Burt Goltz was very unorganized. Could not keep track of what was going on. When it came down to the last phase of the remodel, he rushed the labor and in the end we got trim improperally installed and doors not painted. Etc. Did not care about the quality of work, just cared about what he was going to make in the end. I learned a lesson with this guy.

My home inspector recommended that I have a professional roofer look at potential issues with the roof of the house I am considering purchasing. I called the professional roofer that I have used twice in recent years, Strong Roofing. (Burt put a new roof on my house and on a family member's house). Even though it was Friday when I called and he has many roofing jobs going, Burt squeezed in an appoint for early Saturday morning. His roof inspector met with me Saturday moring on his way to inspect other roofing jobs. The roof inspector was prompt, courteous, friendly and very knowledgable. He took pictures of all issues and sent them to Burt. Burt is currently providing advice on roof repair or replacement and the associated costs. BTW, it is Sunday night and Burt is emailing back and forth with me to discuss appropriate actions and costs.

I sent a message via their website yesterday (Sun) and received a response back within an hour. Burt (the owner) personally came by my home Monday morning to inspect the area in question, and then came back by early in the afternoon with one of his roofers to make the repair. Very pleasant and professional. Will definitely call again when more repairs are required or when it's time for a new roof.

We were impressed by the professionalism, and quality of product offered. And the estimated cost fell in the middle of the other estimates we had. We are out of state homeowners, and they were willing to work with dates that we could be in town for having the roof work completed. This was very important to us. The work was done as promised. They even did a very good job of cleaning up after completion. I would use Strong Home Services again!

I have used Burt's company numerous times. Frankly, to call anyone else is just a waste of time, since Burt's people are so experienced, calling someone else will only delay the issue because then Burt's people will have to undo what someone else has done before they can fix the job correctly. I've been thru that as well. Burt has great people working with him who have been with him for years. Chico and Tony have worked on separate projects for me, big and very small ones, and they have been wonderful. With Strong Roofing, you know that you are getting a qualified, experienced professional and not last week's construction helper. I usually don't post very many reviews, but this company was just too good not to compliment. The cool thing with Strong Roofing is that they are more than just roofing. One of my projects involved removing shingles and also siding from my chimney, and replacing the wood and the siding and waterproofing it properly. I didn't have to call separate companies to take care of this. Strong is more than just roofing, they do a lot of other things too, thank goodness. They are not just good, but cooperative with my needs as well. I have 4 dogs, so before they come for their scheduled visit, they call ahead so that I have time to take the dogs out and then put them inside the house before they arrive to do their work. Also, while they are here working, if they are working long enough, if I need to take the dogs out, they simply go out front so that I can take care of my dogs' business and then they get back to work. Actually that was their idea. If you call someone other than Strong, good luck to you is all I can say. When a hurricane comes - and it will - and when I get some shingles blown off, or siding, or any damage at all, Strong will be my first call. It's comforting to know that they are a one stop shop. I want to reiterate that the guys working for him have literally been working for him for years. I know I am going on about things, but I've had so many bad situations with other contractors in the past that when I meet a quality group of people, I can't resist singing their praises. I give them an A+++++++.

Got estimate for leaking porch roof. Work to start following week. Did not show up. Called Strong & was told that Tony had family emergency. Told them I still wanted work done when Tony became available again. Tony called. Told him I understood he had a situation but when ready come do the work. Tony said he would call following week to reschedule work. Never heard from him or Strong again.

Chose this provider because of ratings on Angie's List...competitors had few reviews in comparison and unsure who to trust with metal shingle roofing. First contact in late April/early May and explained problem; told someone would be out to look at it. Someone showed up next day and did a survey, but no estimate. Said he would be back in early June after finishing other jobs and visiting his mother. Wife and I called multiple times, and were given apologies each time and told someone would be out to look at it. Our last call (Oct 28) received same (apology/someone will be out); someone actually called the next day and said he would be out "this week." It is now 3.5 weeks later--no one has called or showed up. Our job may be too small/not enough profit, whatever...at least have the simple courtesy to tell us you're not interested. (UPDATED) Mr Goltz came out to my house 3 times, and he provided a no-charge evaluation of existing problem areas, and recommendations on how to resolve them. He expressed concern about potential unseen damage to the roof, and was hesitant to provide an estimate. We talked about the possibility of full roof replacement, and I asked if he would prepare an estimate for comparison. Over a period of several weeks, Mr Goltz did much research and investigation into my roofing materials and installation methods. His advice and information proved useful in discussing my roof issues with the insurance adjuster and other contractors. I never received an estimate for repair or replacement.

Burt and his crew are awesome. They are on time and on target. Very professional attitude and performance. My old roof was off, new roof installed and my house looking like nothing ever happened in 2 days. Would recommend Strong Roofing to anyone. Their work is evidence for why they have Angie's Super Service Award.

