Frye Tile & Exterior Coating

Frye tile is well known in town. They incompetently installed a tile shower in my second story guest bathroom. When they built the shower, they incorrectly installed the shower pan liner and it has now leaked from numerous spots into my fist floor dining room. My house is a mess. I have given them numerous opportunities to come look at the damage and to make it right but Kenny Frye refuses to return my phone calls and his employees cover for him. I have been by his place of business on numerous occasions to no avail. I am now turning it over to my insurance company. Since it was our guest bathroom, it was rarely used and the damage took years to manifest itself. The statute of limitations for small claims court in Miss is 36 months. Frye tile has a bad reputation all over town for incompetence and not responding when called by those who discover damage after their faulty work is discovered.

Frye Tile came to our house in late June to "remeasure" the countertops. We ordered & paid for the Corian countertops on July 2nd and was assured that the counter tops would be installed the following week. I agreed to remove the old countertops. We waited until mid week (a week after buying the tops) to call Kenny Frye to see about when we can expect the tops to be installed. He told us "by the end of the week." The end of the week came and we called again. This time he assured us that they will be installed early next week. We called back on July 2nd, and was told that Kenny Frye, the owner, was on vacation. So we asked again when our countertops will be installed. We were always told "within a couple days." We continued to call them every day after that asking the same question. At one point we were told the material to make the countertops had not even arrived. Something to do with the manufacturer delay. Then, supposedly the material came in but the manufacturer did not include the glue. We continue to call asking when our countertops were going to be installed. Kenny Frye told my fiance that he is tired of us constantly calling him asking about something that is not that important. Meaning the fact that we are living in a house with no counter tops or kitchen sink. To him that is not very important. We contacted an attorney and he suggested we go look at the counter tops. So we did, it was on or about July 22nd. We walked into the shop at Frye Tile and it appeared that they had just begun putting the counter tops together that day. We expressed our dissatisfaction with him and his services and he fluffed up like a rooster and threatened to call the cops if we did not leave his property. So we left. Finally July 28th he once again said he'd be to the house to install the tops after lunch. They showed up at approx 3:30pm. The countertops were not finished. Meaning the finish was very dull and scratched. They had to constantly cut on certain pieces to make them fit and in fact cut too much and now they have horrible gaps between the wall and countertops. There is a crack in one portion of the tops. Multiple scratches. They damaged the walls by cutting a hole in the wall with a sander and in another area damage caused by continuous attempt to install and removing of the countertop. One countertop has no support under it. The top flex is almost a whole inch. Certainly it will break without being supported. When I raised serious questions about the installation, Kenny JR. (Kenny Frye coward out from his commitment) assured me that they will fix the problems, so I asked him to put that in writing and then he began getting agitated and angry. All the while he had his 2 man crew loading up the truck outside. He never intended to make the repairs. He left in an uproar. They left my garage a total mess and damaged a can of drywall mud by cutting the lid nearly in half. Leaving plastic bit in the mud. Calls to Frye Tile have went unanswered.
