Description of Work: Steve Stapel did return my call promptly. He very courteously told me that he was too busy to take on any more jobs. I appreciated his taking time to call to let me know, as most don't bother. I would appreciate it even more if Angie's List had some way of temporarily removing service providers from the list if they are too busy to take on any more work.

Description of Work: Steve first built a sturdy platform using treated lumber; he then constructed a Lifetime Storage Shed (which was stored in boxes in our garage for 2+ years.) The weather was not cooperative, so it took several attempts to complete the job. He then installed very unobtrusive but secure hurricane strapping. Great job all around. My husband and I have plans to use Steve again for other overdue projects. Very responsive and honest.

Description of Work: We had issues with a leaky roof and repair drywall. Steve gave me the best estimate, which was half the price of other estimates. He was very professional and did the job to my satisfaction. I would definitely reccomend.

 + -1 moreHe came by the day I called to check what needed to be done and gave me some additional suggestions. Service was scheduled the same week. He arrived on time and ready to work. He completed all that needed to be done plus several more jobs that I had forgotten to tell him about, in a very timely manner. He organized the work that needed to be done so that the painting had plenty of time to dry before dark (front door). He cleaned everything up before he left. In short, he was the perfect person for the job!
Description of Work: He corrected several small plumbing problems, cleaned gutters, power washed the house (scrubbing where needed with a brush), painted the front door and other areas where needed, installed new front door hardware, installed a new mailbox, corrected an outdoor spotlight problem.

Description of Work: Steve came when he said he would, did the work he was contracted for and completed when he said it would be completed. It was a small rental house that was in really dirty condition. The couple had blocked the AC and never opened any blinds or windows. Bathroom ceiling was a mess, blinds were mildewed, floors and kitchen were filthy. Steve painted the interior after cleaning, replaced blinds, and replaced locks. Very satisfied with his work ethic. He's a retired Marine, so would not expect less.

I usually wait until I have a small list of things for him to do, then I call him and go over what I need done, then he comes and takes care of it all. He has a familiar red cargo van with the One Call Handyman logo on the side.
Description of Work: Steve Stapel, the One Call Handyman, is the best handyman I've ever used. I have hired him on many occasions to do everything from fence repair, roof work, shelf installation, insulation installation, rodent removal, light electrical and light plumbing. He makes an appointment that is at a convenient time for me, he shows up on time and he does a quality job in a timely manner. I'm so glad I've found a handyman that I can depend on!