Strong Roofing did a totally SUPERIOR job of reroofing my home. ALL tasked required to lay a solid, totally water repellant roof were completed in an exemplary manner. There is NO ONE ELSE to call for ANY roofing project !!

Burt is very professional in all he does. I had several quotes before hiring Strong Roofing, all the way from the independent guy advertising on Craigslist to two of the biggest local contractors. Burt's quote price was right in the middle. He personally did a roof inspection, provided alternatives, and explained the whole process, from obtaining permits to choosing the right type and color shingle. As the only Owens Corning certified contractor on the MS Gulf Coast, he offered the best warranty. I care about my roof because I plan to live under it for a long time, so the choice was ultimately an easy one....spend the least but without any compromise. The obvious choice after so much research and so many quotes was Burt. Did Burt deliver on all his promises and lived up to his reputation? He certainly did in a big way. My roof is the envy of the whole neighborhood. Owens Corning Duration shingles come in unique colors and shades that stand out from ordinary architectural shingle. I got the Teak color shingles with the high profile hip and ridge...absolutely gorgeous. His crew of six people completed the roof on my 2500 sq. ft. home in a day and after the cleanup was done you could never tell they were ever here. It was a thing of beauty to see these six guys working in unison from stop to finish...no loud boom boxes, no cursing, just complete synergy...obviously a happy and proud-of-their-work crew. Mr. Strong referred me to "Tony," the "field superviser." "Actually, Tony is also T.J.'s Roofing. We made an appointment for him to come by on Thursday at 1 PM. It rained and he didn't show up. He then called lost in my neighborhood and wanted directions to my house on Friday at 2 PM. He did not call ahead. If he had, I could have let him know I was unavailable. When I told him I could not be there to show him the problem with the roof, he became quite angry. When I asked when we could reschedule, he told me he was too busy, and would call. Never heard from him again. When I talked to Mr. Strong, he basically told me they didn't have time for what looked to be a small job. Very impolite and unprofessional.

Oh how much do I love Strong Roofing? Let me count the ways: 1-Mr. Bert was extremely knowledgeable and comes with a plethora of experience. 2-He knows everyone in the roofing community on the Ms Gulf Coast and the surrounding area. He is also an insurance adjuster himself, as well as has been working with the area's insurance adjusters for over a decade in most cases. 3-He not only showed us his credentials, but gave us a copy as well and encouraged us to check him out, and volunteered references. 4-We knew exactly how much everything would cost us out of pocket (the amount you see above is the TOTAL cost for the roof only- including deductible). 5-Mr. Bert was always punctual. In the interest of full disclosure, the work was supposed to be done sooner. However, his dear mother was gravely ill during our claim process and unfortunately, she ultimately passed away. Mr. Bert took an appropriate amount of time for this emergency and got us done as quickly as possible. 6-If it weren't for the beautiful new roof, I couldn't even tell that they were here! Cleanup was AMAZING! His crew got here ON TIME, did the job and left. Actually, they had an hour to spare and STILL the area was the way they left it. They never even rolled onto my grass. They worked through lunch (Mr Bert brought them Subway) due to impending rain and did a beautiful job. 7-They never once came into the house and were professional, courteous and efficient. 8-They matched our siding perfectly and replaced it. Looks like new! 9-Our appointment for installation was at 7am and the initial person got here at 6:58, the crew got here at 7:00 on the nose. That included the dumpster, the supplies, everything! 10-Mr. Bert gave us plenty of options regarding the colors, etc. he showed and gave us product information and the warranties. He showed us HD pictures of his actual work, rather than stock photos or pointing us solely to the website, which we really appreciated I HIGHLY recommend Strong Roofing if you need a NEW roof. They're large and busy, so while they're capable to do a patch job, they really shine when it comes to new roofs. We were initially told by an adjuster from Texas right after the storm, that the cost to repair the roof was less than our deductible. Mr Bert explained how that process works and why that happened. He re-opened our claim and in no time, we had a new estimate. Not just for repairs but for an entire new roof. If you've gotten an initial estimate from the insurance company, especially after a disaster and think its impossible to get it done, let Bert have a crack at it. He really cares about people and just wants to help the homeowner have a strong, good roof over their heads. You can absolutely tell, it's not just about the money. Go with Strong Roofing. Burt was great. He came over to give me an estimate, then the guys came as scheduled to do the work. Then Burt returned to take a look at the completed job. I was very happy with the work. It's nice to know that these guys will be around when I need them.

The work was done in one long day, the morning was the demolition of the old roof, and by late morning the crew was installing the new shingles. The crew cleaned up everything when they were done.

Did not show up for scheduled appointment to make an estimate. Did not call to notify us or to reschedule.

They were great. I called them, they were there and done within three or four hours. He saved me money from his original quote. They gave me a quote based on my description and when they came and looked at it, they said they would fix this for less.

