Mike and his crew did what they said they would do, on time and for a good price. Quality of work was great. They were careful not to damage surrounding yard and plants. I highly recommend! Would use again. Very pleased.

Mike's team (3 different crews) were all great to work with and once the job got underway they passed the phases of the work off logically and fairly seamlessly. This was a kitchen job so my wife made most of the decisions and in her words, "I'd recommend these guys to anyone!" Cleanup was good and all niggly little details I'd requested were handled within the quoted price. The 600 overrun was all on us- tile and mosaic strip choices plus a new sink and disposal while all was torn out anyhow. It is a great looking job we're really pleased with! l

Had a leaking water faucet. Mike's guys repaired that and also fixed a light fixture. I have used him many times in the past. Great work and service. Reliable workers.

I feel so fortunate to have found southern states construction. They actually exceeded my expectations in every way. There is not much they cant do! And (in this day and age) take great pride in the work they do and always wanted to make sure I was happy with the work. And to offer ideas on how to do things for best results. Lots of problem solving for me!

The main septic line between the house and the tank had separated, and had also cracked under the foundation just beneath the concrete slab. SSC arrived on time and went to work. It was a hot, dirty, sweaty job. Mike and guys were great! They got everything dug up and replaced, and then filled everything back in. No muss, no fuss. Very professional and a pleasure to work with.

Once again Southern States Construction did a GREAT job! A few issues were encountered during the project, and the guys took extra time and care to make sure they were resolved and that a complete and professional product was delivered. Services provided were above and beyond.

Already submitted report when work was done in 2011. Haven't needed their assistance since. Did good job.

Contractor came back with different painter sub - did a great job re-painting cabinets and fixing some other things.

Mike and the guys were fantastic! You couldn't ask for any better. Punctual, reliable, knowledgeable, and ready to work. They did a great job, and made sure everything was to my satisfaction and done well. Nothing was "not do able" Craftsmanship was excellent. Everyone was conscientious, friendly, respectful of my home and well qualified for the job they were performing. As far as contractors go, THIS IS THE GUY AND THE TEAM YOU WANT!

Provider began work as promised and reported each day as discussed. Workers were extremely efficient and polite. Work was completed in a very timely manner. Attention to detail was obvious and impressive. No errors were noted in providers efforts.

Called and talk to someone in regards to getting a quote. I was told they would head out that day after taking all of my information. I have never heard back from them. I decided to give them another chance a few months later and especially since they are a local company. Unfortunately I met the same issue as I did the first time I called. I was told that they would be out on Friday of the week I called to schedule an estimate. They stated I did not have to be there for them to work up an estimate. They also said they would call me with the estimate. There is no excuse for losing my number since they had it on their caller-id, it was on the voicemail I left requesting they call me regarding a quote, & they called me back to schedule a time to come out to work up an estimate for my roof replacement. I was understand that things come up and maybe they could not get out to my house to do the estimate when they stated. However, I never heard back from anyone with Southern States. If you are busy it only takes a few seconds to pick up the phone and state what is happening. If you decide you do not want to do the job then again it only takes a few seconds to pick up the phone and at least tell the customer you cannot do the project. Obviously this company needs to work on their customer service skills in multiple areas of their business.

Our bathrooms and kitchens needed a complete remodel. SSC and crews started with the bathrooms and removed all of the old fixtures and completely remodeled the showers, tubs, sinks, tile and fixtures. They did a thorough job and were very concerned with our job satisfaction. The owner, Mike, was very easy to work with, very knowledgeable, and easily made adjustments to the original plan as we made adjustments. When the bathrooms were complete, we were very pleased and moved ahead with the kitchen. He did a total remodel there as well. New appliances, counter tops, tile, cabinets, additional storage and lighting. He worked with our plans, made excellent suggestions, and completed the job in a very reasonable amount of time and within budget. We also added other jobs to the original contract such as a new patio and deck. We mentioned a needed sea wall repair and not surprisingly, he was well qualified for that job as well. He repaired the sea well promptly and did a fantastic job. Our house looks brand new and we are very pleased! I highly recommend Southern States Construction for any job, small or large.

I was impressed with Southern States professionalism. They seemed eager and competent to do the work for a fair price on the property. I will contact them again if another opportunity arises.

Their service was good. My overall experience with them was fine. Their price is reasonable. I would probably use them in the future, and I would recommend them.

They were very good. I've been using them for the last 16 years and they are excellent. Their prices are pretty reasonable. They are coming out today to fix a sump pump so I will continue to use them.

It all looks good. The staff was professional and I didn't have any problems with clean up.

I contacted this company solely based on the Angie's List ratings. After 2 days of multiple calls and messages left, without even the courtesy of a response, I will call no further. Apparently they aren't interested in new business. Since we just built a $750,000 custom home, and were looking to add a guest apartment , pool, and pool house, I guess business must be very good for them. _______________________________________________________________ Update: as the contractor responded to my review that he had tried to call me, even though my caller ID did not reflect the calls, nor did I receive the message he suggests he left, I decided to give it another go. As we are still looking for someone to add a room to our main house, and to build both the pool and second house, based on Angie's list reviews I decided to try again. It certainly was/is possible that I missed the call. So I went ahead and emailed him directly through Angie's list. It's been a week and no response. No call. No email. Clearly my original opinion was correct, thus my rating stays as listed.

All work was very professional and was completed in a timely fashion. All work was completed within 2 months, only delay was a back order of special order garage doors, which was beyond their control. 1) I had a metal utility barn built. Southern States did all the ground site preparation, concrete work (pad for the building and repair of driveway) erected the building arches, completed the building ends, installed garage doors and electric for the building. They also did final grade work after the building was done. Southern States worked with me on all aspects of the building project; allowing me to provide the building and assemble the arches. They also worked with me in selection of materials, electric fixtures and were always easy to work with when changes or alterations had to be made mid-stream during construction. Their working staff were always on time and worked thru the day efficiently. 2) Southern States installed vinyl/metal on all soffits and fascia around my house and garages to make the house maintenance proof. They installed gutters and gutter guards all around my house and garages. They also replaced the ceiling on my front porch and installed new light fixtures in the ceiling. No matter what I needed done, Southern States was willing and able to complete the task. This is the third project Southern States has completed for me.

They put new shelving in and moved a door for us and put a doggy door in. Their price was reasonable and it went well.

I was pleased with his professionalism and eager to see what his bid would be for the various projects.

Mike was always very professional, knowledgeable, punctual and reasonably priced. He went out of his way to accommodate me and my schedule. He was always concerned with the quality of work and no task was out of his capability.

I had 4 general contractors like Mike come in and one handyman. Mike was the only one that really discussed getting things "good enough" and keeping my costs low vs getting it done "perfectly." I spent about half as much as I would have spent to have it done who knows how much better, which is just what I wanted. I feel very confident that if I wanted to double my costs, he would have had it looking flawless. As it stands, the major stuff (soffits, rotten wood, and missing siding) was fixed perfectly. I think it would have taken a solid week of sanding just to get the windows ready, so it might have been even more than double...
