Description of Work: Replaced inside and outside unit. Crew took short cuts and should have replaced canvas piece that connects inside unit to tree duct. They installed without doing so and later found ripped hole that was allowing air flow to go into actic space. Also they only connect one heat strip and left the other unhooked. Found that out this past winter. Would not recommend them at all.

Description of Work: Mike Boyle assessed dampness around our A/C vents, and walked us through the steps to test for mold as well as re-insulated the A/C vents so that moisture wouldn't build up & cause any future problems. He also added freon to the unit. |

+ -1 moreOur AC system is original to the house so when we stood in our kitchen and had water dump from the ceiling down into the pantry...we thought for sure our system was going to need to be replaced. We called Boyle heating and cooling on Saturday. They were already booked for the morning by the time we had the issue but scheduled us for early Monday. Most other servicemen we've dealt with thus far in Columbus have not been very reliable and either show hours after scheduled, or don't show at all. We were pleasantly surprised when they arrived a bit after 8, leaving us the rest of our day to do other things that we needed to do. They quickly assessed the situation and fixed it promptly...no new system needed! They gave us good information concerning our system and were very respectful and professional. Their price was reasonable and we will definitely be using them in the future for our heating and cooling issues.

+ -1 moreCommunications, before and after the work was done, was good. Calls were either answered or returned promptly. Mike Boyle came to the house twice before doing actual work - once to give an accurate estimate, once to take measurements prior to starting work. On the day of the actual work, they arrived on time with a work crew of 5 men. Work seemed to be well directed, and they finished within the original time estimate -- even though they had to do some custom work, on site, rebuilding the platforms for the indoor units and creating custom plenums to match the existing duct work. The crew did a good job cleaning up after themselves when the work was finished. They took care of hauling off and disposing of the old units. The charge for the units & work matched what was estimated - including sales tax. There were no surprises. (The cost given in the "approximate cost of service" includes sales tax.) Mike Boyle took care of registering the warranty with the manufacturer (Rheem). I received an email confirmation the warranty had been registered. The cost of the units plus the cost for labor seems fair to me.
Description of Work: Completely replaced two old central heating and cooling units (upstairs and downstairs). Indoor and outdoor components were replaced. Included running all new coolant lines, new condensation drain lines, rebuilding the two platforms the indoor units sit on, custom manufacturing, on site, two plenums to match the existing duct work, leveling the area for the two new outdoor compressors.

After two attempts at resolving my furnace issue with another technician, Mike Boyle came to my house, made a diagnosis, ordered the needed part, returned the next day and fixed the problem. Boom! That quick and hassle-free. And this was at a cost 1/6 of the other two attempts, which had been unsuccessful. Great job, very reasonable price....I'd use him again in a heartbeat and highly recommned him.

+ -1 moreThey showed up on time and were dressed professionally and had a professional looking vehicle as well. Mr. Boyle looked at our current units and asked questions in order to give us a proper estimate. I can say that my interactions with him, both over the phone and in person, were wonderful and his professional demeanor made me feel comfortable in giving him the job. He actually wrote things down, which was impressive compared to a lot of contractors I've dealt with! He (or his employees?) were a bit slow in getting the estimate back to me, but it was also going into their busy season, so that is to be expected. Our estimate also had some extra details that would have required more research than what is probably the norm . Unfortunately, we did not give Boyle Heating and Cooling the job, as we got a lower bid. Their bid was in no way above average for this area though. Overall, I give this company an A and kudos to the owner for being professional and friendly. Sometimes that is hard to come by in contractors. I would definitely feel comfortable having work done by them.

Every HVAC repairman in this area seems to charge the same price for a service call, which is high. Mr. Boyle's charge for freon seemed high as well.

Description of Work: Boyle Heating and Air were the contractos on our AHS Home Warrently list and when our air conditioner quit we called Boyle. It turned out we had several different issues with the unit. The first time they came out, it was pouring rain and the guys did what they could given the circumstances. Unfortunately, the unit was still not operating properly. I could not get in touch with the home warrenty folks and so I called Mike Boyle, the owner, directly. He promptly sent his guys back out even though it was the middle of summer and his schedule was booked. They fixed a drain line that was causing water to back up into the house and cleaned up after themselves! They also went above and beyond and dug out a small tree that was beginning to grow beneath the compressor slab. The drain fix worked well; however, a short while later, the unit began working intermittently. They came back out several times to check the unit but it was was working each time it came. Finally they asked me to call when it malfunctioned and they came out immediately. They determined the timer was faulty and repaired the unit right then. It has worked beautifully since then. I cannot iterate enough how wonderful these guys were. They were professional and courteous at all times. They worked hard to identify the issues and make the proper repairs.