Mr. Strong is a real talker. He seems to be extremely knowlegable and proressional. The outcome of the visit was that he could fix my problem but it was the wrong time of the year. Said he could come out when the weather was better. The estimate was very general in nature.

Mr. Goltz returned my call promptly and made appt. to see the property. He kept the appointment as scheduled, surveyed the property and we discussed various roofing options. He promised a proposal within a couple of days, together with locations of jobs he had completed in my area recently. The proposal was received in a timely manner. We set a date for the job; he and his crew were there; the crew worked efficiently and neatly. The job was finished in the time frame given. Mr Goltz came to the site the next day to supervise removal of the dumpster and to bring bags of topsoil to fill in ruts in the yard caused by the dumpster. He also provided me with information and forms to recover depreciation deducted from my wind coverage. Mr. Goltz also made another trip to inspect the finished work about three weeks after his crew had done the reroofing. Dealing with Strong Roofing was a pleasure: they provide a quality product, show up on schedule, work efficiently; finish on time and are extremely nice people to deal with! Would recommend without reservation.

Burt set an appointment with me promptly upon receiving my phone call. He gave a reasonable quote in writing for replacing my entire roof. He provided addresses of roofs that he had replaced, provided a phone reference that I could call and answered every question that I asked. He gave me pamphlets that explained the Owens Corning roofing material. Burt took note of the fact that I needed a new roof quickly as my exisitng roof was not properly installed and had sprung multiple leaks. He worked my new roof into the schedule quickly. In addition, Burt went above and beyond the call of duty by setting up the job on Monday morning when he just had emergency surgery on the previous Saturday. (Emergency surgery can't even keep this guy from performing.) Burt gave his personal time and attention the job. He walked the roof, inspected the work of his crew and made sure they paid attention to details. He treated me more than fairly. His crew also performed a few extras with no increase in the quoted price. Burt obtained the roofing permit and had the roof inspected by the city upon completion. The roof looks great. The roof passed city inspection with no problems. Burt's crew left the yard super clean. Burt kept in constant contact via email during the entire process from quote to roof completion. Update September 2012: --------------------------------------- My roof weathered Hurricane Isaac just fine. No leaks!! Thank you Burt and crew!! Definitely recommend this company! Update November 2012: -------------------------------------------------- My mom had a leak around her chimney. It was dripping onto her living room ceiling. Previously, my mom used several different roofers to repair the leak around the chimney. All roofers assured her it was fixed. It was not. Leaked again after every so called repair. Then, my mom's roof sprang several leaks. Since I had such a great experience with Strong Roofing, of course, I used them to replace my mom's roof. Burt answered at least 100 emails from me (not an exaggeration) during the entire process. Emails ranging from price to color selection to general questions. He really has patience with his customers. My mom lives about 45 minutes away from me. Burt emailed me pictures of the install which saved me a trip to moms. There was a small issue with the ridge vent caused by the previous roofing installer. Strong Roofing addressed the issue (unlike the previous roofer who thought it was good enough). The real test of a business is how they treat you when there is a problem. Burt addressed the ridge vent and now I am confident that my mom's roof will have no leaks. In fact, it is raining today and she reports that there are no leaks including around the chimney. I absolutley recommend Strong Roofing for any roofing job and especially for the ones that are near and dear to your heart (like my mom's roof).

Nothing much to tell.......... He came, he saw, he inspected, he coordinated and persuaded, he re-engineered the roof, improving it greatly, he taught me how a roof should be done, he supplied exactly the right materials and saved money in the process, he brought out a vigorous and professional crew that really hustled, he supervised, he inspected again, and he wrapped it all up. What part of " Use Burt !!" might not be clear to you? The Best !!

Very responsive on first visit - provided estimate(150) - was back when he had work in my area (repair/changeout of vent cover was non-emergency) which was fine since it saved me money. Return visit to do changeout happened sooner than I expected. Price to do the work seemed good.

Burt was a pleasure to work with. He was very responsive, professional and communicative. My situation was unique in that I am out of state and needed a new roof on an investment property. I sought proposals from several contractors, some of which were less expensive, but after speaking with them in an interview of sorts, I am happy I selected Strong Roofing. Burt was very forthcoming in presenting his credentials, experience and references. He was creative when I needed to work on the price a bit. He took extra effort to ensure that I was kept informed every step of the way and he called frequently and sent pictures during the job. I would highly recommend him and use him again myself.

We could not be more pleased. Over the years I have worked with a lot of contractors and subs and I can say that Strong Roofing did an excellent job and I'm not easy to please. I would use him again and would recommend him to friends. I did get other estimates and Mr. Goltz's was very competitive. I am pleased with the roof and with the fact that he kept the job site neat and clean with minor damage to landscaping which he offered to replace.
