+ -1 moreDid OK job first time. Second time, VERY rude. Did a VERY bad job. Did NOT finish. When I asked him to return to finish, he told me I should have realized he did not want the job. This was AFTER he accepted payment. DO NOT USE!!!!

+ -1 moreEvery other lawn person I have had picked up sticks before they cut - this man did not. I am disabled and a senior citizen. If I trip on a stick I do not see (I am legally blind), I can be very badly injured. Shawn Sims was going to come once a month then we changed it to every 2 weeks (he never got that, evidently). Last time he was here, he halfway cut my yard although he had no problem taking the check for FULL service. Left my yard looking like it was a vacant house. Texted him about the lack of service, no reply. He was due to return in 2 weeks, did not show or call. Since we had had some bad weather, I waited SIX WEEKS for his return. Finally fired his this morning. Had to get someone else to do the work. THIS IS WHAT HE TOLD ME BY TEXT TODAY - and I quote "Obviously I did not want your business, it was n't important to me. I haven't cut your yard. Duh!"
Description of Work: I hired the parent company - they sent SHAWN SIMS.

Description of Work: We added a very expensive front drive and half-moon flower bed over three years ago. The flower bed had become overtaken by wild grass and weeds. Mr. Sims cleaned out the bed, placed liner for prevention, mulch, removed unwanted plants and added replacement plants. He came to visit the week before and spent a lot of time with us giving suggestions and talking about what he planned on doing. I definitely recommend Mr. Sims. Very professional and experienced. The end result is beautiful.

+ -1 moreThree men started and finished in a reasonable time. They brought everything--a ladder and additional lawn tools. They were polite and professional. Mr. Sims and I agreed on a $40 fee per job.
Description of Work: The fee was based on a one-time major clean-up and included vine removal, trimmed shrubs, roof involvement with wisteria and afirst-time lawn cutting. All debris was bagged and set by the curb. The front lawn looked really good.

Description of Work: Mr. Sims never did any work for me. I contacted him for a quote. He came to our house & looked it over. Mr. Sims did call to say he was running late but it was really really late. However, he was so so nice & very pleasant during out meeting. He said he would be happy to do the work & would get back with me to give me a quote. We talked several times...all at my initiation of the phone call...& he never gave me a quote. He kept promising me a quote & said he had not forgotten me but he never gave me a quote. I finally gave up.

Description of Work: I had quite a bit of work I wanted them to do. The heat had been oppressive for weeks making it impossible for me to keep it up myself. I contacted Mr. Sims and he came by and walked my property with me. He made suggestions and responded to my questions about what his team would be prepared to do. At the end of that walk thru, he promised to give me an estimate and then I could tell how I wanted to proceed. Later that day, he provided me with an estimate and I accepted his proposal. We scheduled a day for his crew to do the work and we reworked the date as the weather dictated. Mr. Sims and his crew arrived and he was very professional as he provided directions to them according to my specifications on what I wanted to be done. The crew begin on the work promptly. They removed several well rooted shrubs without disturbing large perennial plants. Next they performed an attractive cutting of all of the remaining shrubs on my property. They used a blower to gather and remove all of the cuttings. Next they applied a product to handle all of the weeds that had woven themselves into my ornamental shrubs and flower beds. At my request, Mr. Sims had the staff to remove a large old fountain that I would never have been able to accomplish on my own. They then graded the plant and shrub areas with top soil that I had on hand and then applied red mulch all around. The cost of the red mulch [ and I required a lot -- at least 10-12 large bags] was figured into the total price. They did the work in two visits and I was very satisfied with the finished product. I highly recommend Sims Lawncare and Yard Work and I plan to use them again. P. Ross Brandon MS

I love that he really seems to enjoy helping people solve their problems and come up with solutions that make your outdoors a better place. I am very pleased with the work and love my reminders to water my yard.

+ -1 moreHis crew were raking and bagging by hand the leaves and sticks, then mowed the entire yard then blew off any left over debris. Took maybe an hour...excellent response time and dedicated and quick workers.
Description of Work: Yard cleanup. We still had leaves from last fall (too many trees + no where to blower/lawn mower = too much work for me), sticks, and grass trimming for the entire, fairly decent-sized yard. I called Mr. Sims Wednesday PM and the next day he and his crew were there and finished the job.

Description of Work: I spoke with Mr. Simms about taking over my lawn maint. He said he would come after lunch. I waited and he never showed. In his defense I spoke with 3 other companies that would come by "that afternoon" and only 1 did.

Description of Work: The flower beds around our house were extremely overgrown and really a mess, Mr. Sims came by the day I called and walked around the house. We discussed what needed to be done. He returned a few days later with his crew and did all the clean up, and prep needed for replanting some areas at the proper time. I was very pleased.

+ -1 moreFound Sim's on Angie's list and it had good reviews. Called Mr. Sims and he was eager to help me with a yard so overgrown I had begun getting neighbor complaints. I had been trying to mow my own yard but a lot of rain in a short period of time had given rise to conditions I simply could not handle. He was able to get to my yard quickly, called me with an estimate and began work immediately after I gave him the go ahead. Finished same day. Very courteous and professional. Yard Looks great. I plan to use him again if the yard gets away from me again this summer.
Description of Work: I had a terribly overgrown lawn. It needed mowing, edging and shrub trimming. Sim's got here on three business days notice (we had rain two of those days) and did a great job at a fair price. Besides the good work, the owner called me later to ask if I was pleased with my yard. Great service and I will use this company again.

+ -1 moreI decided to put a vegetable garden approx 600 sq feet in my surburban back yard, which had never been tilled. My yard had an extremely thick thatch of St Augustine grass, which had been growing I am sure since the house had been built 45 years ago, which was nearly impossible for me to break up. I rented a tiller thinking I could till it myself and tried to kill myself with it. I called several other landscaping, yard working, small to meduim equipment operators I found listed in the Rankin Ledger and on Angies list and was either told they did not do tilling, or they would do it if I got all the grass off first (that was what I was trying to avoid doing). I did get another landscaping company who said they would do it but it would run me between $250 and $400 to do it. I called Mr. Sims number listed on this site, he answered immediately and was available to give me an extremely reasonable estimate rifght away. His employees were courteous and worked VERY h****** the thatched sod for several hrs in the heat, I could tell it was difficult, but they never compained. They raked up the grass and disposed of it properly and tilled the dirt to my directions. They added my soil amendments I had purchased and now I have a very nice sized plot of veggies green and happy. I will be employing this company for yardwork in the future.
Description of Work: Tilled a 600 sq ft garden in back yard, removed very thick thatched St. Augustine, tilled dirt 6 to 8 inches, tilled in fertilizer, humus and manure.
