angry and said fine and left the house. While doing so, he had caulk on his shoe and left a trail through my house. The other two technicians told me they will just get the other guy to come and fix it. When the work was supposedly finished and they were packing up, I was reviewing the work done with them that was part of the quote. They were supposed to air seal the return air compartment under the furnace closet. They did not do this, so they took off the grill to complete it. When they did the condensate PVC drain that was supposed to be connected to the floor was swinging freely. If I would have had them double check this, water would have eventually damaged my floors! I then started to look at the rest of the work now because of this and noticed that the furnace was installed crooked. The seams were leaking air and some of the seams didn't even have tape on them. The way they installed the unit makes it impossible to insert an air filter with out bending and tearing it up. On the outside a/c unit they were supposed to run the new line set through a PVC chase (thinking round hole in soffit with pipe going in). Instead they cut a huge slot from one of the soffit vents to the wall and covered with a big metal chase. The technician then left the openings unsealed. When I asked him if they were going to seal it to prevent animals and pests, he ignored me. I asked him again and he said yes. After it was finished, he put caulk around half the opening and made it look horrible. In my attic, they removed the insulation bats and soffit baffles and did not put them back. In my hallway they originally had mats down, but when they had to air seal the return air compartment, they didn't put the mats back down and their tools scratched my laminate flooring. Danny then gave me the invoice and asked for payment. I asked him if Joe was going to come, and Danny said 'why? you can't talk to me?'. I said I would like to talk to Joe, Danny pushed the issue further and I told him he was rude and I would like to talk to Joe. When Joe showed up, I explained that I was unhappy with his technician being rude to me in my home. Joe said 'ok, now tell me about the real problems.' I explained poor customer service is a problem. Joe then began to get rude as well. I continued recapping the issues. Joe kept telling me these are not issues. I had him feel the cold air blowing out of the furnace seams, he told he didn't feel anything while he was trying to smash down the tape to stop the airflow. He said the filter wasn't an issue, so I had him try to remove and replace. He tore up the filter while struggling with it. He said well I don't know what can be done about that. You would think they would have measure clearance before the install? As I continued to point out the issues Joe became very argumentative and started to point his cane at me in my hallway. I told him do not, and he needed to get outside. He wanted me to pay him the full amount owed less $100. I told him I would pay him half until the issues are resolved. Joe and two of his technicians returned on Tuesday. When he first arrived, I told him I was not going to tolerate him being rude to me in my home. I am paying him close to $4000 and will not tolerate being treated like that. At first things went smoothly, they taped the furnace seems and applied mastic. The removed the broken trim with the intention to fix later. They were not going to be able to fix the air filter, so they were going to custom order a new return air grill with a filter instead. They then went outside to reseal the metal chase correctly and this is were things went downhill again. Joe started being rude again, and during the discussion told me I was a liar, that I was miserable and asked me if I thought I had him by the balls because I didn't pay him his full amount. I then told him I have had enough, he could leave and do not come back. He said 'oh I will be back' and left. I was so frustrated and tired of dealing with this company, I called him and told him I am tired of dealing with him and would have the stuff fixed myself. I agreed to pay him the rest owed minus $226. He said he would take that deal, returned, took my check, and signed off on the invoice. I hopefully will never have to see him again and will contact another company for any work in the future. Do yourself a favor and do the same!

From start to finish including requesting the quote, Joe Randolph and his entire staff were prompt, gracious, offered competitive pricing, and followed up with me within 24 hours to make sure everything was going well with the unit. They really went above and beyond to ensure that I got the best quote possible. On the system that I requested, the price they quoted was $2000 less than the most expensive estimate I received and $700 less than the lowest I received. This was great considering they had the same 1 year labor warranty as the other 4 providers I requested estimates from. I was discouraged initially when I read a negative review about Able's AC & Heating on Angie's List and I'm so sorry that person had that experience; however, I have nothing but good things to say about the owner and staff of Able's AC & Heating!

MoreJust got off the phone with Joe Randolph (owner) for the umpteenth time over many months...had central air replaced, roof in the room under unit replaced when worker loosened drain and ceiling fell to floor...destroying computer and many irreplaceable articles my wife had saved throughout her childhood. They fixed ceiling, took $700 (twice the amount of tax on final work) off. Now have huge mess in attic, large hole in insulation where they had worked, and for some reason, black, mold-looking muck coming from vents. Over the last few months have been contacting them to ask of remaining/ongoing problems, now Joe tells me it's from the other unit, it's not our problem. Also told that only one and quot;UV filter unit (?) and quot; placed when contract stated two, a point on which Joe made sure that I knew he was and quot;giving me a breakand quot; on the price when contract first drawn up. Bottom line, the worst experience I had ever had with any type of contractor, bar none. Avoid these guys like the plague, trust me.

we got home from work about 6:30 only to find out that our air wasn't working. i had gotten this number from my grandfather that had gotten work done before so we called and left a message. about 10 mins. later we got a call back, told him what was going on and he said it was too hot for me and my family and that he would be there in 30 mins. (thermostat read 90 degrees) he finally left my house about 8:30 after making sure that me and my family didn't sweat to death that night. he came back first thing in the morning to finish up. theres not many people that would go out of their way for you like that. thats why me and my family will call no one else....
