Description of Work: They did excellent work and cleaned up really well when finished. If I needed tree service again, I would definitely call them.

Description of Work: They trimmed trees in my yard and removed a tree on the line in my neighbor's yard. All went well.

Description of Work: Came and took two tall dead pine trees down and ground stumps. Saved the logs for me for future wood working. Only cut to 7-7.5 feet though, so not good for normal dimensioned lumber eg. 2x4x8s. Not "A" because they let the huge hunks of log hit the ground and dig great holes in the lawn and bounce and whack the bark off another oak tree. They did refer me to Gabe Walters Specialty Tree who has a portable sawmill so you can have the wood made into lumber and we have used him since. He is an A. His crew tied the logs above and below the cut and lowered them down so the only holes in lawn were ruts from machines which they did their best to fix.

Description of Work: I had a massive 100 year old oak tree in my front yard that developed rot down the middle of the trunk. Three large limbs fell and one limb came through my roof into my foyer area. I made a decision to remove the tree and I contacted 4 tree services for quotes. One firm came by but never provided a quote. Three companies provided estimates and a couple of neighbors told me they had good experience with Big John's Tree Service, the company that provided the best quote. I contacted them and they said it would take two days to remove the tree and they would be available to do the work in 4 weeks. Exactly 4 weeks later, they came and removed the tree over a two day period and the quality and precision of the work was remarkable. I highly recommend this tree service for removal of large trees in difficult locations.

Description of Work: They cut down two small trees (a foot in diameter) and trimmed numerous large (18 inch in diameter) branches from trees around my house. They also ground the stumps.

Description of Work: They cut down a large dying oak tree from our side yard by first placing thick mats for protecting the yard. Then cut the branches one by one and last cut the tree in pieces. They ground the stump level with the ground and cleaned up everything.

Description of Work: The services provided by Big John's Tree Service consisted of the following: Taking down, stump grinding and hauling off 2 maples, 1 Bradford pear, 1 large popcorn cluster, 1 overgrown wax myrtle and 1 hackberry tree in the back yard. Additionally, an old stump was ground and hauled off. Then, to add to the tree removal complexity, 1 tree had many branches around the electrical wires, and another tree had grown into both a large wooden block and a 1936 Ford front axle with leaf springs. To get the equipment in the back yard, a gate post needed to be pulled up and some small stumps pulled up from bushes we cut down.

Description of Work: I called Big John's on Friday afternoon around 4:30 after a large oak tree in my yard split and fell into another tree, which is the only reason it didn't fall on my neighbor's house. Ken Anderson, of Big John"s, came out and looked and called his crew back in to get the oak down before it took the other tree down and crashed onto my neighbor's. On Monday, he and his crew returned and took down both trees, ground the stumps and leveled the area, and hauled away the debris. They were incredibly efficient and did a very professional job.

Description of Work: Had a huge Pine tree in our back flower bed right up next to a fence that had been dead for a considerable amount of time and sought several estimates to have it removed. Ken at Big John's came out right away and gave me an estimate to have it removed, and along with a written quote, he also provided proof of insurance at the time (out of all the various estimates I received, Big John's was the only company that provided this information to me up front). Ken let me know that the tree wasn't in danger of falling down right now, and as he was already booked for several weeks, he let me know that if we had any concerns that it would need to come down sooner (due to major storms, etc.) to give him a call and he'd take care of it ASAP. The tree went through several major storms over a week and a half, was doing fine, but on the 6th or 7th storm, there was some movement, so we called him, and he adjusted his schedule and was out at the house with an 8 man crew, his 2 bobcats, bucket truck and dump truck and cutting down the tree within an hour and a half:) Even though Ken let me know that damage was possible, perhaps even likely (as with any giant tree coming down), my entire family was impressed with the extreme care Ken took to prevent any damage to my lawn (massive mats were laid down anywhere the heavy machinery would be), my wooden flower bed retaining wall (which he removed and reinstalled) and my fence (ensuring to drop the limbs far enough away so that they wouldn't damage the fence by bouncing up when they hit the ground). He even came prepared with topsoil in case there were any ruts in the lawn after they were done. The end result was a tree professionally removed, no ruts (because of the extreme care they took to prevent it), and a yard that looked like no one had even been there.
