I have had serious issues with the owner of AirLock Insulation, Matthew Avery, who was also our builder and provided our home with spray foam insulation. Please do your research on the owners of AirLock prior to hiring this company. He is someone I would NEVER do business with again because of the turmoil he has caused my family. In respsonse to Kurt's allegation my review is false- 1. Matthew Avery is an owner of airlock - TRUE 2. Matthew Avery provided our home with spray foam and was our builder-TRUE FYI Kurt per Avery's sworn statement in his bankruptucy hearing he stated as a builder he subs out all work and owns no equipment. If this is a true statement then I find it very hard for him to have done any work including the insulation as part of his construction company. Either way Kurt, your business ethics or lack there of follow you no matter what company you are representing.

My name is Kurt Black and I’m managing member of AirLock Insulation. Right up front, I want to address this review directly…. This is a FALSE review of our company. We DID NOT do the work for the woman writing this review. This review belongs on the profile of a different business. I have spent countless hours working with the team at Angie’s List trying to defend our good name and get this false review removed, but in the end they (disappointingly) decided to let it remain on our profile. The FACTS: So first, I want to give you the facts: - The woman writing this review had a conflict with her builder in the construction of her new home - Her builder is also a member of our company - Her builder also does insulation work himself as part of his other company and did so in this case - AirLock Insulation did not do the work for this woman (and she admitted as such in an earlier version of this review that Angie's List made her remove), yet she is placing a negative review on our profile The Positive: Next, I’d really like to focus on the positive perspective.... We are an excellent local Mississippi business and we always focus on providing a great product as well as excellent customer service to our customers. If you’re looking into spray foam insulation for your home or business, I strongly suggest you ask for some references. At AirLock, we are very proud of our business and our customer service, and we would be happy to provide you with any number of customer references. We are proud of our team at AirLock. She says in her review to do your research on the team. We would welcome that. We’ve been doing this a long time in the area and have a great reputation. We’ve worked for the largest contractors in the area (including spraying parts of the new Pearl Outlet Mall), we’ve sprayed insulation in some of the most respected businesses in the state, and we’ve sprayed more residential homes than we can count. Please, please do your research. We welcome that. We’re proud of our track record and of our team. Call us to talk about anything you’d like to know. We’re here to help, and want to help you make the right decision regarding spray foam insulation. The Negative I am extremely disappointed with Angie’s List for allowing this review to remain on our profile. The member that wrote the review had a problem with her builder, and it has nothing to do with the team at AirLock Insulation. But Angie’s List allows her to put negative reviews on any company she wants, even if they didn’t do work for her. So for Angie’s List members: Do your research of local businesses outside of Angie’s List. Just because there’s a negative review of a business, doesn’t mean it’s true. And vice versa… just because there are positive reviews doesn’t mean they’re true either. The integrity of the review process for the site is lacking. I can vouch for that first hand. For Local Businesses: Beware Angie’s List and keep vigilant watch over your profile. You can be negatively reviewed by people that you didn’t even do work for. You would be shocked, but they don’t need to provide a shred of proof that you did work for them. It’s really shocking, disappointing and an unfortunate abuse of the power of the internet. Keep watch over your profile, but know that you unfortunately don’t stand much of a chance at fighting a false review of your company with Angie's List. BOTTOM LINE TO CONSUMERS: Do your research. At AirLock Insulation, we are proud of our product, our team, our reputation and our customer service. Call us and we'd be happy to talk to you about your project and provide you with dozens of reviews from happy customers.
